Xbox Series sales fall 30% year on year

Well we have Microsoft's sworn testimony that the xbox consoles never made a profit if that can be accepted as reliable...

"The Washington-based tech giant sells every Xbox at a loss, according to sworn testimony from Microsoft's VP of Xbox business development Lori Wright.

"Has Microsoft ever earned a profit on the sale of an Xbox console?" she was asked. "No," she said."

This can absolutely be true, and the console never makes a profit. The 360 gen was profitable thanks to excellent first and third party sales.

If Sony's PS3 generation was expected to turn a profit on hardware alone, they would have been billions in the hole.

This thing's really dead, huh? But am I the only one who felt like Xbox went into a nosedive with no way back starting from that hellish first month when they revealed the Xbox One? That's when the path was set for everything we're seeing today.

Xbox 360 did 85 million?

PS5 will likely overtake that in the next few years. It will pass the PS3's sales figures, too.

They reached 77.8m in March, they'll likely overtake that 360 total in Nov/Dec this year.

With GTA6 and COD being next gen only 2026 could end up being the biggest single year of PlayStation console sales yet.

They admitted this to create noise in the communication.

The rumor was that the entire Xbox division never made a profit, and when it did, the profit was less than the accumulated losses.

And now every time you look for a rumor about the Xbox division making a loss, the rumor will be buried in the middle of official news from MS admitting that the Xbox hardware never made a loss.

A few months ago, I went looking for the news about Phil saying that major Xbox games weren't coming to PC, when they announced they would release Xbox games on PC.

I couldn't find it because I was overwhelmed with news about "Phill says this and that about exclusives and PC games"

Really hope those games are this gen only but as far as COD is concerned we will see how accurate that rumor is which the guy who started it is very well known for COD leaks

My experience with Xbox customers on this forum is their frequent additions of the Empathy emote on my posts. At least until the Xbox 3rd party incident last year. Then it quiets down.

My interpretation is that they are suppose to feel sorry for me that i am not in their cult? That i am not saved by the holy word of Phil? Because since i have no current skin in the Console wars, i really don't know what they are feeling empathy for. (That guy with a Final Fantasy black mage avatar, especially. Don't know where he is gone these days. )

Frankly i rather that they argue with me directly and refute my points in the thread itself, instead of dropping Empathy Emotes that are beyond my comprehension. If they think i am wrong I am happy to hear what they have to say.

One of the strategies of people without arguments is to start discussing feelings.

You list several lies that Phil Spencer told, for example, and the Xbox fan comes and responds:

"Wow, you hate Phil Spencer and Xbox."

It's the same principle as the emotions they leave behind for you.

Yeah but they never rectified any of it. The game library of Xbox one is trash. If they knew how to fucking make good games, people would have forgotten all that Xbox one reveal shit. Contrast that to how Sony handled PS3 from late 2008 onwards. It's night and day. Sony were extremely gamer focused and won everyone over by the end of the gen with high quality games that were aimed at the core gamer.

Nah I still felt they had a chance to turn it around at the time. I loved my 360 and waited to see if they would. By the end of Xbox one it wasn't even a question at that point I was never going back.

"Being developed on Dev Kits for the next Xbox" - completely believable, those have already been shown publicly:
