LOL YOU CAN TELL THEY WERE NOT HAPPY WITH X.

Ugh at the character designs. XCX's designs weren't that inspired but I'll take it over the bland Tales-esque anime look. It doesn't really bother me that this isn't following up on XCX since most gameplay mechanics were middling (and the story was awful) so hopefully this is working from a fresh slate. XC's ending gives the opportunity to do anything (as we saw with XCX).
The most bizarre part is that XCX was already setup as a sequel to XC.
Awesome.
I don't get how it is Xenoblade 2 though, doesn't seem like a sequel to the original or X.
Also, probably not until 2018.

Maybe they mean to have the main and X series in parallel to one another? Like have XBC2 and then later on a XBCX2.
Split timeline?
Holy shit indeed. They turned Xenoblade into fucking anime.
Lets just consider Xenoblade X his Xenosaga 2 of this generation. This is the true sequel to Xenoblade.
Yeah, as much as I'm excited for Xenoblade 2.
I'm actually pretty annoyed that they've just left it on that cliffhanger. It was a shit cliffhanger anyway, but, at least I thought it might have been solved before. Argh!
Why. Why is this anime.
It clashes so horrendously with the 3D environment. If they needed to go anime they could have used Kozaki's designs or just scrap the 2D design part of it altogether. How do they plan to sell this to more international territories like this.
Why. Did they just give up on 3D character models? There was a middle ground to take and they just ignored it.
Why.
Look at the weapon and environment and enemy textures and then back at the characters. Tell me you aren't confused as FK.
That's what I'm hoping. Love them both, but for very different reasons. If anything I think this strengthens the likelihood of XCX2. They're going for an alternating pattern.
