I got the corrupt files message, restarted steam. It downloaded 8.9M and now I'm in game.

Yep. It's working now, but every couple of minutes it switches to 'limited access' and I lose Internet access. Probably a good way to corrupt my preload given I'm usually 10% through the unlock when it occurs...

Edit: looks like it manged to work for long enough for the game to unlock! Yay

I'm guessing spotflux was getting hammered for a minute.

I'm worried because my normal XCOM tactics will not work on this game. I'm one of those guys who throws waves of rookies in front of my elite killing machines to flush out the enemy.

They don't it yet, but they just put Zapp Brannigan in charge of XCOM.
