Because I'm tired of this being used as an excuse to actually engage in a discussion, I own both the PS4 and PS3. I even own a JP360 (just to play Senko no Ronde DUO) and considered buying a JPPS3 just to play Demon's Souls early. This doesn't excuse the problem. God people would lose their shit if this was a PS4 exclusive to Japan and would be using these same arguments to justify why it shouldn't be a PS4 exclusive in Japan.

PS3 is region free. Why would you need to do that?

Well that's silly because both ps3 and ps4 are region free. You should call your 2009 self and let them know!

Lol, what? When you have Dark Souls as a multiplatform game you have to expect this game being port begged. It's basically the same franchise with a different name (and a few things).

But that's exactly my point, a Souls quality game is a system seller to most people who care. And that comes from someone who's used to the series at 60fps (didn't play Demon's), but even so I'm ok with this, I'll just buy a PS4 and play the hell out of this.

Why is port begging even a thing? People need to revert back to old console war style shittalking and just call the exclusives on the competing platform garbage.

This would be great. They should split up the regions again so JP PVP can be good, just like Demon's Souls glory days.

Did you make this big of a deal when Bayonetta 2 was revealed to be Wii U exclusive? Im seeing alot of the same arguments from people just being reversed.

There is already precedence of Sony and From working together on an exclusive which predates Dark Souls. Plus Sony is co developing this game.

So are people thinking this is a Demon's Souls sequel, or a spin-off? If it is a spin-off, is Sony just going to sit on the Demon's Souls name?

Spiritual successor to Demon's Souls developed with help from Japan Studio was the word long before these leaks surfaced.

LOL.

So basically people realize they're getting upset that Sony isn't paying for publishing the game on rival consoles/platforms, along with not helping FROM with Dev costs for XB1 and PC versions, right? Cuz that's what happening here.

Done.

...why? None of the console souls games are 60 fps. Or even 30 fps really.

Dark Souls 2 on the 360 is uncapped and it runs (for the most part) way higher than 30 fps (wont say it reachs 60 fps because I really dont know).

Im think this game will run at 60 fps

Oh ok, sorry I totally misread it.

Why the hell didn't you play Demon's Souls? :o

There's no real consumer benefit to a game being platform exclusive, but with that said, if the game wouldn't have existed without Sony's funding, having it on one platform is better than none.
Exclusives almost allways have better graphics and take advantage of platform specific features remote play touch pad etc.

That weapon is interesting, it's folded when hitting those zombies but he flings it open for the boss.

Also there is blood all over the cape at the boss scene.

I see. It looks damn awesome but I wonder how ,many fans will still be waiting for an actual Demon's Souls 2? From are obviously doing well enough to have multiple spin-offs of the same series.

Post history makes it too hard in the prerelease world.

There's too much evidence of too many people liking souls, so at best you can concern troll. For example:

I am worried Miyazaki will be distracted given his new duties as president of from...

I am concerned this game will not have the essence of the dark souls experience as recorded vaguely in my post from 2011 regarding my girlfriend as linked here...

THEN when the game comes out you can say it is total shit because it has screen tearing in one level.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what makes this as super amazing great as everyone says? Don't get me wrong, I love From Soft and their work, but that was just a handful of a scenes. They look amazing, but just looking at the first page, that's quite a reaction.

Is it because it was a rumor first?

Edit : Forgot to say, great job on that E3 .webm.

Wasn't aware of this, but thanks for letting me know. Still, given that a simple firmware update can change this, it's not something I don't worry about on closed hardware.
Did you make this big of a deal when Bayonetta 2 was revealed to be Wii U exclusive? Im seeing alot of the same arguments from people just being reversed.
No, but I don't own a WiiU and I've never been terribly interested in the Bayonetta series. More to the point though, I still would like to see those games come to an open platform. I work in data preservation and software history and it's a huge issue for institutions to deal with closed software and hardware (more the latter than the former).

I'll fix this shit as soon as possible, it's just that I've been playing Dark Souls since christmas and I only stopped playing it when Dark Souls 2 came out, so now I still have to play II for a few more hours (lol) and then I'll get to Demon's.

Ummmm. You could have just bought JP Demon's Souls. All PlayStation platforms since the PSP have been region-free.

You answered your own question.

I still have yet to play a single Souls game.

People seem to love it...I think I need to try one.

Which should I play to get the best overall experience?

They're not gonna region-lock the consoles. They leave the region-locking up to the publishers.

This points could be valid! All that's left is for Microsoft to pay another developer to make a Souls-esque game exclusive to the XB1.

"T..this looks like garbage anyway. Nightz Lordz™ for XB1 looks better than this Souls rehash crap.."

Demon's Souls.

I still have to play Dark Souls and Dark Souls II so yeah, I'm in a worse position.

Will this be at E3? I'm imagining the crowd's reaction.

As someone who loves Demon's the most...I'll say Dark Souls.

I think Demon's is the better game, but, Dark Souls is a great entry point.

Mm... hardware manufacturers haven't really seemed to back this up. Just recently nVidia and the Unreal guys have started a form of hardware exclusivity where specific functions are only available to nVidia cards. That makes it really difficult on AMD when they have to compete against "this only works on nVidia because it's built into the hardware."

Demon's Souls.

Demon souls.

Probably this one. Or Demons' Souls

Looks like I need to play Demons Souls, lol.

Thanks guys.

How is Dark Souls? I see it on sale on Steam all the time.

Edit**

I personally would say : Dark Souls. Or even Dark Souls 2.

As good as or similar to Demons?

In an ideal world all games would be released on GNU/Linux systems with their source-code at the same time. However, exclusivity on a single-closed platform can benefit the game itself.
