Haaaaalpppp

Outrun. I have played it for 4+ straight hours and I haven't reached the 3rd stage once. I can consistently get to stage 2, but I feel like I'm simply not improving at all. Always in high gear, always take the left path.

Is there anything I can try/watch to figure out how to get better?

Man oh man, once you
get to chapter 6 Kamurocho becomes really interesting in terms of all the side stuff you can do between the business management, betting on the cat fights, karaoke, disco, telephone club, and all the substories that appear
. Yakuza is seriously on another level with all the side stuff filled in the cities. There is truly a breadth of content packed into the city compared to what other games do with their bigger worlds. Every area in Kamurocho doesn't feel wasted. There's at least something at every corner, down every street, for you to go to if you want.

I'm interested to see how much Sotenbori expands when I go back there.

So how is it guys? Won't get a chance to play until next week.

Is it better than Yakuza 5? I really can't drum up the enthusiasm required to finish that game.

Most people are saying either it's the best Yakuza game yet, or tied with Yakuza 2.

So yeah, you are in for a treat. Yakuza 5 inversely is on the lower rungs of the ladder.

I felt burnt out after Yakuza 5, finished the game earlier this month. But after a dance session at Maharaja, I feel refreshed now and finally start enjoying the game.

It's really good.

I played and finished 3, 4 and 5.
Yakuza 0 already feels like the best Yakuza game i have played. It really is a super big package of awesomeness.

How do you get Champion's Ring or whatever is equivalent in this game? I think I was stacking 1 or 2 difficulty bumping items in 5 and I want them all for this game.

I ordered the game on saturday and yet Amazon delivered a Business Launch edition anyway. Super psyched to have the cards and the metal clip thingy.

Okay I can no longer beat Mr Shakedown until I get better gear. His stomp attack kills me in one hit even with full health.

Think it'll end up in the upper echelons of my packing order for the series preference. But then again Yakuza 5 is my favourite in the franchise so there's that too.

Use brakes on tight turns. Take right path first , then left path second

Just went back to kyriu.

I enjoy his deadpan but mother of God after playing as majima and his fun fight styles having to come back to this it's a bummer. Every upgrade is way too expensive for me at the moment. And not only that, his main brawler style is super fucking slow at dodging. Beating Mr shake down as kyriu is going to be a hassle considering how slow he is in this style to dodge away.

THIS is the reason im afraid to play Kiwami-2-3-4-5-6 next.

I was able to take out Mr Shakedown with only using two health drinks. Getting the hang of it. Walked with a cool 96 mil. Quickly went away when I upgraded some abilities lol

Mr Shakedown is actually really easy. Get a good weapon and fill your inventory with Tauriner, with Beast and Slugger just go ham with Heat Actions.
He barely stands up before hitting him again. I can beat him without getting hit easy.
And heat actions give you more money, got 2.5 billions last time :p

I have a question:

I am on chapter 2 and don't know where to go
after learning the beast style and I have completed the password challange

If you mean still on the same main quest then there should be a group talking deeper in that alley by the mach bowl that will continue the main quest.

Majima's introduction was amazing indeed. this game just keeps getting better.

also be sure to have an orange in your inventory for some sweet juice action.

(Do the hustle)...Munancho! Crying here. Some of the substories are so great.
"shooreh pippi me instead"

so far I can't think of a single bad substory, they're all either ridiculously wacky or interesting - emotional even - in some ways.

That disco minigame though.....

Loved it at first - nailed it at first

Some of these songs on hard are controller smashingly irritating.

Still love the game.

Listening to the soundtrack, and wow, the BGM for the gravure videos is ridiculously good. Much better than they have any right of being. イメージビデオ "Glamorous Girl" especially sounds like something from a peaceful JRPG town.

i said goddamn

so last night i basically tied up as much as i could with majjy in chapter 3, then bishopcruz got me hunting mr shakedown (there's the usual, and another dude around town too)

i won 2x, 3rd time i'd get him close & then slip up towards the very end, kept losing...ughhhh

finally caught him slipping - sleeping in midday on a bench, right when i was about to go to bed! - took my roomie's advice & stared milking him, only laying off the button a quick second when the ! goes up, and HOLY SHIT dude had 900+ mill on him, which for you later-game kids might not be much but at this point in the game, it cleans up almost all of the boards for me, tons of health & moves now

chapter ended tense, back to kazzy-chan!

I was not expecting that cult story. It seems like it could be based on the real-life Japanese cult Aum Shinrikyo.

Yep, it the worst when you have a good run going, then fuck up the QTE on the last direction, lose you rhythm and get 2 stars. It happened 3 times in a row too, I had to go on a walk I was so pissed.

Also, it might be just me, but it seems way easier with Majima, manage to 3 star most without too much frustration, but with Kiryu have only managed to do 1.

Just finished Ch.4, amazing, now really intrigued by the story, can't wait to see where it goes, I had an "oh no" moment, when it turned out to be an escort mission, but it wasn't too bad.

I am calling it, this is my GOTY, I can't see anything surpassing this, best game I have played in a long while.
