Xenoblade 2 Announced (Not XCX, new sequel to XB, ACE music, 2017)

Interesting that they are apparently distancing themselves from X (which I thougt was meh) and that they are going back to the roots, the brilliant Xenoblade Chronicles. Except the art style, which is more anime than ever, it really looked a lot like Chronicles.
 
I was so happy when this got announced! Like I was crying tears of joy!
This alone makes me happy I'm buying a Switch.

I'm glad that they're making a sequel to a game that ended pretty definitively instead of making a sequel to a game that ended on a massive cliffhanger.
 
Was this thing like... the chars were in an anime style but the world looked semi-realistic? My brain couldnt handle it

It might be due to the ending in the original

It's been awhile but I vaguely remembered
Shulk returning the world to its original form without the two gods and something about letting the people decide their own fate
 
I went full "Holy shit" as soon as the red sword appeared on screen at the end.

Definitely did not expect a new Xenoblade announcement, let alone a Chronicles "2" since I thought "X" already had that role.

Interested to see where they're going with the series.

This. Or maybe this is another team working on it. While X is still getting a sequel? I find it hard to believe they're not working on a sequel to X.

Looks amazing though. I'm getting Baten Kaitos vibes.

Technically speaking, it could still be the same timeline.

It's hinted at that X takes place many, many, many thousands of years after Xenoblade, and having a direct sequel to the original wouldn't impede on that. I would assume that the big story hook for X was that the universe was going to be coming up to a similar event that would reset everything again like Zanza had done before, so there's still a hell of a lot of time to get to that point.
 
That was a bit disappointing. It looks like a redo of the original, but with less original, more generic anime-ish designs. For example: The whale.

Also, for people complaining about the boy's costume: Nobody would be questioning it if it was being worn by a girl.

Did you even play the original game? Do I need to remind you that it had people flying and fighting all over the place while wielding giant swords? The last dungeon and boss was as anime as you can get.
 
Looks amazing. Way better character models and art than they crap they had in the last two. Also, no Sawano thank god.

This feels so good. Xenoblade is one of the greatest RPGs of all time, XCX a really puzzling misstep. The implication of this sequel is that they acknowledge this, and that makes my day.
 
Game looked awesome, plus the original composers are back (I liked XCX soundtrack too but the original was way better). Couldn't be more excited.

I loved the original story music gameplay and characters. Not feeling the little kid protagonist but since is xbc2 I'll give it a chance
 
Yo, Xenoblade sequel Let's go! This and Fire Emblem Warriors made the presentation for me.

How long before the localization debate kicks off.

They can just continue that story in manga format or novels.

Despite what that tweet says I don't believe 2017 at all. They just shipped XCX just under two years ago. That team takes awhile. 2018 earliest.

If it's 2017 Japan perfect since I always import (and region free is sweet).

So they can begin Xenoblade X2 or Xenoblade 3 while I play the second one.
