I don't think that's fair. There tend to be posts of discussions about the shade of Spider-Man costume's red-and-blue. Red is a color that draws attention, and it's natural to want that as a part of a character's visual design.

It's not like we have other aspects of her character to discuss, considering that none of us has even watched the movie.
