It is just a word, people.
It gets censored on TVs so children don't hear it, but what is the point of censoring words on the internet? It's getting rather silly.
You're a word.

1. There's a big difference between what's in that video and shooting someone and seeing their pain and anguish and suffering first hand.
2. We trial kids as juveniles for this very reason...
It does cause pain, but only when directing it to someone. There's no negative response to what he's doing there at the time to make him stop and rethink his actions.
wonder what Floyd's reaction will be since Bieber has become part of his entourage

And the law is actually infallible and not terribly retarded very often.
Come on guys, he has black friends

I made my sarcasm as clear as the internets allows. I don't really think Beiber has mentally developed at all since he was 14. And I don't think he was a particularly advanced 14 year old.
In Florida they gave a 15 year old life in prison for accidentally killing his neighbor because he was reenacting wrestling moves he saw on TV.
Food for thought.
Yes, they tend to get bullied. I was one of them
How many of you used the word "faggot" when growing up and didn't know any better? Your view of the world as a kid is very very narrow.
Is "I'll be part of the KKK" just a word too?![]()
It is just a word, people.
What is it w/ TMZ's timing on releasing these and how are they even acquiring the tapes to begin with?
I'm not gonna play into their hand.
He does more than say the n-word in that video...
Bloodrage said:Is "I'll be part of the KKK" just a word too?
Yikes at the video and anyone who's defending it.
What does being 14 have anything to do with anything? It doesn't excuse this shit.
Real talk: Don't apologize for it, Biebs. They media will watch you squirm and when you are done say "okay, you're still fucked and we don't forgive you." If you meant it as a joke, say it's a joke. If you meant it to be racist, stand by your opinions as a racist, and if you are ashamed of them, change. But, nobody likes a groveler. Mean what you say and say what you mean, or don't say anything.
To quote Patrice Oneal "I didn't think Kramer was a racist until he apologized."
So they should be tried as adults why?I'm sure you wouldn't mind sharing these views the thread below then?

Well supposedly he wasn't the originator of this new one either.
Is "I'll be part of the KKK" just a word too?
Unfortunately, Patrice O'Neal didn't have a monopoly on public opinion.
Damn, what a completely unoriginal racyst.
The black community won't be outraged because they have been beaten down mentally over the past decades so much to point were they would defend or make excuses for supremacist views or statements from people who don't like them. Bieber is a supremacist plan and simple and he learnt it from his environment, like a lot of Europeans, not all but seeing how people on this site and other sites try to defend his supremacist ways shows you that there are a lot of people with similar views that they don't want to share. Because Bieber has black friends means jack shit, why put your bullshit conviction over possible millions? And anyone saying get over it, nigger is just a word like faggot, stfu because the two words have a history that can't be compared.
So they should be tried as adults why?
I do think there is a completely different mentality required to make original racist statements rather than just parrot ones you've heard.
Just wanted to make sure you're consistent regardless of the actions.
That case was ridiculous.. but the kid beat the shit out of a 6 year old girl.. she had far more injuries than what was accounted for in him and his mom's claim.
And he was let go IIRC a year later and given probation. Which was the original plea deal they turned down.
But can you just say what you think should happen to Bieber Angelus?
All of this beating around the bush.. you think what you say at 14 should end your career? Or impirosned for life? What exactly is your point? Murder is the only thing we try kids for as adults for the most part.. so racist jokes = murder?
His "joke" is awful.. disgusting, and really should be used as an example. But really it's his trashy as hell parents that should be condemned for raising him that way IMO. When your parents are dirtbags you don't have much of a chance to turn out to be a good teenager.
The funny thing is that Usher was his mentor LOL
And no, my point is that this argument that "14 is too young" is arbitrary bullshit. Depending on what the situation is 14 is damn well old enough, and in Bieber's case he was old enough to know what he was doing was wrong. 11 is when people start developing their formal cognitive awareness and begin being able to reason about their thought processes and monitor them; they begin to formally understand the notion of consequences and ramifications of action.

Haha what a piece of shit.
For sure. In particular, his opinions on women. However, this is one point I agree with. I thought Michael Richards got flustered and went for the cruelest, hurtful thing he could say to the hecklers because he's a shitty comedian and didn't know how to deal with it. But, he goes out and says "i've had these feelings of hate that bubble up in me" and I'm like 'oh, I guess he is actually a racist."
Re-read the statement. He won't be shaken down *anymore*. Guess people have made quite a profit over the years thanks to these videos.
And as proof that blind items aren't necessarily fabricated, these videos were talked about back in 2011:
This squeaky clean sensation has an ugly side captured on tape! While recording a new album he broke into an impromptu rap dropping derogatory terms about African Americans and Jews. SOMEHOW the tape wound up at a popular entertainment news show. They made a quick deal and, lo and behold, the tape was killed in exchange for numerous appearances by our bad boy!
He's Canadian, brah
I think what some people don't understand is that those saying "He was only 14!" aren't defending what he said. It's more that yes, at that age, a fair number of kids say things for shock value and say them because they KNOW they are wrong. They say it because it makes them feel edgy, or powerful, or what have you. Kinda the same way a lot of younger kids love to swear, because they know they aren't supposed to.
Racial jokes and crap like this can seem harmless to a lot of people who don't deal with it on a regular basis, or ever. They don't GET the real nastiness of it, because quite simply they have never seen the actual effects it can have on people. Especially when you aren't surrounded by people with other word views. In that regard, 'Nigger' simply becomes another naughty word, and racist jokes are funny because they are 'wrong' and forbidden. I don't doubt he gained a much greater understanding of how bad what he said was once he actually dealt with black people on a regular basis. Is he a dumbass? Yes, but at least he seems to be doing the smart thing and getting out ahead of this by releasing the video itself.
So I give him props on that at least.
And I hate the kid...
The law isn't consistent either.. murder is about the only thing a "child" can be tried as an adult for.
It's really not as good of an example as some of you think. Saying racist things is not very relatable to murder.
To be clear, I wasn't comparing murder and making a racist "joke". Just the inconsistency some people have in regards to when someone is "too young and innocent" and when they are old enough to know better. In the example thread, there weren't too many posters arguing that those girls didn't know what they were doing/they shouldn't be tried as adults.
