Oh man, could you imagine the outrage if Nintendo saved this game from death
I'm aware of that, however this also lines up perfectly with what we know so far. Specially when you consider Itagaki's affinity to Microsoft. There's the cboat's rumor about Platinum's XB1 exclusive though.
edit: But still, I do think MS is the most likely to be the publisher.
You've seen my dreams.a hopeful scenario for this game/Valhalla
- Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo/Amazon pay millions and millions for Devil's Third.
- Game become mega hit somehow.
- Facebook buy the IP from Itakagi for a billion.
- Itakagi buys Ninja Gaiden IP back from Tecmo.
- Itakagi burn NGZ and NG3 source codes and bury them next to E.T cartridges.
- Valhalla Release NGB on steam.
- Itakagi reboot Ninja Gaiden and give a real NG game.
Itagaki said:I wanted to go for the metallic feeling of the Breitling that I love so much. But I don't really wanna tell you exactly why, sorry ;D"
This sentence is key...
Detective mode ON again:
"metallic felling"... "metalic"...
Hmm...
Metal = Grey
Platinium = Grey
Platinium Games = Grey/metallic looking Logo.

"metallic feeling" = the feeling of a Platinum-Games-like Nintendo announcment in the same vein as Bayonetta 2's = Devil's Third Wii U Exclusive annoucement.
THIS MUST BE IT!

Phil Spencer confirmed that they did not pick up this game.

They do have a history of rescuing troubled Japanese projects.Maybe it is Nintendo

The game will be sent to die if it's Nintendo. Itagaki is smart and I'm sure he knows the violent nature of this game won't appeal to the Wii-U demographic, regardless of whatever Nintendo is trying to do to make the console appeal more to hardcore gamers, not to mention the poor sales of the system. The game was already almost complete (~80%) when he started shopping it around for a new publisher anyway, so it's not like the new publisher would help that much with development. Itagaki and his colleagues had put a mortgage on their homes to finish the game.
If it's not Sony, it's multiplat folks. It's not MS, and Nintendo can do nothing for the game now. It's not the same case as Bayonetta 2.
Rumour: the French journalist/indie guy/dev' is at it again. Tweeted today:

My rough translation :
"The WiiU Exclusive will indeed be announced this year and/with more (to come)! And it will Rox!"

I really hope sony/nintendo didnt spend any money on this
Itagaki's games are usually technical feats. Whatever hardware they pick shouldn't hold the game back.
Why? I can understand Sony, because they have enough Character Action games and didn't need YET ANOTHER one, but Nintendo? It's a genre that would fit quite nicely in the Wii U's gaming library.

If I have followed this game's situation correctly, it was made for the PS3/Xbox 360? Several of my most anticipated upcoming games are in that class of hardware, and some, such as The Evil Within, are doing the whole "cross-gen" thing. Many games made for that class of hardware that released last year, GTAV, Last of Us, etc. were critically acclaimed and much enjoyed and nobody I know of has seen it as beneath those developers who made those games to have made them for that class of hardware... But if it's the whole "networked online shooter" thing you're implying that could be held back by certain platforms, then I might have to agree with that![]()
From the Wii U games thread:
The same guy who said he had seen a third party exclusive game for Wii U, from Japan and in the vein of Bayonetta, but a brand new IP.
I can already smell the tears if it's this game.
The thing is this is a online TPS though
and IIRC they partnered with a korean company for a tablet version. I don't think they want the game on any one platform

As ive mentioned, months ago, there was a tweet about a rumored new Wii U game, with the hint "you will bleed", or something like that. Now go watch the trailer, and see whats being exaggerated. Add that with this info, its definitely a possibility.
You got a source? Or is this information from 2010 before the game dissappeared into publisher-finding/development libo?

All of that info is thoroughly out of date at this point. It could be something completely different by the time it's revealed.
It was post THQ cancellation and the most recent (official)news about the game prior to it resurfacing this year(2012)
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...hird-back-on-track-via-joint-deal-with-doobic
So to me the Nintendo partnership seems the least likely because A: They want it on as many platforms as possible and B: It's supposed to have online modes, both for multiplayer(Itagaki has talked about playercount in past interviews) and connectivity with other platforms.
Both don't seem to fit Nintendo as Nintendo doesn't really seem to support tie-ins with other platforms and local multiplayer seems to be a much bigger focus for Wii-U as a platform than online
Unless the studio's core ideas for the game have changed radically since 2012.(to where it pretty much only shares a name with the game they were making in 2010) I think we can pretty safely rule out a Nintendo exclusive partnership.
Just a thought...
Why would MS pick up Devils Third, but not Bayo 2, if Bayo 2 has an established fan base?
Sounds like the company that saved Bayo 2, would be the company that picks up Devils Third.
I can be completely wrong, of course.
edit: Wasnt there a rumor, months ago, about a new Wii U game, that had a hint like "you will bleed"? Its in an old thread. People were speculating that it was Devils Third.
I think Bethesda will publish.
