Man I was rather disappointed about Zoo Tycoon, what I have seen of the game looks really cool. However, for whatever reason, I was expecting it to be a 20ish dollar cheapy download. Sucks it is full on $60, gonna have to wait on a sale for that one.

Best thing about Halo Spartan Ops is the sizzling of the turret once you deplete it. Also the fact that I got squashed by a vehicle I needed to escort and the game crashed.

okay, so I got an Xbox One this weekend. I'm having a lot of fun (dat Killer Instinct!) and the game selection is pretty damn good for launch IMO. I hope they can keep the games coming consistently throughout the years, unlike the 360 which was amazing until the Kinect came out and the amount of exclusives dwindled from that point on. not gonna lie, I'll probably also get a PS4 in the future, just like how I grabbed a PS3 towards the end of last gen.

here are some of my concerns on the Xbox One though:

- I can't use my current gen arcade stick... I guess this was to be expected though. Apparently an easy fix with the CronusMax (does anybody have one? if so, is there any input lag?)

- the hell did they do to the party system? it was perfect on the 360. I'm not a fan of this auto invite system that they have either, I want to be able to just go to my friend's profile and click "invite to game".

- the guide system is too clunky. there should be a mini on-screen guide that overlays on top of your current game. right now it's too much work compared to the 360 to look at something really quick like achievements without completely interrupting your game. I also don't like that you can't hear the game in the background when you're using another app, I used to rely on sound cues when looking at my friends list or something to know when to close the guide and resume the game.

- they really need to revamp the games library menu. why are the apps and games all thrown into one menu? it's going to be even more of a disaster once more games and apps come out. to be honest, all I really want is a cover flow for my digital games library (that game be organized by preference, mine being alphabetical) like on the 360. another unnecessary change...

- the kinect is often recognizing me as another profile rather than my own. will it eventually learn how to detect the right user consistently?

in the end, I'm having a lot of fun playing the games on my Xbox One. but I think the UI needs some work... hopefully they will patch it in the near future. honestly, they just need to reference the 360. everything the 360 did in terms of functionality was perfect, they just need to emulate that and we're good! maybe they'll fix it in time for Titanfall..

Going back into Ryse. Forgot how damn good that game looks. Also my XB1 definitely updated it while it was in standby, they finally got rid of that awful execution pic that is the first thing you see when you press pause.

Ha Peggle is the worst about it, even major nelson said they need to relax with the clips. Ryse, forza and other aren't that bad.

Peggle is really bad, but FIFA is worse.

Agree with everything. You'll get used to the OS over time, but it needs work.

To stop Kinect getting you mixed up:

-Log in as the profile you DONT want to be recognised as.

-Go to settings> sign-in, security and passkey

-Delete the Kinect sign in data

The next part requires the other persons presence.

- Go to the sign in screen and choose "I was not recognised"

- Get the person who actually owns that profile and get Kinect to select them for the sign in data.


That's how I fixed that problem.

Really hope they change the icon on the clip recorded notification to not be a trophy. If I just Catch a glimpse of the notification out of the corner of my eye and don't get a chance to read it I get excited and think I got a achievement, only to then realise once I check that I am a loser who cheeves nothing.

Just beat Max, dang that was fun!

Overall the pacing was great, good mixture of puzzles, action sequences, and platforming.
Those last few chapters were incredible.

I actually thought the final boss was awesome.

I really enjoyed how much it felt like an old school platformer. The comedy, the music, the boss fights, etc.
Some of the songs could be copy and pasted right into a banjo-kazooie game and work perfectly. (hint, hint Microsoft)

Happens with FIFA, Peggle and even within 20 mins of booting up Halo: Spartan Assault.

Microsoft have done a great job with their exclusives.

Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Forza, Zoo Tycoon, Powerstar Golf, Killer Instinct, Lococycle, Crimson Dragon, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, Halo: Spartan Assault (Peggle 2 I guess as a timed exclusive from EA?).

Theres a ton of variety in those games, lots to do and most are good/great games. And obviously that doesn't include third party games like Fifa, COD, BF, Assassins Creed IV etc, so much to play so little time.

If 2014 carries on like this, my wallet is going to weep.

Well their vision is that the xbox is turned on for the entire duration that your TV is turned on so its actually pretty in keeping with their vision lol.

They expect that when you walk into your living room, you say "xbox on" or press the power button on the console to turn on your TV.

Their vision is to have the Xbox control the TV and to be able to switch instantly from TV to games. The XBox obviously has to be on for that.

So far the game is fun. The turrets make the controller do crazy when they are about to explode. The game chugged a few times which was surprising to me.

marketplace always charged me tax if you pay at the time of sale. they did not charge tax when you paid with points because buying points was taxed

I guess you can always set your address somewhere with no sales tax like Oregon or Delaware

Thats why ive decided against physical copies altogether this gen and wgy I personally didn't feel ms was trying to ruin my life with their old drm.

Every next gen game I have so far is digital.

That means I can have my xb1 permanently hidden away in a nearby cupboard , never to be seen, heard or touched.

All I ever see of the console is its UI and kinect.

Also, if I pick the US as my region on the X1 and buy digital games, will I be able to play them after I change to the Uk and maybe in the future to Portugal?
