Gamespot rumor: Big third-party Xbox One exclusive at E3

Man if RE7 turned out to be an Xbox exclusive...
Capcom would be losing a fan that loved 5 and even enjoyed 6 for what it was.
Resident Evil is not a game to sell me on an Xbox One, Halo ODST2 and maybe just maybe Halo 5 is.

I guess but would SE do it. Putting it only on X1 would pretty mich guarantee failure. I think they'll do it when they're ready, I doubt money is an issue since it's pretty much a guaranteed hit so long as they don't mess it up (which admittedly is asking a lot of current SE). I take it they're saving it as their ace in the hole if they ever need a last ditch effort to save themselves

It's funny, cause I could see that happening

I wonder if it's big established franchise with 5-6 mil. sales, or some smaller AAA game. Not sure who would even go Xbone 3rd party exclusive after seeing console and Titanfall sales.

It is more than likely from an independent studio. A studio like Crytek, ThatGameCompany, Epic, Bohemia, CDProjekt RED, Telltale, Gearbox, etc.

Yup, I think Epic makes the most sense, though it wouldn't be unexpected so who knows. Maybe it's something like DayZ, or LoL?

Thatgamecompany going exclusive would be a big slap in the face, as I said before I want MS to get their own identity and not jusy follow along and do what Sony's doing. How about they build up their first party, or create a pub fund type system to make studios like thatgamecomoany

mortal kombat considering it was xbox that put teaser pic up

That has to be the weakest rumor I have ever seen be reported on.

Wait I'm getting a message from one of my very reliable sources... It appears that Nintendo will announce a new game from one of it's existing franchises that will have fans "very excited".
C'mon!!

sorry but this rumour isn't new. it's been already rumoured that MS will drop at least 2 bombs, and Sony will drop one too at this year's E3

I don't think MK will be a XB1 exclusive, just because of the Injustice exclusivity for PS4, it seems to me WB have good relationships with Sony so I can't see WB releasing a XB1 exclusive

What if Microsoft chose to fund a new Mega Man.

I'm guessing it's most likely a Capcom IP though. RE7 seems like the safe bet.

My guess is something from their good friend Peter Moore and EA.

After MGS4, what is the last major 3rd party exclusive Sony has had? I really can't think of 1 off the top of my head.

IGN rumor: Nintendo to announce new 1st party title at E3

Kotaku rumor: Robocop cosplayer is not a real robot

Polygon report: Microsoft can do no wrong [UPDATE: they can]

The only third party exclusive that would get me excited about buying an Xbone would be the next Grand Theft Auto, but I don't think Microsoft wants to put another billion dollars into the xbox program.

I've never even heard of most of the games people are talking about here.

Nothing really, just some small Japanese game became auto exclusive because 360 sold bad at Japan like Tales of, Yakusa, Persona 5, nothing big.
Sony have no money.

Ryse 2 or Crysis 4

Higher chance for a Ryse 2 though.

One can hope... Ryse was not a great game, by any stretch, but the potential is there and it deserves another chance.

It's not going to be Shenmue, hell if it werenot for here I would have never heard of it. They will be going for numbers not niche markets.

Wait what's the difference between 2nd and 3rd party again

third party is a developer who makes games for a first-party developer's hardware. 2nd party is a term nintendo came up with to describe third-parties who worked exclusively with them during the n64 era.

all that really matter is this- if the developer is a third-party and they're making a first-party property- you can treat it as though it's a first-party game (see also, the psp god of war games, luigi's mansion 2, and bungie with halo odst and reach). if it's a third-party making an exclusive title they hold the rights to, you can treat it as a third-party game, although the likelihood of it appearing on other systems can range from unlikely to nearly impossible (see also bayonetta 2, danganronpa, and dead rising 3).

Sony have no money.

Sony spends their money on their first and second party studios rather than moneyhatting. A far more preferable startegy in my opinion.

Probably western. If it's from JP, I'd say Shenmue 3 since Sega is a big third party. Platinum games is not that big.

What a source. Hey there'll be a big exclusive but I'm not telling! Seriously, why even publish this story if it's doesn't tell you anything.

There was no moneyhat, just funding and saving endangered IP.
Next poster will tell you a story about something something final hour.

How does gamespot get away with running such a detail-free non-story?

They probably took it to their editor who had a note on their door saying "I am at a thing somewhere either pretty far or fairly close to here and will be back at an unspecified time, if you need my approval on anything, then please do that thing you think I would do," so they ran with it.

Also, if it's Nagano, it's not a 3rd party game but a 1st party title as Microsoft funds it. Wonderful 101 isn't a 3rd party exclusive either, and especially not a big exclusive.

Hmmm that's a good point. But maybe its something from Platinum, but MS is not the publisher?
