For those of you that played the Toybox, did anyone solve the riddle yet?I have ground pounded every rock near a tree on Shipwreck Creek and haven't found anything.
The locked room? ^^
Neither did Banjo, did he?I wish I never watched the developer commentary for Conkers Bad Fur Day they did on youtube a few years back, because it irrationally bugs me Yooka doesnt push against walls when you walk into them

This is coming after conker though and should theoretically have it's level of polish
Can you push stuff around in Conker? If you cant in this it might decieve players into thinking they can push stuff around I guess.
My only issue not being able to control the camera freely with the right stick, feels so clunky having to use RB to move the camera in steps.
Enjoying the game a lot so far, brings back a lot of memories of Banjo. My only issue not being able to control the camera freely with the right stick, feels so clunky having to use RB to move the camera in steps. That's one part of these platformers that shouldve stayed in teh past. Second gripe is I can't figure out how to change the resolution on PC. Im trying to downsample and whenever I choose the 3940x2160 it just reverts back to 1080p. Never had that issue before.

I had this issue with the Toybox. Never found a fix. Maybe it has something to do with multi-monitor setups?
I asked this earlier in the thread and did the exact same thing as you as well. Apparently world 5 has a pirate ship in it too and that is where you do this. Not the starting area with the first and most obvious pirate ship you see. It's kind of deceiving.
Most of the devs who made Conker don't work at Playtonic, though. Some still work at Rare, some work at Gory Detail and some work elsewhere. This is coming after conker though and should theoretically have it's level of polish

Itching to get my hands on Y-L, but real life stuff is preventing me from turning my Xbox on right now.

Anyone else still waiting on an email with the key? I ordered the steam version, but haven't received anything.
They've been working on Rusty Pup for a while now. Another Rare-esque game to look forward to.Interesting, first I'm hearing of gory detail.
The game does seem very polished so far (still in the first world, expanded). Imo this could have been an Nintendo exclusive game for full price.
Don't forget that BK had camera problems and framerate drops.
I know what you mean though but this game is a godsend. I just hope it sells well.
It's Unity. It runs in borderless fullscreen mode and that means the rendering resolution is tied to your desktop resolution.
If you start the game in exclusive mode you'll be able to downsample. But it's seemingly more unstable.
Played for a coupe hours last night and had a decent amount of fun. Got up to expanding the first world and then beating the first boss (not a terribly well designed boss, but inoffensive, regardless.)
I am surprised at how awful the camera is. When I hear people complain about the camera in Super Mario Sunshine, 3D Sonic games, or most N64 titles I can't help but roll my eyes but the camera is legitimately bad here. It's not unusable or anything but it does get caught up on a lot of stuff and the default camera speed felt off.
Framerate on PS4 has been very stable, althought the game has stuttered on occasion. Nothing gamebreaking, but it is an annoyance. The level design of the first world does a good job at making very clear landmarks and "weenies". The only problem I have with the level design is that there's a lot of seemingly random rocks and structures you can get on top of that clutters up the level and makes some of the vertical space a tad confusing.
I played the first "arcade" minigame and beat Rextro's highscore on my second attempt. It's, undeniably, an awfully poor effort by Playtonic but it wasn't super frustrating. I just don't see how they could have let such a sloppy minigame slide into the finished product.I don't get how Vendi's terrifying design managed to get into the finish product either, but I digress.
I'm surprised I still haven't been able to buy the "high jump" or whatever this game will call it. I had to get a bit creative in order to reach a few quills. Watching speed runs will be interesting due to the routing players will have to come up with. I wonder if it'll be possible to take paths that constantly refill your power meter so you can always be rolling around. I can already tell that death warping will be a very common thing in speed runs.at the speed of sound
I've only gotten 12 Pagies so far and, despite enjoying it, I have no clue how you could think that.
I kickstarted this game.
I preordered it on Xbox One
Played ten minutes and said "NOPE! Not for me!"
Camera feels awful. The unskippable text with the two voice sounds repeating over and over.
UGH!

So far my opinion on this game is about a 6.5 out of 10, simply by first impressions. My love of Banjo Kazooie is keeping me here, but has anyone else felt a distinct lack of RARE magic?Everything feels familiar, but a little bit worse. It's like I'm playing a Chinese rip-off of the original games. The writing is noticeably bland in comparison to Bad Fur Day and the two previous BKs. The moves actually feel like downgrades to their previous incarnations (i.e. egg shooting and talon trot.) The worlds feel sterile and way too large. Yooka is a boring Banjo, and Laylee is a tame Kazooie.
It's a good game, but it's not coming anywhere near Banjo Kazooie.
Some fair complaints, but you backed the game and didn't know they were doing Banjo-esque sounds for the characters?
It's considerably more annoying, the two samples that interrupt each other, for EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER.
Just make the X button skip to the end of the text group and then tap X again to go to the next bit of dialogue.
INFURIATING!
Oh boy, I started the game and immediately got dizzy (Xbox). Is there any word of changes that will help? Maybe I should wait and play it on play anywhere for 60fps?
Not just you, I feel the exact same way. It has all the pieces, but no polish.
Well, like I said before, this is just a small time indie game. I feel like the only way this game could of had the polish and scale of stuff like Ratchet & Clank 2016 and Mario Galaxy is if Playtonic had the backing of a major publisher like Nintendo or Microsoft or something.
I was wondering if it was just me getting older, or if the voice samples really are more annoying this time. I can go back to BK & BT no problem, but the voices are annoying the piss out of me here

I'm comparing it to Banjo Kazooie and I don't see any issues? Camera can be problematic but I've never died because of the camera so far.
