The Order: 1886 leaks - new gifs, screenshots!

This stuck out to me like a sore thumb. Makes it even harder to relate to overreactions about the good graphics lol.

One set of brick textures diminishes the obvious high standards of graphics on display for you?

Can't take people like this seriously.

In the game's defense the wall probably crumbles like nothing else.

This is looking like a third-person cover-based shooter that has issues with diagonal aiming adjustments.. now all I can remember is Uncharted 3 :\

ya lets judge the controller and aiming before anyone has even played it. sheesh. Looks amazing

I'm just kindof amazed that we've gone

... eight pages without...

talking about the black bars for once ...

I can't even tell that there are black bars in the gameplay. The gif's frames are jumping up and down outside of the boundary. Can't really explain it.

For those throwing stones over the alleyway wall, be sure to check out the textures inside the titans in TitanFall. PS2esque.

No need for this man. Already have enough people trying to downplay how amazing this looks visually. No need to give them more ammo and give them a reason to debate with something totally off topic/

Gameplay looks like generic TPS cover shooter with QTE sprinkled on for good measure in the gifs. I mean that was pretty much known at this point. But fucking hell, it's still dissapointing to me that a game set in such a fantastic setting is gonna revolve around one of the most boring types of gameplay in modern big budget games...

But you only saw a two second gif...

why would you do this to this topic bro :(

The war has just begun. This salvo will claim many lives on both sides.

This game looks amazing so far. It will only get better from here. Hell. I'm sure what we actually get to see tomorrow will make this lil gifs appear as nothing. I can't wait.

So we are clear was Last of Us also a Gears clone?

What would you rather the character do? Have the guy crouch and face the wall? it's more natural for the character to take cover.

If you played TLoU as a third person shooter, you played it very, very wrong.

But you only saw a two second gif...

You're telling me that those 2, 2 sec gifs don't show what by all accounts is a QTE during gameplay. And what looks like super generic third person shooter gameplay, cover mechanic included?

This game BETTER have shoulder- swap.

Third-person shooters without it just piss me off. I'm looking directly at GTAV.

I kinda hope they do it better than recent games like RE6 and TLoU.

In both of those, the shoulder swap is ambidextrous... the character actually switches handedness. Instead of just moving the camera, they flip the weapons as well. It's like a mirror effect. And in the case of TLoU, the crosshair moves during the switch. That is heavy jank. I mean if you're taking the easy way out and mirroring the weapon, you can't even keep the crosshair centered? Kinda disappointing from a AAA studio.

The other issue is camera reset. TLoU does kind of a hybrid thing where it won't reset the unless you move more than a couple steps. But it's pretty fussy and unreliable. Very annoying in MP. Then again, some other game don't even go that far. Every time you raise you gun you have to hit the switch button again. Pure jank. Well, then again, at least that's consistent and you can always expect it.

"Resolution not set in stone" suddenly has a different meaning.

LOL. As someone who watches FirstTake I laughed more than I should have.

OT: Graphics from (99%) of what we've seen looks absolutely nuts. I can't wait to see more tomorrow.

The game will be 80% shooting, and 15% shallow exploring for trinkets, 5% talking about nothing. The game is about 7Hrs 15 Mins. The credits take about 7 Mins to roll. The ending isn't very satisfying.

Troy Baker makes a surprise appearance.

Lots of jumping to conclusions going on around here.

Welcome back.

I seriously couldn't care if the game is a standard cover shooter. Uncharted , TLoU , Gears, TR2013 etc were all dam good games.

I doubt it will be though, or at least it will differ enough (like TLoU) to stand out.

But you only saw a two second gif...

And this is why limited leak topics are always a pile of shit. Without getting the full picture I don't see how anyone can make a judgement on this game, and yet here we are with people confidently saying it brings nothing new to the table... :(

Those gifs are too fast and the screenshots look like they are from cutscenes, so I dont take anything from this, apart from the colours which look depressing.

But you only saw a two second gif...

It's not like they themselves have said this game is going to be much more than shootouts. I mean another thing I noticed was all the shiny stuff that can be picked up. Doesn't seem like there's going to be much of an emphasis on exploration if everything is marked shiny.

So there are some people shitting on the graphics because of a dodgy looking row of bricks? Are people so desperate to talk down games?

In the effort of balance to brickgate:

Nah, it's just nice to know that a game is polished.

It's more than the bricks. Some surfaces are shiny in a low-lit environment and you would expect more shadows in places where there are none. And why aren't the candle-lit lanterns casting an additional layer of light and shadows from the lantern's structure? There don't seem to be any shadows from the sheets hanging in they alley either. IDK, everything about that screenshot seems off.

Given the amazing attention to detail on the characters that particular screenshot is sticking out like a sore thumb. I assume this is still 6 months or so out, so hoping those kinds of details are fixed.

i want to go on record to say while i sympathize with the brickgaters, you can find bad textures like that on every game on earth - including Witcher 3 and Uncharted 2 and whatever your favorite graphics game is, mine too. The important distinction is what the overall effect is, whether it occurs frequently or rarely, and whether or not it indicates some problem with the graphics engine. If you get that from those bricks, by all means.
