Log Horizon S2 |OT| been down so long it looks like up to me

It took way too long for this show to get good. Everything before episode 9 was very weak and was inferior to SAO and .Hack.

The basic problem was that there was only 1 character who actually did anything and everybody was waiting on him to take charge. This was a risky idea to introducing the anime just like how MMOs are very player centric and it wasn't working for me.

I only kept sloshing through it because people said it was good and it finally started doing just that with the formation of the Round Table.

This show didn't become recommend worthy until the princess Queen's it up and does what the other nobles were unwilling or lacked the foresight to do.

It is when we got to the festival that I'm actually starting to enjoy the show for its comedy as well as its intrigue. This show is really rough but it's growing on me.

I thought the first 9 or so SAO episodes kicked the crap out of Log Horizon as well, a few issues not withstanding.

But ultimately SAO turned to shit while Log Horizon maintained its quality.

So that comicwalker thing has Log Horizon, but I think it's just a manga based off the anime which is based off the VN?

If season 2 gets a new |OT| I hope it's given a more eloquent title like:

Log Horizon season 2 |OT| Themepark MMO turns 1st-person sandbox

Log Horizon season 2 |OT| Sign up for a WoW-like, get stuck in fantasy EVE Online

Log Horizon season 2 |OT| The NPCs have had it with these pesky PCs

Technically, this is what happened in the (Log Horizon ending spoilers)
West
, since
foxy lady bought the local cathedral
.

Oh I know but unlike other MMO anime, LH didn't start out as such. And that it's not an instant death but requires some type of plan to have it happen

"Log Horizon" International Server Class Poll Goes Live

Elder Tale has 12 main classes, and the plan is to customize three for each of 13 different regional servers to reflect the character of the locale. Creator Mamare Touno took fan suggestions for how to reflect different regions of the globe. In the time since the first round ended last month, he's organized 2,400 submissions from 58 countries and prepared a second round of voting.

He's now looking for feedback on what he regarded as the promising submissions from round one. Newly launched voting for this round takes places online here.

Woot woot Second Season!

Wow wow much more database.

I only hope we get an OP in the second season that is even half as great as the first season's.

Log Horizon s25

Good end, but only in context of knowing s2 was coming - would've been pissed otherwise. But that's kind of a meaningless statement... well, foxy lady was fuckin' foxy as shit. Hell yeah.

Can't wait to see where this goes. I only disliked a single episode (fuckin' cake festival). Apart from that, probably my favourite anime I've seen in ages. Even counting Space Battleship Yamato, to be honest.

imho SAO was a shitshow from the very beginning, it just happened to get noticeably worse in the fairy dance arc. But even before that the show was full of Kirito being macked on by random girls for no reason, plot points resolving themselves in a nonsensical manner, things happening because Kirito was a dumbass and never acknoledging it, etc, etc.

The episode where it had three timeskips in one episode and the main guild wiped themselves out to an obvious trap and Kirito didn't save them because he was afraid of revealing his uber powers was so fucking stupid. Soooooooooooooo stupid.

lol the fucking Belgariad? Hahahahaha... I admit to enjoying that series but it's kind of in spite of itself. I'm glad this guy is a better plotter than Eddings ever was.

The concept wasn't stupid. In fact it seemed a bit cliche. Problem is, the whole thing was squeezed into 1 episode and was way too rushed. Episode felt like a boring powerpoint presentation.

What to watch to pass time until season 2 ;_;

You can watch maoyuu or ookami to koushinryo for the plot I guess. This season I only liked mikakunin, although I might watch chuu2, nourin, tonari no seki or witchcraft works.

I dunno man. They were a relatively experienced guild but nobody expected a trap from the chest standing suspiciously in the middle of an empty room. Kirito could've saved them at any time at the cost of revealing that he was like 30 levels above them but didn't because ???. Also the girl left her holo message just dramatically timed somehow to blather at Kirito like a few months after her death I think? I can't remember really anymore.

The twist about the phoenix down was good tho.

Anyway, Mamare confirmed this (huge) map is accurate, so get some city names ya'll.

She knew he was overleveled because she saw him operating his menu when he thought she was sleeping (on the same bed too. take that as you will lol). The message thing was left to kirito specifically for christmas or something. Something something about being scared of fighting, and thinking kirito would move ahead and stop protecting her or something.

She knew kirito was overleveled, he didn't say anything about the trap and got her killed. I like to think as she died, she said "Why didn't you tell us?" (iirc she said something but we couldn't hear it)

That still leaves Kirito as a humongeous asshole though

I like to think he wanted the pheonix down to redeem himself. Obviously it wouldn't work on Sachi.

The whole Asuna falling (deeper?) in love with damaged goods in order to heal him is also pretty cliche. My opinion is that she fell in love the second she tasted that butter lol. Asuna the glutton. Explains the max cooking skill

I don't think its complete though. Web novel indicates the existence of a derelict town called Tekeli (includes a shrine, aka respawn point), south of real-world Kazakhstan

4chan has an inordinate fascination with mamare's sister, lol.

"Also, also, 4chan! My little sister isn't 'tsundere' or 'awesome' at ALL! That kind of stuff is only in novels! It's an illusion! She's not like that AT ALL!"

Oh man I just watched episode 25, I can't believe season 2 is coming in so soon. Looking forward for this!

Isn't the internet just one big novel?

Eh Log Horizon is guilty of this too.

I do agree that that guild being introduced and killed off in like one episode, and Kirito getting a perfectly timed message from Sachi afterwards was hella-stupid though.

well tbf there are legit reasons for people to have a thing for shiroe purely based off the accomplishments he got done in like... what's the timespan of season 1, a year?

its like having the hots on for some silicon valley startup hotshot, vs say, having the hots for justin beiber.

Well, it's pretty much just the people who have been witnessing Shiroe pull of complex crazy strategies that have changed the social/cultural landscape of cities/realms. Whereas Kirito got macked on cos he's got a big sword and he's a nice guy(TM)? I dunno. Everyone falling in love with Kirito never felt earned, except Asuna cos she spent so long being tsundere.

I maintain my theory that Asuna was a glutton and was lured in by ragout rabbit.

In Shiroe's case, one is a guy who doesn't make fun of Akatsuki for being as short as a middle-schooler, but that doesn't mean he didn't think it. All about perceptions.

Minori's case is more like a student having a crush on her teacher. Both of them more believable than every girl just willy nilly falling for kirito

I'm not jelly alright?

As a marathoner I can finally start this show now that Crunchyroll has all the episodes. Watched the first four episodes and I'm loving it! And dat Opening!

Akatsuki is a really bad character. :(

Her little skit she does with Naotsugu (I think that was his name) was never funny and got more and more annoying the more I saw it. And yeah, I agree.

I'm pumped for season 2. But I hope there's no focus on Shiroe's harem at all. Another unfunny recurring joke.
