Titanfall Beta (PC/Xbone) Impressions (No Key Begging/Trading or I will ban you!)

This could be one of my worst beta experiences ever.

My PC has blue screened twice and crashed a few times trying to even get past a loading screen. :lol

So close to just uninstalling and not even bothering with this.

I've enjoyed dropping my Titan on enemy auto Titans because they are in guard mode. It's funny seeing the explosion and your titan, fist to the ground, in the smoke and flames of the destroyed enemy.
 
I've played for a few hours today. All as the assault class. Surprising fun. I'm playing on my 7 year old Pc I build back in high school and using a ps4 controller. Feels so good. And I'm holding my own again kb/m people. Dem high precision sticks! I'm surprised I can get it to run as well as it does for me. I prolly won't end up buying cause I can see myself getting burnt out on its repetitiveness. But I'm excited for a potential tf2 on ps4.

The smoke damages them over time if they stay in it so it's not an instant kill or anything. Getting out works but you can noticeably see the Titan hunch down while on the back so most bail off and try to kill the pilot.

Also helps if you have a teammate just deal with it, so I usually look for and blast them off other people but rarely get the same back from randoms.

theres an ability where your titan just warps onto battlefield instead of dropping down. does it also kill the one it lands on ?

Well, it takes time for the smoke to work. Either your health is already low, in which case they'll probably kill you before it kills them, or they ran away and came back.

But yeah, if you are at low health, you probably need someone to kill the pilot for you. Even leaving the Titan takes time and depending on the weapon they have, they can take out your Titan before you even have a chance to get out and shoot them.
 
Any PC players tried this with a controller ? Can't use K/M for medical reasons, is the feeling still right with the speed of the game ?
 
I wish there would be less AI and more pilots. I think like 8v8 would be nice.

Besides that, it's pretty intense - but I want to kill more real people.

it takes a few seconds for the titan to land so i assume with that ability it warps onto battlefield instantly ? i havent tested it yet .

really looking forward the rest of the abilities in the full game

It works very well on my 360 pad, there is a very slight (not overpowering) aim assist when using one and it feels really good.

I've been playing it with nothing but my pad and I haven't felt at a disadvantage at all, and have had multiple rounds with tops scores - granted I'd easily say a K/M is preferred, but this game seems to be setup in such a way that using a pad isn't that much of a major drawback..

I've played 3 hours now. I took these screens before my last couple of games.

I used to be pretty good at FPS games. I played U99, Halo PC, and I got good. 10:1 good in most pubic games.

I spent the last 5 years or so half-heartedly playing the latest CoD or BF waiting for something to pique my interest, and I sat around 1:1 never bothering to focus, or perhaps just not feeling inspired enough to care to.

I'm far from the best player out there, and I'm a lot slower than I used to be, but this game has woke up my ability to give a shit about the MP FPS genre again, if there's enough content to keep me interested I can see this being my staple for a long time.

I've been using the DS4 and it took a little getting use to but I've gotten use to it. They have full controller support so you can fine tune it to your likings. Last game I went 13-1 with a controller. The key to this game seems to just keep moving and be aware of the map.

Thanks, I may give it a try then, as I also use 360 controller on my PC.

So happy I only paid $20 for BF4 and skipped premium entirely. At that price I have no regrets.
 
Me and a teammate titan trapped an enemy titan in a narrow hall and punched em back and forth till it exploded. Titan punching is the best.
 
I was trying to help out a teammate who had a Pilot rodeoing him but he kept turning to face me like "why are you shooting me?". Made it very hard to save him.

I use the electric smoke, kills them before they can back off your Titan with minimal damage to it.
 
I don't even know what I did, but it looks like I can't even install or uninstall the game (yeah, I mean it still seems to be on the computer but I literally don't know where).
 
Got my key, got the game downloaded, go to start....and nothing. Just pops up a window asking me to pre-order the beta. So close, yet so far.

Anyone else seen or had this problem? :( I'm on PC.

My team did this in last man standing, there was 4 of us left and 1 of them, we managed to trap him/her and group punched the crap out if it to win :D.

It was pretty great.

I also managed a 3 titan wipe for the win with the nuke perk, I was about to blow and ziiped into the enemy group and ejected, it went BOOM!!!!! and they all died - VICTORY!.

I wait for the shutdown noise, sometimes I don't even jump off since you can still look around and aim
 
Haven't been able to get into a game in over 2 hours of on off trying. I get in and my character doesn't move, my ping rises slowly after starting below 100 and then it just kicks me from the game.

No matter what server region I try it's been like that all day. Game worked flawlessly earlier. I give up

I've legit played catch with another enemy titan, I shot first, he shielded up, then I did as he threw my bullets back, only for me to throw it back at him again afteward, granted I was only using the machine gun and there weren't that many rounds, it was hilarious

Worthless in the sense that they can't really kill anyone but are a great way to reduce your titan timers. They are more useful in Hardpoint however, if you leave them be, they will secure and hold capture points

One of the best supported games for a controller. Using a 360 controller and get MVP every match.

It's perfect. If you know how to play, you will definitely have a fair shot. The controller is no problem here.

I hate it when games have controller support but no aim assist (Black Ops 2, Battlefield).
