Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward |OT| -- More Hours, More Persons, More Doors

So, uh

the fuck does Virtue's Last Reward refer to anyway?

I think it was originally supposed to be called Good People Die, which makes a ton more sense.
Everyone dies in at least one of the endings!

"Virtue's Last Reward" is way too vague to tie to anything in particular, IMO.

I just watched the OVA and it implies that virtue is allying and last reward is betraying but that makes no fucking sense at all.

the orignal title was good people die. i think it refers to the ambidex game. being virtuous would mean picking ally(as that is the good thing to do). does the reward for being good out way the reward for being evil.

The original Japanese title could be read as "Good People Die" or "I Want to Become a Good Person". People just tended to translate it as the former because it sounds cooler.

Virtue's Last Reward combines two phrases: "Virtue is its own reward" and "Gone to his last reward", to show that being good could turn out well or it could get you killed.

So GAF I need some enthusiasm to start playing this game again! Basically stopped because I got busy with school work and beating Assassins creed 3.

Someone convince me to keep going! I'm only like 14 hours in with one ending and I have so much left to go. I've found nothing compelling plot wise yet accept something that will lead to an obvious ending that isn't optimal.

It's like I want to love it, but I just can't like I did with 999. Game is just overwhelming to me. (That and I always feel like I get stuck at the end of the escape puzzles) I don't want to play on easy, but I don't want to sit there for 45 minutes goofing around.

Now, the treatment center on the other hand, that was some grade A bullshit.

Ironically, I'm at the very end of this puzzle now. Can't figure it out and the solution I thought made sense is just nonsense.

Remember how at the end of 999 you were like "THE ANSWERS WERE IN FRONT OF ME THE WHOLE TIME BUT I DIDN'T REALISE IT"?

It's like that.

I would recommend to keep playing and look at. A FAQ for the puzzles

There's something about doing that that just errks me the wrong way though. Oddly enough I looked up a video to try to get a hint for this puzzle and figured out the first part of the password for one of the puzzles. Tried a word and it ended up being correct. I still have no idea how in the world to solve it though. Wish I managed to figure it out instead of dumb luck.

Okay seriously spoilers I had the damn right idea, but come on this is the kind of thing I'm talking about the whole time which is just preventing me from enjoying this game. I don't know why I didn't try it, but still.

WHO COUNTS THE FIRST SPACE IN A BOARD GAME AS MOVING NUMBER SPACES REALLY VLR?.... REALLY? Dammit like this guy on Gamefaqs says I don't count GO in Monopoly on my dice roll ... sigh haha

The rolling dice puzzle in the Archives can suck my dick. Really, game? So far that's the only one that I thought was just stupid, but I've only done 6 of the rooms.

The Food Ration puzzle in the Pantry wasn't hard. It was just way too tedious since you had to cycle between the two Archive files every time you changed something. I still solved it using the lowest number of switches, it's just a matter of being good at Math.

Luna ending get! I want to cry :(

I really think Luna and Dio are a good contrast of characters. Both had their lives set for them even before they were born, unable to be their own person. Dio just happened to accept that, or had just been brainwashed enough to not fight against it. Either way, he's a straight-up villain.

Luna on the other hand is conflicted, wanting to fight against her fate but abstaining out of both fear and a sense of purpose set by her existence as a Gaulem. For that, she's sympathetic. Not only that, but she's the ONLY character that never once decided to betray someone, possibly keeping in line with the rules of robotics. Her hiding important facts is more forgivable when taking that and her tear-jerking end into account.

all that feels :(

Should be made into a movie starring will smith.

I didn't have much trouble with the dice puzzle once I had the right documents.

I don't think any puzzle has kept me stumped longer than this pantry ice puzzle.

I'm so happy other people felt this way too, I felt so stupid when I eventually looked it up. It just seems fucking logical too though.

I mean why got to the trouble of saying it's a board game, at the very least, instead of start, it could have written 1 or something on the arrow pointing to that spot. I must have spent an hour or so trying to figure out what the hell was going on. This was the only spot I got stuck on like that..

Still love most of the puzzles, but the treatment centre with that puzzle and the laziness of the PEC room (i.e
Like the benches for the elevator puzzle, was expecting it to be more complex, and having to tap the window and have clover find that puzzle hint, you never do anything like that in the game, and why couldn't you find the puzzle hint when you first walked by? It's like the characters can't see below the field of vision they give you either, logically people would be looking up and down constantly as well
) kind of felt like they were done by other people from the rest.

Treatment Center is by far - in my opinion - the worst designed puzzle in the game. The Pantry was annoying, but it wasn't a matter of being confused about how it worked.

I just played this game for 5 hours straight, so that should tell you how much I like it.

But I have a complaint about the security room gold file puzzle:
I built the correct sentence at least 3 times, but in the wrong row, before figuring out that it had to be in the third.
Is there any in-game hint I missed which indicates this placement requirement?

I don't think so. I, and a few others, had the same problem. One person claimed they even did it right the first time, but the game still didn't give them the gold file, they had to reload. :/

Yeah, that was a poorly designed puzzle. Pretty sure there was nothing to indicate the correct way to do it.

Jesus christ, just spent an hour on that fuckin dice puzzle in the Q room. I thought the one in the archives was cake, but this was fuckin rubik's cube level of frustrating. Got it mostly by luck.

Party Pooper
Finished up around 30 hours (well, technically more because of 2 crashes in PEC, so the 3DS menu has it around 32)

Only complaints about the ending are really just a matter of my personal preference

Never liked when games do the breaking the 4th wall thing. Didn't like it in Panzer Dragoon Saga, and I love that game as well. IT'S UP TO YOUUUUUU. Also the whole "HEY WE'LL WRAP THIS UP IN THE SEQUEL" stuff leaves a sour taste because with the state of the video game industry anything could happen. Spike/Chunsoft could get bought by somebody, Aksys could go bankrupt, the game could get made but never localized... it's a volatile industry and dammit I need to know how this story ends
