Xbox and Bethesda Showcase June 12th

Uncanny lack of complaints here.

6 pages of just people getting hyped.
That's largely true but there are several posts making unsubstantiated claims about Starfield being delayed. Imagine MS waiting till a showcase to announce their flagship title for the year is being delayed. "Hey guys I know you're excited for Starfield! Guess what?! IT'S DELAYED! Thanks for tuning in!" People really, REALLY think MS doesn't know what they are doing.

I'm going to go against the grain and think their stated release date will hold. There is no reason to believe otherwise. Looking forward to Forza and Redfall too.

I hope not. Would be nice to enjoy an actually entertaining show without everything being ruined ahead of time with leaks.
I'm sorry but that's impossible. For many reasons but 2 especially:

-Ineptitude from the XBOX Staff to keep secrets.

-The null fear of leaking information under the Xbox NDA by the press, media and devs of Studios. There is not among them the terror to enter the blacklist of MS as in the one of Sony. There are not a few occasions when the leakers decided to discover the XBox announcements and not the PS announcements even knowing both. Sometimes even out of hatred for XBox. Sony ("sony ninjas") tend to be more strict with leakers.

I need my yearly big gaming shows fix and I need it quick.

Fair enough. You provide reasonable thoughts on why it could be delayed. It wouldn't shock me, but I still feel it makes 2022. I don't think they'll worry too much about having multiple games in close proximity. Redfall really would've been perfect for the originally planned summer release though. June would have been perfect considering Xbox's completely barren first half, but even August would be a great fit. Not sure it'll be ready then though.

I'm predicting:
August: Grounded
September: Deathloop
October: Redfall, Forza
November: Starfield

I'm actually not sure there's anything wrong with that cadence. To me, the Age of Empire port and Scorn are small enough releases that it doesn't matter when then come out. Although with how many times Scorn has been delayed, we'll see if it even hits this year.

Yup, Halo Infinite is awesome. I'm not done the campaign yet, but I love it. I'm not interested in the multiplayer at all.
August for Redfall would be great but Jez/Grubb and others have said it's already been delayed internally by three months and since Summer includes September, I can see them just saying, let's delay to February 2023, give the game it's own space and we solve the "empty" first quarter of 2023. June would have been perfect but it will be what it will be. I just want the game to be fully ready for release and the post launch content to be ready for at least the first few months after the game releases so they can be "ahead" instead of potentially being behind.

Your lineup looks good. I don't include Grounded 1.0 because it's been out for two years already. I get it was "early access" or whatever they call it but still out and fully playable. I do think Forza and Deathloop get reversed. I see Motorsport being late September and mid-October, Deathloop. I'm not expecting Deathloop on September 15th. lol. I think they give it a few weeks, build an overview trailer for it to remind those who have forgotten about it and give it two weeks space from Forza since it's more important and four weeks before Starfield which is also more important than Deathloop.

I agree with Age of Empires IV port and Scorn while full/timed exclusive (not sure which) isn't a Microsoft published game so I don't count it. I'm strictly talking about Microsoft's first party titles.

Glad that you're enjoying the campaign as I loved it.

I'm expecting this to be the mother of all events.

Perfect Dark
Fable
Avowed
Starfield
ESVI
Quake reboot
FO3/NV and Oblivion remakes
Hellblade 2
New Forza
Age of Empires 4 (console edition)
Microsoft combat flight simulator
Blue Dragon reboot

And at least five or so brand new IPs.

What do you mean, they've been doing september the last two years

But can you say for sure when they will have their next showcase? Microsoft are sticking to the E3 schedule. Nobody knows when sony are going to have their next showcase. They should also stick to June like with their E3 shows in the past. The way they communicate with fans has changed for the worse over the last few years.

If i had to bet i think sony wants the fall to be when their big show is like Apple. It also distances them from the other summer events

All they need is one big show a year. Needs to be a hour at the least. I was disappointed in the 40 minute show they did last time. It was a bit short for my liking.

Some of these will be shown, but I think you're setting expectations wayyyyyy top high if you expect all of them.

On MS side I'm not sure if they "refuse" to be under them. I think it's the way MS operates now when it comes to big acquisitions.

They don't absorb them under their brand name anymore like back in the Steve Ballmer days. Look at LinkedIn and Github, easy to forget they are now wholly owned by MS.
Didn't even know that

Totally. Skype too.

If MS really wanted to, they could rename all these as MS Github or whatever. But they dont. I wouldnt either. The MS name is still heavy into a corporate image. So anything that is more about outside the office, they'll likely keep as is.

My expectations are at an all-time high for this event. I want two hours of megatons and nothing more.

Yes. He has been tweeting about showing a game and doing recordings at Obsidian so all signs point to a reveal. I expect it to come

I forgot about that Josh Sawyer game and I know next to nothing about it so it would be great to get a reveal and learn more about it at the Xbox showcase.

I strive to train myself to expect, and handle crushing disappointment. That way, nothing can hurt me - and any positive news is a genuine boon.

Just remembered DMC V was revealed at a Microsoft E3 conference, and the event is like 2 or 3 weeks after Dragons Dogma 10th anniversary.

Shouldn't be doing this to myself but yeah, getting quite hyped here.

Same.

I only give a shit about 2 games.

Starfield, Avowed.

Fuck the rest lol
Ahh you just put alot of games on the table there. I'm looking forward to some of the ones we don't know about yet. Playground, Undead, Compulsion, Double Fine, InXile, RARE and The Initiative are due for something. Even Mojang could release the ray traced Minecraft or something else. All of those except RARE were acquired in 2018 I'm sure they've been working on something for the past 3 years. We know what Ninja Theory is up to already! Talk about Power House Studios. MGS should be renamed to that name! It's one-third of the sudios MS has incredible!

They did really good with the series x announcement, that caught everyone off guard.

I'm pretty excited for this but am not going to get too hyped. I hope for a long show blowout of info and such but don't want to be disappointed. I know I'm getting Starfield and I'll love it, can't wait to finally play a new rpg in a new setting I can get lost in. I am praying for another Capcom reveal like DMCV, particularly Dragon's Dogma. I also want another MH World title to play with my friends on a console with a decent party system, plus the graphical fidelity.

If MS wanted to really wow me, get some more Japanese love on Xbox. Gamepass or not I don't care. AI the Insomnium Files and Nonary Games was cool, but give me anything Atlus for the love of GOD! I'd like a good trailer for that next Soul Hackers game. Ah well, I just hope the show is good.

A Souls Hackers 2 trailer would be good and a easy PR win for Xbox. Don't know if it has a marketing deal yet though.

Ya know what'd be even better ?

"And it's coming to Game Pass day 1...

and there's one more thing..

The Phantom Thieves are coming to Xbox with Persona 5 Royal coming on Game Pass".

My predictions:

New game announcement from ID SOFTWARE
Starfield gameplay
Forza 8 gameplay + launch 2022
Scorn release date
Hellblade 2 release date
Avowed gameplay
Redfall gameplay + launch 2022
A plague tale gamepass day1

Possible gameplay/cgi:

Indiana Jones
Contraband
Fable
Cod joins gamepass (can be arranged even before the acquisition goes through)

Wishful thinking:

Rumoured mandalorian game
Any other game that isn't on the list
Not bad but they'll be more than that.

I want 10 minutes of Starfield gameplay. 5 minutes of Forza Motorsport gameplay, with a 2022 release date. At least 5 minutes of Hellblade 2 gameplay with a release date, no later than 1H23. Redfall gameplay with a '22 release date. Some cool Halo mode, maybe BR, for Season 3.

That's the bare minimum I expect. A couple nice bonuses would be cool, maybe Avowed shows some short gameplay segment? Maybe the We Happy Few dudes have something to show? And so on and so on.
Nobody and I mean nobody cares what you want.

Signed,

The Rock

Can we expect Grounded to be released this year?
Would be a great mid-July release, but I am afraid it won't be ready by then.

I hope they don't cram everything into the last 3 months of the year. Especially if a game isn't ready, I'd rather have them delay it to February.

I want them to be done and rid of Grounded so they can move onto Avowed with full force.

Grounded just doesn't have any appeal for me.
