i think the true test will be slot receivers. man or zone, there really hasn't been anything (short of doing it yourself) to stop the slot receivers consistently

Yeah, in Madden 10 I think I beat CB in one superbowl and I remember beating BigAT in another. The game against BigAT was memorable because he was one yard short from scoring a gamewinning touchdown in the last seconds.

Buahahaha. I know I caught a huge break but IDGAF! CHAMPS!

I went to three SBs and won two. For what it's worth i am still mad about how I lost that one that I did. Last second TD pass that was a result of manual WR movement. I think the season after is when that rule was put in place.

In the NFC I can't get past AT or CB. It's fucking shameful! It's always close and then I lose on like the last possession. They are like the Celtics against the Knicks, they just close out games well.

One of those tournaments was a lot of fun, i forget when we did it but it was awesome to play as the Texans with Slaton, Daniels, and AJ. Not to mention a D with Mario, Cushing, and Ryans. That front seven was ridiculous, too bad the secondary might as well have been scare crows.

Maybe it's changed with the addition of the new animations, changed AI, and removal of suction, but manual WR catch was easily exploitable before.

The problem was that WRs have certain catching animations that can be used at will that takes priority over a DB in better position, and we had people who knew how to exploit those animations.

Well, there you go. Jetpack was remove with 11.

The problems were:
You could easily get a flag because the defender would always be blamed for contact
You could jetpack catch
You could suction catch
You could confuse the AI by running in circles or weird routes
WR animations take priority over DB animations.
DBs get alligator arms when manual WR is used.

It was almost a guaranteed catch. You can see what it's like when you see non-league play.* People just run back 20 yards and chuck it down field.

The problem is two fold:

1) A lot of time trying to take manual control of a DB can be disastrous for a number of reasons so most people just don't even try it. I pick my spots but I generally don't do it.

2) In man to man coverage, the DB AI follows the receiver not the path of the ball when it's in the air. If you take control of the receiver you can run the defender off the route then get back to the landing reticle with the defender way off. What happened on that play was a streak play was called, i had a DB on the guy man to man, the opponent switched and ran something similar to the beginning of a wheel route taking my defender completely off line, then went back outside and made the catch. Both the safety and CB stayed in due to the way the WR was running. It wouldn't be an exploit if the defender went directly to the ball.

Like I said, I'll play if the game is decent. I doubt it will be. I would hate to be the guy that's in here being all bitter every game week bitching about how broken the game is and avoiding and frustrating my opponents. Then, quitting like half way through as if I didn't know what I was getting into. In fact, the biggest temptation right now is that there are no Reba fans! It's also the biggest deterrent to NCAA.

I'll see what the demo is like and then I'll see what the GAFers are saying about it after release. I'll make up my mind then. If there's still a spot, I'll join. If not, I'd already be in the NCAA league anyway to get my football fill.

And I don't think anyone would buy this game twice. NCAA maybe, but Madden? Nah. Oh, and I figure that "reason" is probably because they're awesome and we boys! I never asked or accepted, though.

I wonder why some people are so baffled by acts of kindness or comradery.
