Xbox inviting Xbox Members to test out the March Update (don't beg for invites)

MS said they are aware of this. I believe it's quite rare.
They said hold in the power button for 10 seconds and it should go away. Or power off for 10 seconds(unplug).

The next update should fix the issue

"Quite rare" my ass. This shit has happened maybe 5 or 6 times to me since getting the update. It's a genuine pain in the ass at this point.

I don't know anyone that has the issue out of my friends. And MS did say it's pretty low amount of people having the issue.

Sucks though it's happening to u guys.

Once registered, participants will be able to test the early features included in the update and provide feedback on a private forum and can opt out of future waves.
This part of the article confuses me a bit. Does that mean that if you're invited to get early access to this update that you'll automatically take part in following early access programs?

Edit:
Never mind I should learn to read better.

I don't think the messages have started to be sent out yet
Probable. According to the article they're starting to send invites today.

I had no idea how bad the party system was until the beta for Titanfall.
We had the hardest time partying up and all that jazz.

And now I am getting a weird notification.

"Xbox sign in me"
"Sign in using a controller"
"Couldn't sign you in?

This never happens. I always sign in by voice.

WHY IS IT ASKING ME FOR PASSWORD.

Somehow it lost my account password and I had to re-login with it.

This happen to me early this morning. Really weird.

Like the xbox noticed me, but it said I needed to sign in with a controller instead. Everything looks good now though.

Speak of the devil, just received an invitation :D

Whelp, I'm in..

We’re writing because we’ve selected you – yes, you – to preview Xbox One updates. By now, you should have received a Live Message from Xbox (available on your console and Xbox.com) with a 5x5 code. By redeeming this code, you will be able to install the official update Registration App.

I doubt theres anything like this in it, but I really hope the March update makes some adjustments to the store.

Just gone on it now to check out the price of something and it breaks down like this:

Games --> Features, New Releases, Add-ons, Top Games Right Now, Popular Games, Recommended For You, Popular Game Demos, Top Selling, Top Rated, Popular on Xbox

I want to look at the price for the Ryse seasons pass, so I go to add-ons:

Feature, New releases, popular

With search and use a code in there too.

Click on another option just brings up more menus, more clutter. I could use Kinect but I wanted to browse, store is a mess that needs fixing asap. ID@Xbox first games are out next month, the lack of visibility is going to affect a lot of games. Just get it working like it is on 360

I have been in every beta so far. Expecting a code. About to get ready for work so I won't know for about 8-9 hours..

When do they patch SkyDrive into OneDrive?

Just happened to me. What's going on? Maybe it means we're beta testers. :o

Peeps should say what country they are in if they get selected. Just wanna see if it's US of A only.
Country doesn't seem to matter. I live in The Netherlands, a country were the Xbox One isn't even released yet, and I got invited to it. Thank you MS for not limiting this to a certain country. I
think that they're checking your gamertag history and if you own a Xbox One, based on that they'll invite you or not.

Hmm...opening up the beta seems kind of redundant if all of your friends need to enroll in the beta for you to be able to really test.

It drives me crazy hearing Microsoft refer themselves as "Xbox" like it's a company. "We here at Xbox"....

It's almost as bad Comcast using "Xfinity" in an attempt to hide who is behind the service.

I believe the Xfinity thing and Comcast is more of a legal obligation when they merged with NBC recently. They have to refer to their cable services as XFinity and not Comcast.

Lol. How is it any different than when Playsation refers to itself as Playstation istead of Sony???

Seriously. The MS hate has no bounds. ...

It's sort of a standard way for companies to address themselves in the industry, even by editorial sites.

Except that Microsoft haven't been doing this prior to the xbox ones reVeal and launch. If you think this is "MS hate" please point to examples of The company referring to themselves as Xbox before last years reveal.

Because Sony have been doing that for the last ten years?

You're the one making the statement, why don't you dig up all the examples that you're using as your basis?

It is a company, Xbox is a company under the Microsoft group

Question for those who got invited: Have you already received your code? I've only received the e-mail and haven't yet received a code via XBL.
Is the fix to reboot the xbox, every time? I haven't had this bug yet.
Had this after the update was done and I rebooted the consoles. Pulling the plug once it was powered off again fixed it for me. Never seen the black screen again.
Is there an NDA, can we get videos? :)
Don't know yet. There wasn't anything about a NDA in the invitation e-mail I received. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a NDA, some of the prefers early access programs for the dashboard on the 360 had NDAs.

I think I'll just wait for the actual update even if I get an invite. Last time I tested out an update on the 360 the bloody thing was updating all the time and the file sizes weren't small either.

Kinda logical, as you're supposed to be testing the new version of the OS. Of course they'll be improving that version as much as they can, and pushing updates to you to test/fumble around with it. That's what a beta program is for.
