I think it's Intestellar. I'm sure about one thing though, the movie has the greatest soundtrack of all time, it is an absolute masterpiece. And it's not just a couple of good tracks like in most movies, every single track in that album is fucking excellent. Also it has arguably the best action scene of all time.

I think it's just Hans Zimmer in general. He's perhaps one of the most inspired composers of our time. Inception, Dark Knight series... But yeah, the Interstellar soundtrack is incredibly moving. It stays in my car at all times for those rides home from work.

I hated that movie due to Jenny
Wow. Not sure how anyone can hate that film. Sure, she’s a very unlikeable character at times, but I think that’s the intention of her character. It’s still overall one of the best films of all time in my eyes, just so many great parts. Give it another try, I just love it and it’s one of the very few films that I can cry at.

I don't. That girl was terrible taking advantage of Forrest Gump. The director romantizing that relationship is what turned me off from that film

I’d say the film is less about wanting the viewer to hate her, and more showing how sadly child abuse victims sometimes don’t overcome their trauma and are drawn to abusive people as an adult (not Forrest, but the dick who hit her) and such. I’m not saying she gets a free pass on all her behavior but at the same time most of us can’t claim to have experienced what she did as a child.

Sure, I understand you. But eventually she sees the Good in him and sees how wrong she has been. As Doom says below, she’s a victim of her environment, not making excuses for people like that, but that’s sometimes what happens.

I’d say I have went through a lot of trauma, but this film just makes me feel good mostly and what makes an innocent and good person Forrest is, is what kind of person I want to be.

Nah man, she totally used him and after all that time passed she decides to pursue him romantically? Not to mention that's most likely not his kid. I feel bad for Forrest. Just because she's a victim of her environment doesn't excuse that bad behavior. She totally took advantage of him. Just my two cents

Nah I totally get you. This is why GAF is great because you can have a grown up conversation….. well most of the time unless it’s about plastic boxes 😂.

I totally get you that she is a horrible person. Forrest Jr is more than likely not his kid, you are right. I had someone in my life who was like this who had some serious PTSD and they have wrecked our family. They are no longer here and I’m at peace with them, there’s no anger so in a way when
Jenny Dies
you are meant to feel sorry for Forrest as he loves her so much even though she’s flawed.

Great film.

Yeah I'm not dissing your choice in favorite film. I'm glad we could have an actual conversation about the movie. I just wanted to discuss my issue I have with that film. And I was wondering why you really love the film, which the reasons you gave were equally as valid

She doesn't pursue him. She returns to him because, well, he's home to her. As for the child, well, just the mannerisms they make together, naturally. You're welcome to take that as you like -- that's the beauty. And I agree, her past doesn't excuse her behavior, it just explains it. But perhaps you're seeing in a very one-sided way. Remember, she was Forest's friend as well. When they were children, no one else wanted anything to do with him. She might have always been on the run, but she was always there in his life.

Yeah, I‘m fine with people not liking the film and/or Jenny, but throwing out a theory like that?

Season 5 Donna GIF by Parks and Recreation

Next they’ll be ripping apart one of my other top films, Aliens, by making a theory that Hicks, Newt, and Bishop all end up dying soon after anyway and Ripley soon after making Ripley’s struggles throughout the whole film all pointless! Some things just shouldn’t be stated!

Absolutely. While I’m not as in love with the first movie as most (to be clear, I find it great, but for me everything dealing with Rutger Hauer was incredible while everything with Harrison Ford was “only” really good), the sequel blew me away. Just an incredible experience the whole way through. Definitely my movie of the year of 2017 (Logan coming in a close second).

Harakiri. Don’t know if I’d call it my definitive favorite movie, but I love it. Also, you said not to think about it and it was on my mind!

Hope you don’t mind if I add in a Subquestion?….
What is your go to movie when you’re having a bad day and need a pick me up?!….
I've got a collection of 'em on standby, and I use them fairly often, I'm afraid to say. In addition to Nobody's Fool (which I already mentioned), here lately I watch Late Night (please don't judge me) and The Big Sick pretty often.
