I'm on pc and didn't know Hitman were console exclusive? Is it timed?

But the game is also kinda time exclusive on pc as its only on epic store.

It's just insane how badly the Xbox brand is handled. Seeing how great it was during the og and the x360, just to see the brand fall further down into the eternal pit.

Could this be a move to combine base Gamepass with Gold excluding ea play and all the other perks/dlc?

You can still buy 12m cards everywhere for $59 so I'm not sure if this is real. Hopefully a journalist jumps on it so we can know if its real or not
 
Makes sense. They are probably getting ready to roll Gold into Game Pass, which is also coincidentally ten dollars a month.

On principle, if this is real I'll go back to my Steam/GOG PC as my primary, PS5/Switch for exclusives. That's basically where I was for 2014-16. I'd of course periodically use one of my stockpiled Gold subs to keep my Xboxes in the family rotation...but I wouldn't be jumping back into Gamepass or Gold in perpetuity or be spending any new money on subs.

This type of price hike would absolutely be anti - consumer, and could make the backlash they received for the Xbone reveal seem tame.

I just can't imagine this is true...it feels too stupid for words...we shall see.

I'm just saying that even if this turned out to be true at least something positive happened for Xbox. We are after all talking about the console since Xbox on PC doesn't have paid online to my knowledge.

Yeah I can also only see this as some good photoshopping.

If not, then team Green doesn't have long again. What's the point of saying "Sony increase prices to 89 euro while we maintain 60 euro", only to double the price for gold, which is needed because of the multiplayer pay wall. Its insane.

I'm glad I jumped back into pc gaming two years ago. I became a console gamer early prev gen, left and became pc only gamer when the same gen was about to be done.

And neither next gen console seems interesting to me anyway so I'm free from hideous subs besides mmos if I want to play these. But they don't disable your online capabilities if you don't pay.

Some MMOs do have a reason for subscriptions like the ones that provide content regularly for example. But I agree with you they your typical game shouldn't have it. But thankfully I stick to single player games for the most part. But it does suck that I have to pay if I want to anything online besides those FTP games.

This could still be that plan. I actually said they would make live more and more expensive before they got rid of the 12 month cards. Now they are charging the yearly cost for 6 months. 6 months Gamepass Ultimate is how much in dollars and includes 'live'? They are making it more and more costly to buy gold and there is more incentive to just get Ultimate until there is no "live gold" anymore, just gamepass.
 
It would suck if true and a obvious wrong move by Microsoft, but why all the sudden is everyone believing this as fact? Without no other confirmation or proof? And since the guy mentioned about receiving a stack of them, it could very well be a misprint as well.

I'm not saying it's false, or as some of you would call it "FUD" but I wouldn't believe this until some sort of official confirmation.

I didn't actually. I probably should since I have GamePass Ultimate. But I got the deal for $1 if you already have Gold, so I guess that's why I figured you needed Gold (because you did for that promo). I actually rebought a year of Gold to take advantage of that promo.

Does the version for just Xbox and not PC also include Gold?

If legit, Phil must've been licking his lips with the cross play initiatives coming to fruition. Any drops in online play on Xbox will be less felt.

If 30% of players drop online, yet price is 100% more, it's a win for ms back pocket.
 
I never had an Xbox, but I remember very clearly that for the longest time it was about $50 for the whole year.

So, it went up considerably..
 
Its so clear and self evident that MS game here is to transition as many Gold users as possible to Gamepass.
Some seem to forget that corporations are there to make profit: They wont just close a profitable program until they reach a certain threshold.
I guesstimate that by E3 or Gamescom usual dates this year Gold will be phased out.
 
What y'all don't understand is that this confirms those rumors from last year. Clearly MS is hiking up the price just to make it feel all the better when they make it free.

He already was licking his lips with the free to play games requiring Live. With crossplay he was reaping the benefits of people paying for Live without the low gold player count of an already low install base console.

You can join a service, play the game(s) you want, cancel, then go join the next service and repeat. I did 2 months on Ubisoft and it was fine. I will go back when I need to.
 
They are just trying to force XBLG subscribers to switch to GPU. And once most people have switched over then they will raise the price of GPU as well.

Maths didn't add up at all for Gamepass and price had to go up or there wouldn't be AAA games on it. Here we are, although the money is taken on Gold for now, which is mostly the same.

Now every Xbox fan will start to pay for Bethesda $7.5 billion buy and it isn't cheap. Power your wallet. You'll need a second job to choose Xbox.

Subscription models don't make much sense in gaming. You end up paying a lot AND never being able to play the games you want when you want.

I predicted a price increase for the subscription services, but there is no way Microsoft is crazy enough to charge double the price for their subscription service, especially when they are trailing behind the competition. Maybe unless they are putting Gamepass Ultimate on there as well or something that we don't know about. IF this is legitimate, Sony's probably increasing as well.

Would be my guess as well but if Sony wanted a real kill shot for the generation, they could just make online free again. That's not likely as you'd have to figure out what to do with with existing subscriptions (either refund or offer something more than the free game offering).
 
I have bad feeling that it could be real, I don't care about gold, but if the Game Pass Ultimate also prie hike, I will degrade myself to Game Pass for Xbox...

They are now making Xbox Live Gold cost $120/year.
Game Pass is $120/year as well.
So the 2 would cost $240/year on their own.

Its Xbox's way to make Game Pass Ultimate at $180/year look like a value. Raise the price of Live.
 
Retail receiving the cards is completely different on selling them. They need to have stock for when MS announces the new price.

What the pics tells us is that the announce is very close.
