Xbox 360 Controller for Windows: $44.95 (U.S.) --- huh!?!?

i think you just didnt read the article...

you're right sorry, only read the first 5 paragraphs. Is the X360 controller USB? if not maybe this controller is wired with USB cable and has proper drivers for it.

The standard 360 controller is probably compatible with PCs. They probably just threw a windows logo on the gamepad to make it clear to non-360 owners looking to buy a gamepad for their PC (sort of like how the HP+Apple ipod has an hp logo on that says it's windows compatible even though the standard Apple ipod is also compatible and nearly indentical to the HP+Apple version).

Of course it is. The X360 has 3 USB ports, and no other specific ports for controllers. If you buy a wired controller, there's no place else for it to connect other than one of the USB ports.

Did you miss this part -

Consistent Game Control

Joining the Game Precision Series later this year will be the new Xbox 360™ Controller for Windows®, a wired gaming controller that works with Windows XP-based PCs and the new Xbox 360 system to deliver a consistent gaming entertainment experience across Microsoft’s gaming platforms.

edit:

I read more closely what you said. I'm thinking this is the normal wired controller but it's written a certain way because the article is about PC interfaces.

personally I'd like a wireless USB receiver for the PC so I can use the wireless 360 pad with it.

I'm sure Microsoft would be happy to sell you one for $150.

No really, aren't there such devices already available? I'm too lazy to check.
