Yeah Bloodbrone is still Miyazaki's magnum opus

It's funny how this fetishizing of lead designers almost never happens to Western Game Developers. It's almost as if the absurd focus on "directors" is a marketing ploy.
Yeah, true.. and FromSoftware realized that, a lot of people don't know anyone at Fromsoft but Miyazaki. they even prefer to call them Miyazaki's games instead of FromSoftware's games.

Like when you find the ones who moaned about how bad Dark Souls 2 was are glorifying Elden Ring not knowing that the executive director and most of DkS2 devs were primarily behind Elden Ring, but as long as Miyazaki's name is in the credit, it's fine.
But this time they played it perfectly by adding GRR, what a perfect combo!

I love Bloodborne but I could not agree more, my favorite FROM hands down.

Once you learn how to play, the game with every encounter constantly tells you..

You can't level farm to overpower enemies, no summons, no op weapon to save you. The only way through the game is skill and knowledge of the game mechanics.

I need more of that in my life. I'll take Sekiro 2 over any future From sequel.

I've noticed that people who dote on the souls series for it's difficulty tend to get very quiet whenever Sekiro comes up. Sekiro is also my favorite for it's no fluff approach. The combat system is so fulfilling.

I really loved the setting and aesthetics of the game. It was the hook that kept me playing even though I was frustrated as hell. Art direction and enemy design, as good as it can possibly get. The grotesque sound bosses made were also something else. Gameplay was so good no one gave an F about IQ and frame rate being a trainwreck.

I hope one day it gets the treatment it deserves. Remake for PS6 launch, maybe?

Let's be honest, here. It doesn't even matter which one you think is the worst; even the worst game in the series is still better than most games in the genre.
For me, BB has the second-best combat (After Sekiro), and the second-best level-design (After DS1).

But the 'room-design' is BB's biggest flaw. There's way too damn much geometry for you to get stuck on (Usually gravestones) for the game to truly shine. If the environment-hitboxes were just a tiny bit more forgiving, the game would be the best in the series.
Ironically enough, I can't stand how forgiving the environment-hitboxes are in DS3, which allows enemies to hit you through stone walls.

Like all of his games, outside of Elden Ring which is just boring. But I have to agree BB is just king. Pretty much everything about that game is perfect. I do think DS3 is close, but just nothing can top BB

Bloodbourne is great but my least favorite souls game due to less options/poor rewards/health system.

I waver between it and Demon Souls being my favorite. Let's call it a tie.

Blood = Demon > Dark > Dark III > Elden Ring > Dark II

I suck at parrying so I can't really comment on Sekiro.

I can totally understand the knocks people have on Bloodborne as it does feel like a very streamlined experience and Demon Souls does feel a little creaky and the archstone level layout might be a bummer if you are used to the connected world's in the Dark games.

Hey you want to play dark souls on fast forward without a shield, knock yourself out. My favorite is demos souls because it's easy lol.

And F-Zero GX beats Mario Kart.

Installing Sekiro RN
Good call, you are in for a treat.

Personally, I find BB, Sekiro and Dark Souls 1 to be the best new From games. They each do something very special. Sadly, I haven't beaten bloodborne - never had a ps4 (or any console after the ps3/360 era) and played the ps online version, which doesn't have the dlc.

Sadly a pc version is unlikely to ever happen. I may buy a used ps4 in order to play bb. Ironically I did the same with a ps3 for demons souls.

i adored elden ring, i loved sekiro, DS3 was amazing, so were DS1 and DS2, but....
bloodborne man
it just hits different
The boss design, the level design, the complex but fascinating lore and everything about the game is just so good.
I just love bloodborne man
Nah his magnum opus is Sekiro. BB is just fast Dark Souls without shields, Sekiro is on a whole other level.

I played till the fountain something area. I installed it yesterday but I need to finish DeS and Rise and so much more.

But I tried it and yeah so much smoother. <3

I enjoyed Elden Ring but it doesn't even come close to Bloodborne or Sekiro. Souls games are great but Bloodborne/Sekiro are on another level.

Bloodborne will always be #1 for me as it was the first game I played by From Software but Sekiro is damn close.

It's disgusting how Sony have treated Bloodborne. I want a sequel or at the very least a remaster/remake at some point.

I can't agree with you OP, because I am a pc gamer...sad face
I wouldn't really recommend it but you can stream Bloodborne through PS Now or whatever the fuck Sony call it these days. It's the cheapest way to play it if you only have a PC but if there is any input latency you will get fucked up.

What i'd recommend is buying a used PS4 to play it but that's more money and I'd only suggest doing that if you have played DS, Sekiro, Elden Ring and desperately want to play Bloodborne. If you're a huge fan of those games then the cost of a PS4 is 100% worth it.

I'm primarily a PC gamer these days and I was missing Bloodborne so I bought a PS4 off ebay just to play it again. I wish I had never sold my PS4.

Its hard for me to decide. Demons Souls was my first, Dark Souls was special, Sekiro has probably my favourite combat system ever.
But Bloodborne is the one :messenger_heart:

Also anyone putting DS2 above any other Miyazaki game is no lol

Nah.
Its Sekiro without question. No contest.
The combat is lightyears ahead of most anything else. So engaging. Ide be surprised if they slant that hardcore ever again...

Could never get over the low 30fps with framepacing judder, plus for me it's too hard too early with too linear levels so I lost the interest before seeing much of it. I'll give it another chance once BP get it up to stable 60fps.

I haven't played so many of Miyazaki's games but Elden Ring is my favorite for sure. 426 hours as of today, still playing it several hours per week a year after the release, that's extremely rare for me.

I'm on a mission to beat all of these titles 100% eventually. So far I 100%'d Nioh 1 and Nioh 2, still have to complete all the others for the first time.

If I had to rank them based only on what I played so far, it would be Elden > Sekiro > DS1 > Blood.

But they are all gaming perfection, IMO.

One of the first Platinum trophies. I want to play it through a couple more times. It is a beautifully crafted game. I want a remaster and new trophies. It's one of those games that I'll always remember from last gen. The dark Victorian lovecraft world is untouched if you ask me. I had a similar feeling many years ago with Nightmare Creatures, but this was on a whole other level.

For me ER is too good, so Sekiro, BB, DS3 took the 2-4 spots.

But it doesnt matter, you know a game company is so consistently brilliantly producing top tier games when each of their release is massively adored by different players with different tastes.

Miyazaki and From are truly one of (if not) the most influencial game developers last decade.

After the overbloated mess that was ER, I would have to agree. SEKIRO has a more straightforward story and certainly has interesting combat, but BB - from the music, to the aesthetic to the story, which is both obtuse and clear at the same time (at minimum you get a full tale - "You dreamt, you fought and now you - probably - were allowed to wake."

. . .if we got THAT Miyazaki back, I would absolutely be over the moon.

Bloodborne is also my favorite FromSoft game, from the combat, weapons, world, art and athmosphere. Dark Souls 1 come second for its brilliant level design and some great boss fights.

Sekiro is mostly interesting if you're not interested in the RPG elements of souls like. To me, that takes all the creativity out of the game and makes bosses feel like an enormous quick time event where you have to learn and repeat a long end of buttons, and the only way of remembering is just dying a lot of times until you remember the whole sequence.

Hmm didn't know this. Can you not do any build variations?
