Apparently games are about graphics rather than gameplay now.
Didn't you get the memo?
Apparently games are about graphics rather than gameplay now.
what is the heavy asset of this game to not reach 60fps? maybe light effects?
Whaaaat? The boats and planes were fantastic. Probably my favorite kart racer to date, honestly.Everyone else? I only played the WiiU version, and it was bad due to boats and planes, not due to FPS.
I think it's clear that the engine they created for GT5 and 6 is very much ready for PS4. They implemented so many visual features that needed to be pared down or too greatly impacted the performance levels. It felt as if the engine never had a chance to stretch its legs on PS3. I think they'll actually have an easier time getting up and running this time around.Man Polyphony has some extreme pressure upon them right now...i don't envy them.Really hope they have the technical power to take on the challenge of 1080p/60fps without sacrificing the visual density of the game.
Project cars was announced 1080p / 30 on both xb1 and ps4 last week.
Only thing my light google-fu turned up was that the WiiU version would be 720/30.

Lol . In a racing game where all u do is go left and right ? Yeah i don't think soResponsiveness?
I'd be curious what 'framerate' the physics and inputs work at. It is possible to have your physics still be 60Hz or higher while your graphics are rendering at 30fps. Likewise you could sample your inputs at 60Hz too.
So I'm just imagining Wii U GAF praising the fuck out of Sonic Transformed and NFS MWU when the system had no games?
But it's really an unfair comparison because PGR was a last gen game, and an early last gen game too. It could be acceptable for DRIVECLUB to be 30fps if it still was released last year, but they had additional time to work on the game and it's on the most powerful current gen console.
How does a game play "better" at 60fps?
Faster controller response.
Motorstorm was most certainly not 60 fps.Evolution's last racer, Motorstorm, aimed for a much broader audience than Driveclub and yet that game still had 60fps.
Source?
We always prefer to aim for 30fps generally in order to keep gameplay-specific features like having more cars on track or better weather effects etc.
So thats standard across all consoles, and were more likely to utilize the native 720p support of the Wii U for launch especially since our physics and rendering systems demand a lot of processing power in order to deliver a truly next-gen experience.
All you need to know is that when you get the game, itll look and feel amazing and youll want to show it off to your friends.
I hope that doesn't become a trend this gen...
It's struck me that it's concievably possible to have a game which runs two game logic updates for every one display update, giving you 60fps gameplay yet you only see half the frames.
I can't figure out if that'd actually be worth doing, though!
Turn 10 did this for Forza 1 and 2 where they polled controller input and ran physics at double the framerate, but they chose to go with 60fps with 3 and on for a reason. There's just nothing like 60fps, even with great blur.
This is total bullshit and you know it. Nintendo fans have been praising Nintendo for making most of its franchises run at 60 FPS to ensure the best gameplay for over 20 years.
Anyone recall what fps RalliSport Challenge was on xbox? I played the hell out of that game. I seem to be a 60fps snob lately but if that was 30 then I'm good.
Haters gonna hate.
In the end nobody will skip the game because is 30fps or 45fps or 60fps. The only reason to skip if it is a shit game.
My opinion.
But let's complain!!!!!!!!

It's more responsive.
Fine with me, fucking game looks like real life.
After viewing the trailer, I'm inclined to agree. Most gorgeous racer I've seen.

We love racing wheels! Were working closely with Thrustmaster to support their awesome wheels already and when Logitech support wheel peripherals on PlayStation 4 wed love to support them in DRIVECLUB too.
PGR4 and Forza Horizon were 30fps.
Not an issue. That is all.
So how about showing us some posts of Wii U owners praising those games for being 30 FPS then? I know it would actually be hard for you to back up your bullshit with actual evidence though.
What, people really choose 1080p over 60FPS?
I'm not cool with that. I'd rather have 900p and 30FPS than 1080p and 30FPS
I've seen in this very thread people saying they're not getting a 30fps racer.
Noooooooooooo. Okay. This is a left disappointment for me.30 is Native across all consoles. Wii-U is the only confirmed resolution so far.

no 60 fps no 60 dolars !!!
more money saved is always good
