Titanfall boosts Xbox One UK sales by 96%, Tea and Crumpets for all!

If PS4 has a rise in sales of 74% just because stock came in it means the console is still supply constrained.

Also, Infamous and Ground Zeroes should give it another big boost.

Not sure if new-thread-worthy, but:

Haha, yea. As i've always said, Titanfall will provide a boost forna week or two but the X1 will come crashing back down in April as Sony puts out more PS4s. It'll keep like that until there's an X1 proce cut

Just curious and maybe someone could explain this to me. But let's say the X1 has sold 4 million; why is that considered a failure to everyone? It's a $100 bucks more and in a third of all the countries the competitors console is selling in. In that respect 4 million looks pretty good doesn't it?

I doubt they will announce it will they?, i know i wouldn't if my competitor had just announced hitting 6 million.

That's how I feel too. I bet they announce percentage numbers compared to 360 or something without any real numbers. We'll figure it out that way or something like it.

The more important thing is how much momentum they get from Titanfall. If the sales plummet back down to what they were before, then its not as big of a deal. Initially, this is good. After a few weeks it will be interesting to see the results.

I keep seeing this and I don't get it. It's coming out on four platforms and there are reports everywhere that it's overpriced. I just don't see it pushing ps4s. Infamous might be a different story, though.

At that price it would cost them a damned fortune.

Maybe? but were already seeing signs that a lower price & a pack in hot property new Ip isn't really shifting that many units (or as many as projected), and retailers are already lowering those RRP's to £369 and we've just seen another retailer (albeit for a limited time) offer a £299 + fifa pack in, I have faith.

Isn't there some info regarding the attachment rate being 2.8 games purchased per console etc? MS will take a hit on the console to grow the platform whilst making it back on software sales.

They cant remove Kinect this year at least so there's no room in cutting the BOM yet so that just leaves price.

I'd gladly jump back in a £300 + Titanfall ;-)

I doubt that, it should start falling behind the 360 soon

Maybe they can compare it to the original Xbox

Its not a failure at all. Take away PS4's numbers and X1 is doing very well compared to past consoles i'm pretty sure. I don't get all the 'doom and gloom' either outside of the usual console war shite on here.

I find it weird that Aaron Greenberg (probably the least humble guy at MS) would brag about UK numbers. What about the US? He's an American guy, you would think that he would love to crow about the awesome sales here.

Because there is no such thing as good Xbox news, always has to have a negative spin on it.

I think the next 12 months will be the deciding factor. It is far too early to tell as you always going to sell a lot of consoles to your 'base' users, and this is just as true for the Playstation too. For example, if Apple were to release a new iPad it will always sell a good number no matter how poorly it was received (or is) just because some people (or fans) will buy it regardless.

Once again the PS4 is selling because its in stock not because of infamous or MGS. These games should do well on the system however.

Oh, wow. I wonder if that was people prepping for Ground Zeroes and inFamous or whether we'll see another growth for this week (or at least retain last weeks gains)

That is purely dependenent on how much stock Sony has.

The situations are different. MS has a ton of X1s gathering dust on store shelves, that's why they're trying all these things to make them move. And while Titanfall no doubt help, it seems it's not the savior they were hoping for.

PS4 on the other hand, is still selling out the moment it hits shelves. It doesn't need inFamous or MGS or anything. It'll sell out regardless. In this case, how many units inFamous moves is entirely dependent on how many Ps4s Sony ships since they will sell every single one.

Multiplats sell consoles.
The PS4 is the living prof of that, Also its been said that the better version is on the PS4.
It will not sell as many consoles as say Titanfall or iNFAMOUS, but it will sell.

This is a Console War, son. You win or you die.

I don't how you're reaching these conclusions when there's plenty if evidence out there to suggest TitanFall sold extremely well on the X1 and PS4's, while are still in demand, isn't completely out of stock everywhere. Go to target.com and punch in area code 85203 (my town) and you'll see it's in stock in several locations and has been in stock now for a couple of days on amazon.

I'm not tying to paint a negative image. The ps4 is still selling great. It's just that your post seems to ignore reality.

Where is the evidence that "Titanfall sold extremely well"? The muted PR alone, as well as the Titanbone mountains found in stores across the nation, suggest otherwise.

PS4 also continues to be in very short supply across most of Europe, something not true of Bones.

For some people, it has a lot to do with overall market share. The more PS4/X1's there are, the more likely that company is able to negotiate exclusives or prevent exclusives on the other side. Which means more games/less restrictions for the one that's ahead.

At least, that's what I see as being valuable.

Anyone proclaiming doom and gloom is taking it too far, clearly, but given their relative lack of strength in their two strongest territories, and them seemingly getting trounced elsewhere there has to be some concern.

Sony, despite all of their missteps last generation, was always going to do okay in Japan and in continental Europe. Microsoft has no such luxury afforded to them.

This, despite, stock issues and a relative dearth of games. When stock gets stable and more games start coming for the PS4 the gap could get much larger indeed. This may not mean much for the end consumer who buys an XOne but as a business proposition one can see why it doesn't look that great for them at the end of the day.

It of course varies, but you're experience is pretty clearly in the minority.

Anecdotal evidence and all, but my local targets had PS4s behind the glass but no XB1's in stock last weekend. The workers there tend to be lazy and not get stuff out on the floor, though. I should have taken pictures. This thread needs more pictures.

This thread is about the UK it sold +125k copies in three days. Does that not count as extremely well?

It's doomed in all of Asia and Europe sans UK.

Anecdotal evidence

This is Belgium (Officially, the Xbox One hasn't been released here. Some retailers import them anyway, I guess the demand in other countries is not very high).

Meanwhile, I still haven't see a single PS4 since launch (+ 3months ago).

Only 72.4%? Seems rather low to be honest, especially when other consoles are seeing increases of 1000%.

Well, it's still a really decent number. Last official number was, PS4 outselling XB1 by 3:2. If that still holds up, than PS4 likely outsold XB1 even during the Titanfall launch week.
