Just how well is the show doing? Enough to justify a second season? Is there enough material for it? And what's this about a tabletop game set in the universe?

As far as I know, there are 7 books out there, the show already covered book 1 to 5. May be they will make book 6 and 7 into a 13 episode season.

Good to know that a 2nd season has been confirmed. Hopefully the wait isn't going to be all that long. I really need to work on reading through the LNs.

Dont count on it, its gona be at least 2 years. Maybe if we are lucky 1 year and a half. This author seems to output 2 books a year.

Episode 23

Great episode.

The downside of watching this week by week though is that I've completely forgotten all the early warning signs of the advanced invasion/economic warfare force or whatever.

Season 2 confirmed?

Hell yeah. This is probably my favourite anime in this genre. None of that doom and gloom of SAO or philosophical talkytalky of .hack, just fun times in general.

I'm going through the FAQ. He says Europe is, like, dragon-slaying mercenaries and tales of honour and stuff. Japan's basically going through a steam engine renaissance. I assume the Australia/Oceania servers are basically just nonsensically high level mobs murdering everything ;___;

poor MMO australia

Atleast Australia is true in both worlds

So just like real life then? :P

Hopefully its trigun wild west or else it would be boring

I need to watch all of Trigun again, it was great.

Episode 23 was pretty good. Further some of character building and then set up for what's hopefully a great season 1 finale. It's only 24 episodes right?

I love this show's slow pacing, but man it doesn't feel like the season is gonna end in just two episodes.

Loved the bits in Ep. 23
where the Royal Guard show up for a brief moment every time Akatsuki is about to start fighting Naotsugu.

Log Horizon 24
Pretty decent episode
I really do hope this gets a second season and doesn't end on a big cliff hanger or something
Trust Shiroe to utilise fan girls and use them as effective weapon against the invasion/attack
The new villain Lord Marves is certainly creepy enough

Log of Thrones Episode 24:

God damn it, this show should not be the good, could not be this good, but it is, it bloody well is. Maybe it is too early to say that it will be my AOTY for 2014 but at the very least I think it has a place on the short list come the end of the year. Anyway, that was a brilliant bit of warfare. Lord Marwes, or his mistress, this Coal Black Queen whose name I will not spoil even here. Thank you TV Tropes for doing that for me. Anyway, the opposition is a force that has tested even the mighty Shiroe and almost beat him using a Joker stratagem. Pure random chaos who overall point is to confuse and clog up the system. It doesn't need to be laid out point by point. Though I doubt even they could have predicted legions of fangirls being the solution to, well, any problem. Anyway, it looks like this grand encounter at The Scale Festiavle is going to be a world changing, season ending event. The way they were hyping it up, that is going to be the catalyst and the cliffhanger for Season 2. THERE HAD BETTER BE A SEASON 2 OR WE RIOT!

Log Horizon - 24

Shit is going dooooooown. So when encountered with a troublesome problem
the solution is to throw a harem at it lol.

Can't wait to see how Shiroe handles this in the finale/last episode. As for the Coal Black Queen in the previews, doesn't she look like the one girl from Shiroe's flashbacks in getting him to join the Tea Party?

I thereby proclame that episode 22 did not happen and this show is a 10/10.

Don't think I'd go that high. Show would benefit from more/higher budget action sequences, I think - I mean, they spent so much time defining rules of the combat system and then pretty much ignored it for half the season. Less shipping would also be nice. And perhaps a slightly faster pace.

Thats not to say I don't like it though - its actually quite good.

I prefer exposition to action.
Less shipping, though, would indeed be nice. That's why i'm proclaming ep 22 did not exist.

Season 2 is not confirmed. I'm copying this from reddit:
link
もちろん交渉は、常に。 しかしいまお話しできることはありません。
"Of course it's being discussed. But right now I can't talk about it."
それはまだわからないのです。
"It's not known yet."
I'd say there is definitely a very good chance, but not confirmed.

I like shipping, I dont like how shiroe is starting to get every girl under the sun slowly, would be better if it was just him in akatsuki.

Yeah, they should keep that shit in harem anime. Feels too wish fulfilment-y for me.

Shiroe doesn't exactly seem to enjoy "That" attention from Minori, nor from Akatsuki for that matter.

If we need to have harem shit, i guess that having the main char actively try to defuse the situation is decent.
For example, in the author's previous work, Maou Maoyuu Yuusha (watch it btw):
Yuusha, the MC, actively tries to ship two girls that fall for him with others

I was interested how Lord Maves was protected by Adventurers. That's kind of interesting. They could just be flunkies, or they could be part of some kind of other player controller invasion force. Though I think author said they weren't so hot on PVP, so probably not.

Interested to see where the Queen thing goes next ep.

Neither did Kirito in Sword Art Online (Besides Asuka), yet it seems like that was one of people's biggest complaints about it.

Thanks to this thread, I finally have a new anime to watch. Have only watched the first 2, gonna binge-watch it more later today.

Kirito was too strong of a chick magnet and that made it too forced. All the girls seemed dumb and the romance was non-existent.

With Shiroe, one's a middle-school girl with a crush on her teacher, the other is living out a fantasy Chuunibyo style. They have actual personalities and stuff.

SAO too mainstream lol. The novels were pretty badly written and the anime was a further step down. At least the newer books are better.

it's probably because it's treated largely comedically in LH and doesn't bog down the plot too much. (Except for that goddamn cake episode. Worst episode.)
