Biggest single disappointment this generation? It should be
fairly obvious.
Outside of that tragedy here's a few others:
-BOFV: Dragon Quarter selling so poorly that the Development team issue an
apology for the greatest game this generation.
-BOFV team subsequently making the terrible terrible MMX: Command Mission after their previous gem. Argle bargle.
-Square merging with Enix. Poor Enix. Got the short end of the stick. Sigh.
-We get a goddamn remake of MGS and not
Grandia for GameCube? Arrrghahghahghahgh.
-Five year lifecycle WHERE? (Sony, you're exempt.)
-Bilinear filtering on DS. And a proper Z-buffer. WTF Nintendo? It wouldn't have cost much to implement, and would have made the N64/PSX-leve polys quite palatable, since you've gone all out for fps this time.
-GBA goddamn 8-bit sound output when it fucking
mixes internally at 16-bit. Pennies a unit! PENNIES A GODDAMNED UNIT NINTENDO!
-GBA screen. <Nintendo> OH SHIT WE FUCKED UP. *Releases GBA SP*
-Nintendo sucking total unadulterated ass in terms of software output. (Intelligent Systems and R&D1: you're both exempt. I could
never hate either of you. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3)
-Sega. What happened to you after the Death of the DC? Terrrrible.
-PS2 hardware builds (up until the PStwo slim model). WHY HALLO THAR. I AM A PS2. BREATHE ON ME AND I SYSTEMATICALLY SELF-DESTRUCT! PS: GO BUY ANOTHER ONE!
-Twilight Princess' art style (Note: not complaining about gameplay. Should be solid). OH NO PEOPLE HAVE BEEN EMASCULATED BY CUTE LITTLE CEL-SHADED BOY WE MUST BE ZOMG MATOOR. Never have I been so underwhelmed by the presentation of a Zelda title.
edit: remembered one more and I can't believe I forgot it
-NOA being stupid dicks and not releasing games people want and would sell, specially when they have massive dry spells. Stafy trilogy, Daigasso Band Bros., Magical Vacation, Fire Emblem 6 etc.
