Investigating a claim, trying to gather more information, finding things that casts doubt on her assertions, that's all pretty much something that should be expected. That's kinda what everyone should do, trying to find out what happened when a bold claim goes public.

I chuckle at David Jaffe going "IF she lied she's a shitty person", yeah sure a guy died and all nothing big, but also denouncing any attempts at trying to find out the truth. If we're not allowed to point out inconsistencies, then it's all just a sham of "guilty until accusers takes it back". I agree with Jaffe that it SHOULD'VE been something private, but more so something involving law enforcement. However ZQ literally made all of it public, so you can't really put the genie back in the bottle, making his point moot.

Wow, David’s tweets make no sense. On one hand he says Zoe can say what she wants in public (which is true) but then says that Gaf is creepy when challenging that statement....(especially when it’s clear others are ignoring the suicide).

That there is seemingly a coordinated effort to scrub the Internet of everything about her and this incident up to even denying that there is evidence that Alec killed himself rather than just having "died". That should be horrifying to most people - that is Soviet-esque airbrushing of history.

Well, Jaffe has one point, though. Are police investigating this? Is anyone pressing charges? Can anyone press charges or at least instigate an official investigation? I mean, going by Alec's sister, his family doesn't seem to give much of a shit? His colleagues low-key use this to promote the game and others use this equally for their own "I am a victim!"-stage plays.

So far, only a few have actually cared enough to point out that Quinn's narrative doesn't seem to hold up.

Edit: I think it is at least worth pointing out continuously, that Quinn is not to be trusted without reservations, in the very least.

The only evidence we have against Alec is that he was likely a jerk in their (mutually abusive, based on the sum of the evidence) relationship. Being a jerk does not mean that you rape people, just like (with Vic Mignogna's case) sleeping around on your fiance with women in their 20s does not mean that you groom rape teenagers. However, that is the evidence which was used against him to "prove" sexual assault/rape.

IIRC Jaffe was kind of a jerk too, so he is just one Tweet from a friend of Quinn's away from being ruined by "Man was an asshole once, therefore rape!"

I think we started the conversation off on the wrong foot. Both us and Jaffe. I feel like there's a good discussion to be had on this subject and based on what I've seen Jaffe is one of the few people in the industry that likes to talk about these complicated issue that most people avoid.
I can understand the place where Jaffe is coming from but I don't agree with most of the things. First off, all of this information is already publicly available and as far as I know has been known for years. Most of that information are her own tweets.
Second off, I don't understand where the "judge, jury and executioner" comes from. We have not done anything of the sort.
I think he's also misunderstanding people's curiosity with malice. Zoe Quinn may or may not have just driven a man to suicide with false allegations. Let's say we ignore her and she does it again later on? Do we still believe her? Will we let another person take his life because Zoe makes him a social pariah based on absolutely no evidence?
The thing I do agree on is that it probably looks creepy. I can understand that.
There's way more to unpack here and this thread is starting to pick up steam again so I'll leave it at this for now.
