It's huge!
They really did put "everything" in it.
Well, almost. There's not a single piece of art from Dawn of Ys in there, for whatever reason. Still not sure why that is.
Was Ys ever on a non-handheld console? If so, which ones?
Let's see how thorough an answer I can give you.
Ys I appeared on the Sega Master System, Famicom, PC-Engine (TurboGrafx-16) CD, Sega Saturn and PS2 in Japan. Of these versions, the Sega Master System and TurboGrafx-16 CD versions were released stateside, along with an MS-DOS version.
Ys II appeared on all of the above-noted consoles except the Sega Master System, which only ever got Ys I for some reason. It got released stateside for TurboGrafx-16 CD only (I think the MS-DOS version was solely Ys I, but I might be mistaken on that).
Ys III appeared on the TurboGrafx-16 CD, SNES and Genesis, pretty much worldwide. It also got a PS2 port in Japan, though the entire battle system was changed for it, and while some like it better, many (myself included) consider it a major step down from the original console versions.
Three very different versions of Ys IV appeared on the PC-Engine CD, Super Famicom and PS2 in Japan. Of these three, only the PC-Engine CD version is worthwhile IMHO. You'll occasionally see some love for the Super Famicom version too, but you will NEVER see any love for the PS2 version.
Ys V only ever appeared on the Super Famicom and PS2 in Japan. There was also an "Ys V Expert" released for the Super Famicom. The PS2 version is very different from the Super Famicom version.
Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim was released on PS2 worldwide. This version of the game features 3D polygonal models in place of character sprites and new 3D CG opening and ending cutscenes, though a cheat code can be used to disable the new cutscenes and view the original anime opening and ending movies if you're playing the American or Japanese version of the game. The 3D polygonal models for the characters, however, cannot be disabled in this version.
...And that should be everything, as far as non-handheld consoles go. Oath in Felghana is PC and PSP only, Ys Seven was a PSP exclusive until it got a Chinese PC port, Ys Origin is a PC exclusive (with a cell phone port, apparently?), and Ys Celceta is a Vita exclusive.
Let me know if I'm missing anything!
Oh god...lol. I was definitely sneaking up on a male.
I hate to break it to you, but THAT'S NOT MILK.
