Knew it lol
Wtf? Wasn't the Wii U the lead console for this?
You can email them about getting a refundI like how they think the "opportunity" to move your backing to a different platform "free of charge!" is a great consolation prize as opposed to being able to remove your pledge entirely. The "free of charge" was the real kicker, just lmao. Hey, we won't screw you over again! Good news!
Can't they just atleast release it digitally on Wii U eshop?
I'm sure they got a Wii U build already just finish it off with final code and done
Yeah sesriously. This video has me questioning the quality of the overall game now. That level looks ugly 😵
I'm sorry but... How can you have Xenoblade Chronicles X and not Yooka-Laylee running on the WiiU? It's because of Unity? Or because they are not good programmers enough?
My guess: is not that they can't but they don't have time or the resources to have a proper WiiU version.

As a backer and day-1 Wii I owner. I'd much rather have this on a cartridge on Switch. It just feels right.
It's like I'm sure they could have made a Wii U version if it made enough sense financially. There can be technical issues and those things are not mutually exclusive. But can you really blame anyone for not wanting to release a Wii U game in mid-2017?
Anyways looking forward to the Switch version.
Why do we have to pay £15 to change platform when the whole point of backing it was that we got a free copy? That doesn't make sense. I'm not paying twice.
Wed like to apologise to those affected by this development and offer all Wii U backers the opportunity to move their pledge free-of-charge to any of the versions launching on April 11th (PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac or Linux) or upgrade to the Nintendo Switch version when we announce further details in 2017.
All affected Wii U backers can choose another platform to receive a digital copy of Yooka-Laylee for, at the significant Kickstarter discount of more than 50% on the retail cost (£15 vs. £35). Wii U backers can also choose to wait for updates on the Nintendo Switch early next year.
As much as it sucks for the Wii U owners who want those games, it really makes zero sense for these ongoing kickstarter projects to develop ports for a dead system.
They should offer refunds to anyone who backed the Wii U version, though.
No, it's called PR in a release statement which basically boils down to a much larger audience on the Switch compared to the Wii U. It makes business sense really, that shit is dead.
I'm confused about this. On the main page it says:
But then on the Wii U FAQ page it says:
So.. wha?
So this will be another third party game to release everywhere on one date and then on Nintendo at a later date. Sigh...

I don't think it's safe to assume the Switch version is launching later. They're just not allowed to actually announce it until January, which seems to be Nintendo's policy for all Switch games. In that sense, this message was a beautifully-crafted non-announcement.
Has anybody else had any joy downloading the toy box? I preordered last night on my Xbox one and the toy box isn't available for download. It says "instant access" to the toy box demo if you preorder...
