That's nothing man. I've poured my life into learning everything about this game for OVER 2 YEARS at this point. I was right there at the initial reveal, and we've been discussing and analyzing everything since then with a core community that's been together the entire time.
Sawano is a great overall composer, I'm a fan, but I don't like his vocal stuff that much. I prefer his softer, more atmospheric instrumental tracks. Here's my favourite track from the game so far, from 0:23-2:27:

Anyways I'm fully expecting the overall OST to be better than Xenoblade Wii, as much as I loved that games OST. We'll definitely have more... uhh, unique songs.. for lack of a better word. But we'll also get amazing songs like the one I linked above.
Yeah, that's definitely where Sawano is best, making music that amplifies the emotion and intensity of the scene or context it goes with. He's ace at that.
If I'm reading correctly, says how the full track is 5min long, we've only gotten a 2:42 cut of it. He mentions they're making several variations of each track.. so the 2:42 long version we got is only one cut from the full track. They're actively cutting and mixing tracks, meaning we'll have different cuts playing in different areas and scenes, effectively enhancing the variety of the soundtrack (since they don't necessarily start a track from the beginning, and each track can vary a LOT during it's length, as we all saw with the first 2, and this 4th track). Think of the second trailer song with Kobayashi 'The Key we Lost' (

The way the track was used there was pretty awesome, and I doubt anyone would say that the music wasn't effective at enhancing the scene and making it more epic than it might have been otherwise (this is why I love Sawano). Effective use of music at it's finest.
