I'm gonna go to the MS store on Thursday to get hyped.
I thought you were a MS store.. This changes everything.

Crimson Dragon has been met with some pretty poor scores but I'm still willing to give it a chance, I love me some rail shooters.
A UI shouldn't be a "feature", the less intrusive the better, snappy, accurate, reliable, that's all you need.
I've just bought a laptop, my first experience of Windows 8.0 (now 8.1), looks nice, but the tiles & apps, are nothing more than an inconvenience, getting in the way of accessing the desktop as quickly as I would like.
Speech recognition, that's the definition of a gimmick, most of us have it on our phones these days, I doubt many have actually used the feature, after the initial novelty value.
It's also worth pointing out UI's, and all that's associated with them, evolve over time, it's not a set in stone feature set.
Kinda just talking to myself here but after not owning a console for a few years I'm ready to get a next gen one. I honestly have no idea which to get. I am a graphics whore but I'm assuming they are too close to be noticeable?
Um, where did I say UI was a feature? I said in terms of usability and functionality the XB1 is looking really good.A UI shouldn't be a "feature", the less intrusive the better, snappy, accurate, reliable, that's all you need.

For the controller.
So you can power on the console, duh.
The controller doesn't have a built in battery. You can buy a charge and play kit for it though.
If you don't mind changing out batteries every now and then, then I would say so. I've used Eneloops in my 360 controllers for a year or so now and love how they don't lose much of their charge if you're not using the controller for long periods of time.
Didn't realize the controller doesn't have a built-in battery, kind of surprising in 2013

Get that non-Day One GARBAGE out of my god damn face.

Nothing to do with 2013, they chose it to be that way as they like to give options. They've said that enough.

Doesn't the PS4 controller only last like 8 hours or something? I think Microsoft made the right decision with this one

Do it!So Amazon is putting Day One editions back on preorder tomorrow morning at 8 AM EST, I'm assuming for Friday delivery. Sort of considering picking one up now.
I'm really only semi-interested in Forza and KI, but I'm one of those people who buys everything on Day One. Don't know what to do.
Yep best thing is I just pull my Eneloops out of my 360 controllers and plop them into the new ones. No fuss no muss.
Xbox On, Xbox Music, Artist: A Wilhelm Scream, Album: Partycrasher

Listening to the KI music suite and I'm addicted to Orchid's theme. Freakin awesome!

GIF stopped working
I think you can set favorites? So Kinect can turn my receiver on/off too? That is actually pretty cool.
Does anyone know how Kinect detects channels and distinguishes between SD and HD? Like for example I say "Xbox, ESPN". How does Kinect know to go to my HD ESPN channel and not the SD channel?

It's frustrating when you forget to charge your controller and then you need to be tethered to the console if you want to play.No idea, I don't own a PS4. But I don't think it's hard to plug in the controller when you're done playing to charge up, most people don't have 8 hour long marathon sessions.
Anybody know - does the IR blaster for the cable box sit within the Kinect or is it a seperate feed? I'm wondering how a line of sight signal like infrared is going to work with my setup as it is shelved and I want the Kinect up high.
Why do people insist on coming in here and arguing against people that are excited for the console? It's a real party proper. I doubt very many were going into the ps4 thread and trying to rain on the parade. Why can't everyone celebrate next gen together
Well, look what I found at work today. I picked one of the boxes up and they're pretty hefty.
