Not sure there's a point in having a dedicated console anymore then? Really hard to justify buying a Xbox over a PC. I know for current AAA games the price to performance ratio isn't bad, but think about the giant catalog you'd develop as a PC gamer overtime? No need to pray for backwards compatibility when upgrade time comes.

I think they lack of excellence at their first party really is their achilles heel: Halo, Starfield, Redfall. There are no grand slams or even home runs. I think Microsoft's corporate culture basically fuck everything it acquires. Essentially their infinite bank account from Office subscriptions is a double edged sword.

This is my thing with the requests for the gaming focused mode on windows or whatever. At least my first thing. I don't know how they roll out of bed one day and decide to get good at that.

It's absolutely baffling that they haven't already created some kind of gaming focused/specific windows OS already.

It would solve a lot of the overhead and general perfomance issues that have plagued windows/directX in recent years and it would have allowed them to put their own PC store along with gamepass front and center.

What is funny about the inner workings of team green is I have heard Phil talk about certain games (when Ybarra was still with Xbox years ago) that were close to reveal and still waiting on them, never heard another peep about said games.

Yeah, except this same thread is over on the purple site and the denial over there is EXCEEDINGLY strong. I'd always believed they had a very strong MS proponent(they actively cheerled the Acti Blizz merger and got "mortified" when the layoffs showed up as everyone tried to warn them)

The usual "Jez doesn't know" there but it's less about how we've spoken about it here and more just pure denial that Xbox multiplatform is the future.

It seemed very likely for a while now, but for me it was confirmed after Indiana was announced for PS5 before the game was even out and now with the Outer Worlds 2 being on PS5 day one. The only question I have is what happens to their older releases and if they'll be porting all of them.

I’d bet more popular titles might catch a port with some exceptions.

Older Forza’s won’t make the leap, but I bet new ones will.
