Youtuber Karl Jobst has filed for bankruptcy after lawsuit loss to Billy Mitchell.

🎵 When it comes crashing down and it hurts inside 🎵

Bankruptcy can't get rid of court fees too as far as I'm aware but I don't understand anything about the law

Fuck em both, they both seem insufferable.
This guy is insufferable. wtf are you on about? Look at that hair

Outside of the Billy, court, and youtuber drama. I do like his positive videos about speed running feats. He does a good job getting into the weeds, and explaining why one should be impressed by the accomplishment.

I remember watching the King of Kong back in the day, and while I recognize a narrative established in the edit can be misleading, I was so pissed when he pulled out that VHS and took away that other guys accomplishment. It was obvious to me that this guy wasn't competing in good faith.

Yep, he REALLY should have just not poked the bear and leave the drama for his mama

Just keep at the speed running stuff and be happy. Dude had to have a decent pile of money made from all the views he got.

Dumbass Youtuber fucked around and found out

Looking at Twitter and it seems Mitchell has been enjoying this lol

Well, he should enjoy his victory laps, Karl spent YEARS trashing Billy on YouTube.

Right or wrong, whatever, but I would also take a victory lap after being made the laughing stock to millions for well over half a decade by Karl.

He got over 1 million subs... no way he is bnakrupt. He is probably rich af

Not if Social Blade is to be believed:

Factor in he was ordered to pay A$350,000 + interest and he'll also be on the hook for some portion of Billy's legal fees (I've read that could be as high as 70%) which were more expensive than his own (A$700,000K), that's a big pill to swallow. Granted he had a GoFundMe and had help from Notch (who might be helping him again after the ruling, but his initial donation only covered a few months of legal expenses).

Only started following this stuff once the lawsuit was over and this shit has been hilarious. Love seeing Billy dunking on Karl so hard after the later declared himself as a "sore winner" way too soon.

That's like, what, $60 USD?

Who? No seriously who are these people and what do they have to do with gaming?

Why would I know who these douches are? or care?

King of Kong was pretty popular (Billy). Speedrunning commentary draws marginal interest (Karl). Drama is really popular (Billy suing Karl).

I'm so glad Billy is taking this opportunity to shit all over him, specifically because Karl was taking premature victory laps and saying he was gonna rub it in his face.

I was so out of date on the Billy Mitchell saga that I didn't realize all his scores were reinstated. Interesting redemption arc.

For some reason, I gradually start the like the guy, after he was made the villain of a popular documentary and still battled back to his throne, lol

Billy Mitchell seems like a horrible person regardless.

He certainly seems cocky and overly litigious, but to give him some grace, The King of Kong did paint him as a villain (which his personality fit) to make a more entertaining product and in turn has clouded most people's perception of him and I don't really have a problem with him suing someone who falsely claims he caused someone's suicide.
