It looks like that yeah. It's looking that starting this fall Ms is planning a stream great games, and I suspect it won't end in 2016.

Just counting retail titles from this month on Ms has more than 12 already announced, add in digital only games, surprise announcements (and some not so surprising like Forza Horizon 3) and multiplats and I seriously have no idea how I'm going to find the time to play all the games I want to play.

The only thing this line up is missing for me is that it's time for us to get sequels on previously released titles. I would love DR4, Ryse 2, Sunset 2 and a new Max game for starters.

Still doesn't fill me with confidence, they are just a porting studio normally yes?

Yeah no mans sky is listed at £40 on amazon uk so prices mean nothing.

Yes, not that it means they can't make AAA though.

But... it's small team (30 employees). Add to that the somewhat short production period for a new IP (less than a year), for me that pretty much confirms Recore won't be an AAA game.

I still think it's going to be a digital game. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I think people expecting a new 'Triple-A' franchise are going to be disappointed.

So what? It's the most interesting exclusive Xbox has. Ueda's team is usually not much bigger than 30, yet he still produces masterpieces. The most interesting Ubisoft games are from Ubiart, those games are usually made by less than 30 people. The most interesting announcement out of EA's conference is a game made by less than 30 people. The Tomorrow Children is one of the most interesting games that will come out this year, & again made by less than 30 people.

I'd say Recore being made by 30 people is a good thing.

Uh...do we know how long they've been in development? Just because they only announced at E3 doesn't mean they started developing it then and there.

Does Crackdown even have a 2016 release date ?
I remember something confusing about the multiplayer being available on 2016 (a Beta ?) but that's about it. If anything I expect it to be delayed to 2017.

Actually there was a quote saying the full production was only beginning when the game was announced a couple of months ago

At E3, they said it was in development for 14 months and that they had just started the production phase.

So when I hear two years is kind of typical for development, is that counting or discounting that initial year of preproduction? Honestly curious if what they've set as their timetable is short.

Not for new IPs, a new AAA IP usually take 3 years or more. Sequels take less time in development mainly because they share some assets and gameplay mechanics with previous entries.

I see; thanks for explaining. I was wondering why people were saying with such certainty that the game probably isn't as big as one might hope when it seemed to me that we know very little about it to this point.

At the end of the day, scope kind of matters very little to me. If the game is good and it only costs me $20 to boot, I'm not going to complain. Ori is one of my favorite games on the Xbox One, after all.

After what I saw from Gamescom, I'm really looking forward to Quantum Break and Scalebound now (just hope Platinum improves the framerate and animations in time for release, but I'm sure they will). Recore and Halo Wars 2 may end up joining them, but they need to show actual gameplay of them first. On a related note, I wouldn't be surprised if Raiden V ends up being a 2016 title, since they unfortunately haven't shown anything new about it in quite a while. I'm also hoping we get more seasons of D4 next year.

It's a metroid prime influenced adventure with a shape shifting desert as the centre piece and a re animation mechanic from my reading. There's a neat article over at eurogamer I believe

I'm gonna take a look at this article, thank you

MS did great at Gamescom to be honest. Quantum Break, Scalebound, Crackdown, and Tomb Raider all look really good, and all bring something different to the table. Crackdown's destruction is immensely impressive, and Quantum Break just looks fantastic all around. This year has been really slow so far for Xbox but the future is looking bright.

Looking forward to Quantum Break, Gears of War 4, and Halo Wars 2. Scalebound looks good, but I can't tell if I'd like the combat. I know it's from PG, but it still didn't look too great from watching it. It's on of those things that I need to play to know for sure

Microsoft seems to be getting good steady number of exclusives through the door. Also expect some games at e3 to be thrown at us!

It is. Very glad to see Microsoft focusing so much on core games. In terms of big core titles this reminds me of the early PS3 years where they are pushing hard for quality big titles. It was the reason I loved PS3 during those years (2007-2011) and its why ive loved the Xbox One so much.
