You can still use a map when you need to.
Spent a couple hours last night researching how best to mod Skyrim. I've got about 250 hours on the Xbox360 version already, but now with a half-decent PC, figured it was time for another couple hundred hours, this time with mods and in full 1080p glory. Installed it today, worked through a semi-reasonable list of mods and started her up. Everything seems to have worked just fine, only glitch being a patch of water missing from the lake near Riverwood.
Saw I was running 60fps easy peasy so I figured I had room to downsample and have got it running fairly decently at 1440p. Outside, during dawn/dusk, I go through a period of 37-47fps or so, but I think I can live with that when everything else runs 55-60fps and it looks as nice as this:
Got a question, though. I would like properly dark nights. I've got CoT installed and I have it on the level 5 dark night setting, which isn't quite dark enough for me but going further seems to make all light sources dim considerably, which looks weird. Is there any good way to have nice, semi-realistic dark nights but also still have bright illuminated light sources?
You running EMB?
