Xbox will show the PlayStation logo in their showcases from now on, says Phil Spencer

Who cares? Sony will release games on Xbox too.
Nah that ain't happening, unless you talk about MLB The Show.

If a future "Xbox PC" is Windows based and have access to Steam then you might see PS games on Xbox, but the performance will be terrible since nothing will be optimized for it and it'll be weak for a PC.

Lol, zero benefit for them to do so.

Meanwhile Helldivers 2 is sold most on PC. I don't think they will be botching PC releases purposefully. Secondly Marathon will be releasing on Xbox. So I'm not crazy.

Isn't that what the rumored emulation team is supposed to fix? So you can play your existing Xbox library on the Xbox App on PC?

Perhaps. There's the "older" game emulation going back to 360 and before. If they are working on "emulating" Xbox One and Xbox Series then that would definitely solve a lot of issue with moving away from consoles entirely.

Xbox ppl. Just move to pc. Hell you will feel more at home there then anything. I promise you. Even in time, them sony bros be moving to pc too
No chance, fuck pc gaming, especially at these prices. And don't come up with mid builds with cheap tags to match a ps5, no sane gamer would build a gaming pc just to match a ps5.

Also, no way I'm going to wait for pc ports that may come or not, which end up bad at release anyway. GTA6 alone would have been a reason for me to abonden pc, not going to wait a year for that either. Maybe I won't be alive by then, so again, fuck pc gaming.

Not going to happen. There would be no way this happens because the publisher would not give up PC sales by allowing MS to just port over a game library. They would require the publishers input for each game and there is little reason they would accept especially if some are migrating their library and rebuying.

Yeah, probably right. So what do you make of this new BC initiative MS is working on? Just more console stuff?

He's just trying to recruit, pay him no mind.

I'm not sure. I suspect that their BC hiring is related to going ARM hybrid and needing old games to run but I have no idea what they're working on. They may publish some MGS games that never came to PC with some form of emulation/BC but I doubt they will allow you to run your Xbox library on PC.

Lol! Why in the world would they do this?

You are going to have to come to terms that Xbox lost the console war. Sure, they may continue in some for or other, but in terms of the classic fight, they blinked first…. And lost. To Sony, Nintendo, (but really, Steam)

I believe they're doing both, a complete Xbox hardware emulation solution.

Xbox, Xbox 360 should be easy peasy. Xbox One shouldn't be too difficult either since they got that working even with frame boost on Series. But Xbox Series X emulation will be tricky, I would expect that to be solved last.

My concern for Series emulation is that they'll fall back on a cloud streaming solution at first. Then it's up to all of us to raise our voices so they don't think that's enough. Especially Xbox fans and influencers like Parris and Colt etc needs to stop being defensive at that point! Cloud streaming is not enough!

Sony won't have to botch anything purposefully. A new Xbox console running regular Steam games just won't be powerful enough to run the PS games well.

In short, nothing is optimized to the metal on PC and you never have 1:1 console settings available. Things can run well on PC because of brute forcing with powerful hardware. But that won't happen on an Windows based console costing $500 or $1000 or even $1500.

Go look at Steam Deck running Cyberpunk 2077 versus CDPR optimizing the game to the metal running on Switch 2. That's basically the difference you'll see on an Xbox console running Steam, no optimization to the metal there. So while the PlayStation games will be there, be prepared to play on lower settings and resolutions.

I don't think we'll see any more ports of Xbox games.

From now I think all new games will come to PS5 and Switch 2, but older games like Halo MCC, Flight Sim and Starfield, will remain on Xbox PC only.

Just a hunch.

They are all rumoured for the end of the year...(Halo just the remake of first one)

You mean the games that Bungie themselves said would stay multiplatform? Try again champ.

You asked a question, the answer was completed in those parameters, yet again you moved the goal posts for the second time 😂

Keep my reaction score going up please, surprised you don't get paid for that act 🙏🏻

Ha. I knew the MCC wouldn't be coming to PS5 and Switch 2.

People laughed at me, but clealry I'm the one with the industry knowledge.

💥

This is why they're not having a live show. They would get booed out of the building by the die hard fans. I hope they just come out and say our next console has been cancelled. Just kill it already.

Lose MLB license or release on Xbox. I'm sure MLB was ecstatic about the 3 sales they got from the Xbox platform.
They weren't going to "lose the license." They just purchased the 3rd party one when their 1st party license was up for renewal. They now have the Madden of baseball games.

What they need to do is bring it to the PC.

Well they will make more money than ever.
They better. They bought Activision. If they bought Activision and didn't make more money than ever then they would have the biggest fuck up of all time on their hands.

The problem is they aren't making ENOUGH more than ever.

Nintendo, Sony, Steam, everyone is making more than ever. Xbox is struggling to keep above water. They need to make gamepass more popular on PC and charge more for it on PC to make up for the people that will leave once this console gen is over and nobody buys the next XboxPC becasue 1. they were burned on XSX 2. consoles jump in price considerably 3. consoles become much less culturally relevant.

Active console players are a captive gamepass audience. If they lose that I'm unsure PC will be able to sustain gamepass all on its own. That is a large amount of PC gamer money that will need to be generated and provided to Microsoft by historically frugal PC gamers. Ask the PC guys? Are you ready to pick up Xboxes slack with your wallet? Another big issue is PC gamers on average are more savvy than console gamers because they are older. They also use a PC all the time instead of their phone for business. They also won't pay for online so there is no incentive with paying for online to justify the purchase. That means they are more likely to cancel gamepass on months they don't use it which is bad news for any streaming service. You want people paying every month, you do not want super savvy customers that will take more than they give. I'm not seeing an out for old Xbox.

When you start to humanize the demos they are looking at and thinking who will pay to prop shit up and who won't, I just can't see Xbox fans converting to PC to prop up the brand. I think they may have that idea, but once they get there all their band loyalty will be gone. PC people aren't born, they are forged in the fires of sacrifice, stress, and loneliness. Nextbox PC may be their crucible but it will not be their final form. These ramblings here are righter than Phil Spencer. Think about that.

True. However, MLB decided 1st party license was no longer an option on renewal. This boiled down to "lose license or release multi-platform". I'm sure a PC release is imminent.

Which was forced

I wont go into a lot of details but MLB had someone else lined up to publish the game unless Sony agreed to multiplat, a true 3rd party publisher

Well according to Ybarra a couple of months before it was ever made public it was coming to Xbox

What an age we live in, i rememeber the console war days where this type of news would cause fan boys to have a brain aneurysm.

Glad those days are over.........................................................

You're glad competition has been reduced? What a weird stance to take.
