Movements are consistent with deliberate action. ACARS was deliberately turned off. Transponder was deliberately turned off.

Based on raw satellite data.

We can confirm that the aircraft that turned back was MH370.

FAA and NTSB and AAIB and Malaysian authorities concur.

We can confirm ... aircraft on radar was the flight ... corroborated by others ... last known point 8:11am Malay time

1 of 2 corridors: Kazakhstan to Thailand, or Indonesia to Southern Indian Ocean. That narrows it down.

Calm down, he said the plane was in either one of two corridors, one going FROM Kazhakstan to Thailand. It has nothing to do with where the plane was or where it was going.

So this is definitely not mechanical failure at this point. Multiple independent bodies believe there was deliberate human action.

Families getting no closure.

It was still pinging the satellite 7 hours after last contact? Wow.

I thought he handled it well. Covered everything that was confirmed and tried to calm the rampant speculation.

Agreed.

Deliberate human action can be in response to mechanical failure. That is why they are being careful not to jump to a conclusion about hijacking.

Plane still flying 7 hours after it went missing.
They know the direction it was headed.
Now all they need to do is the math based on the fuel it was carrying, and pinpointing a search radius should be relatively straightforward.

Can someone make a new map please. Having a little trouble visualizing this.

Basically it flew west out of the country and could of went either north towards India or south towards Australia.

Basically information we already knew based on were America started looking.

Good press conference.
Obviously, this situation is developing by the hour. There's been too much speculation. Too much misinformation.
Smart of them to get the PM to step up and set the record straight on where they're at right now, even if they're still very much in the dark...
