I wonder how people feel about a blond haired actor in Daniel Craig playing James Bond, considering that all previous Bond actors are dark haired and is even described as such in the original novels.
To everyone complaining about Zendaya not being a redhead:

That would be tremendous.Prediction: Mary Jane in the movie will dye her hair red for the homecoming dance and that will be the big reveal I'm guessing.
MJ should be Asian.
But who's doing that here though? Maybe I missed the posts. I've read a lot of them, but doubt I read all 1096 thoroughly.
Fixed. Seriously. He could pass for the kid from Beasts of No Nation's dad and they would be 2 actors who could pull it off.maybe Donald Glover is Norman Osborn
Apparently this was supposed to be a surprise in the movie. Kinda wish it hadn't leaked. The outrage probably would have even been more hilarious.

If we do get a scene at the end with a red hair reveal for the dance I will mark out. I can picture it in my mind already.
Make it the "face it tiger" scene. It would be too perfect. Hng.
I don't get how this could've been a reveal, though, will no one in the movie say her name until the end? Maybe her part in the first movie is really small so it's not weird that no one ever says her name.
People hiding behind their want for MJ to have red hair (to try and mask their true agenda in regards to this MJ) is setting some people off.
Damn, Zendaya makin moves! Good for her. I think I ONLY know her from race controversies and acne commercials, lol (and the occasional red carpet event). I can't name a single thing she has been in.
I doubt most people even know she's of mixed ethnicity.
Hell, there was Internet drama a year or two back when Zendaya wore dreads to an event and people accused her of cultural appropriation because they just assumed she was white because of her looks.
The average person doesn't research a person's heritage. They just look at a photo and go "eh, looks white, black, asian, ginger, etc."
Bring on the racism.
You obviously don't have kids or young nieces/nephews.
She's huge on the Disney channel.
I give no shit about her origin.
But red hair or gtfo.
Also no sure skipping Gwen is a good idea. We know they did it because of the Amazing turds...
they could also make Gwen the college girl and do something to provide romantic tension OTHER than having one of them killed off
The drama was a news anchor or some other moron calling her a pothead because of her dreads her ethnicity was never in question.I doubt most people even know she's of mixed ethnicity.

It's good that you mentioned that though, since the reception she's had so far for being cast as Mary Jane and the convenient scapegoat of hair color (lmao) shares the same root cause as the snarky comments she got for wearing dreads: tragic racist undertones.

Emma was so good that anyone trying to do the role would have paled in comparison.Soooooooo glad they're going with MJ, and not Gwen.
Admittedly, Emma Stone nailed it as Gwen, and the romance is probably the best thing about the ASM film series but MJ is queen.

Is she a good actress?
Surely that is more important than having red fucking hair.
On point.

I don't care about the red hair one iota, but that's not the greatest example there. James Blonde was a thing roughly a decade ago.
