Broforce - a frenetic arcade shooter, play as your favorite action movie heroes

F1 puts the game in slow motion. Looks like it's a developer tool kind of thing, but damn, it's awesome to appreciate the mayhem in slow mo and it's the perfect way to get screenshots
 
Gaf...I'm SOOO on the fence with this game. I want it...but not at 15. like if it was 10, I'd jump right in. man....its just 5 more dollars right?
 
This game is not only AMAZING but if you turn off the music and play the Blood Brothers III: Back in America track, the nostalgic hit is euphoric.

New update

We got a lot of feedback that the campaign had gotten too long and unmanageable. BROFORCE had to shoot/knife/explode their way through the entire campaign to visit any new locations to liberate.

So we've developed a way to deliver intel on new liberation-ready locations for BROFORCE to fly to in their freedom chopper. We now provide a visualization of the globalization of your democratization!

My friend bought this for me the other day and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I started playing the new mode that was added today and saw 2 new bosses I hadn't encountered before in my 2 previous playthroughs.

As of now this is just a 20 minute snack here and there for me until some content with some meat on it arrives.

^Agreed. I bought this game a few weeks ago and have been giving it the 30 minute play every weekend to feed my own creative juices(copying lol). No seriously, this game is awesome, very easy to play, and I don't need any instructions. Doesn't get better than that.

sorta necro bumping because I want to talk about this game. It's pretty awesome. Go buy it now.
 
Broforce is going to get even more awesomer in the next update. Two new bros (one that the devs say has never been suggested before) and this:

So the devs haven't posted a changelog yet, but going by the Steam forums, we now have:

- mechs
- Universal Soldier (can revive himself immediately after death and can ressurect dead bodies to help)
- Time Cop (powerful laser, can slow time)
- James Braddock (grenade launcher, special is a grenade that splits into a cluster of grenades)
- Indy was changed so his whip is his main weapon and he has a powerful pistol shot as his special

Is it supposed to drop soon? I kinda want to replay the SP campaign again.

I'm pretty sure the updates already out. My game is up to date. The dev said some of the new bros weren't supposed to be added yet, so they're going to removed for the moment

My favorite new one so far is Universal Soldier. You can even resurrect dead heroes to fight with you and have double or triple the firepower. That'll probably have to be balanced

Edit: yeah, Cherry from Planet Terror (girl with the machine gun leg) had been added, but wasn't finished and was patched out

Ah. I checked the Recently Updated tab on Steam and didn't see Broforce, but I checked my downloads and it was updated less than an hour ago.
 
I've been eyeing the game for some time and one of my friends got it for me as a birthday gift. Can't wait to dig in.

Question - just how complete is this game? Early access type of games usually throw me off (I accidentally ended up buying Mercenary Kings twice and never caught onto how much was lacking in it's pre-release).

Both are very different, somehow. Broforce is more frantic, Mercenary Kings is more like Contra/Metal Slug. Broforce is literally Metal Slug on cocaine.
 
yeah, i was smiling when i watched the broforce trailer, i went to take a look at mercenary kings and it just seems plain

but i heard mercenary kings has a lot of replayability because of the weapon crafting, how replayable is this?

I have both. Never really got into Merc Kings

I've played Broforce for at least 15+ hours. It's fun. The cool thing is that because the bros you play are selected randomly, you can play a level a five times and get a different experience each time, because the bros play so differently. You can't approach a situation with Rambo the same way you would with Indy or Neo

Also check the OP. There's an early alpha demo for Broforce. If you like that, you'll love current Broforce. More heroes, new levels, new enemies, bosses, etc.
 
It's not that I don't think it looks killer, but my personal principles prevent me from pulling the trigger on an Early Access title.

How complete would you say Broforce is, and is there at least an estimation to when it will be completed?
 
ok i think i'll get broforce instead
i have like 7 dollars on my paypal, this game is currently 10
can i use paypal to pay fully for the game and then paypal to charge me the 3 dollars difference? i don't have a lot of experience buying digital games, most of the steam games i own i trade using my tf2 stuff since i don't play it anymore

I don't like Mercenary Kings at all.
Controls are unresponsive, jumping is crap and the whole level progression thing just rubs me the wrong way. Got it for free and I'm glad I didn't pay a cent for it.

I don't recall what the estimated time frame is, and in terms of content, the game isn't done by a long shot (they still haven't begun to add the alien levels). But there is a hefty amount of content already (4-5 hour campaign, user levels, multplayer). Also like I said above, because the bros play differently, you can replay a mission several times and need to use different tactics depending on what Bros you get.

i'm just 1 click away from purchasing the game and would really like to know this, that 7 dollars has been stuck there for over a year lol
