PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

I've been trying to survive but it is getting kinda hard managing between healing myself, buying food or getting money. I'm playing on hard on Adventuresome mode, and nothing ever drops, I'm kinda almost getting starved already.
This is the first time I listened to the general consensus and didn't start a game on hard. I heard that the difficulty spikes in hard mode make the already grindy nature 5x worse. Normal it's no walk in the park either...

Haha, everyone gets beaten by this mofo, on this very part! I first fought him at level 10 and eventually gave up, got to level 15, upped my stats and went back.

I'd like to know how corrosivefrost got through this boss on Fury (congrats, btw!)
Hahahah! Good to know I'm not alone >< I'm level 13, I've fought him 3 times already.. I can't fathom Fury mode. Corrosivefrost, I'm impressed; congrats!

Might be time to clean up my PSN friend list. >.>

I hope that isn't anyone here.

Heads up: Monday (or Tuesday if you're in Europe) is the last day to get Soul Sacrifice Delta with the bonuses. This PS Blog post says the bonus offer will be only available for 4 weeks, and this Monday marks the last day of the 4th week for that.

Wait, someone is using PSN group chat to direct people to uncensored Japanese porn? The heck...

I had a former PSN friend beg everyone for porno pics in exchange for a (non-existant) PSN code. Someone actually did it and both kept dragging it out until I reported both and left the conversation.

Congrats. I guess your previous fury mode run gave you a good idea of how to go about it

Partially, yeah.
Also, it's only 3 total bosses, so it's not like trying to do it with both kisuke and momohime. And you don't have to do any caves of evil or deal with maxing level either.

Hey everyone! I’m Corey Rollins from Klei Entertainment, and I’m happy to announce Don’t Starve: Giant Edition is coming to PlayStation Vita and will include both Don’t Starve and the Reign of Giants Expansion. Now, we’re not sure of an exact release date yet, but it’s happening.

Since we first released Don’t Starve: Console Edition on PS4, a lot of people said they’d love to play it on the go with their Vita. Well, we agree!

Don’t Starve: Giant Edition will include the original Don’t Starve along with all of the updates currently released on PC and PS4, including the multi-leveled caves update and the discoverable “Adventure Mode” that puts your survival skills to the test with multiple randomly-generated unique worlds as you try to escape your wild and strange prison.

Along with the original version of Don’t Starve, you’ll also get the Reign of Giants Expansion included! So Vita players will get access to the original nine characters and two new additions. Play as Wigfrid, a stage actress who went a bit too far with method acting on her latest role, an ancient Valkyrie, or Webber, a young boy who lives inside the spider who tried to eat him long ago.
Woah.

Well, if it's a free upgrade or something, I guess I'll finally play the game. Ever since they compromised their "vision" of no achievements to get on Sony platforms and refused to port the trophies to the Steam version as acheivements, I've stopped supporting Klei. I suppose if I can play it on Vita with trophies, that's a good enough compromise, but only if it costs me little to nothing because I still don't really want to give Klei any money at this point.

Wow the EU PSN store on the PS4 looks way better now. The section for promotions should've been here since the start really. The PS+ section is great too. The store still has some ways to go but I like the improvements.

AssCreed and Battlefield also got permanent, I think, price reductions to 50 euros. Hopefully this will signal a trend for cheaper digital games.

Nope, they are just on sale.

And why is the PS Store still advertising me to purchase Plus when I'm already a member?

Well, they only show the new price while outlast and thief show the old one so I assumed wrong. I take that back then.

Still, at least there's a promotions tab now but it clearly still needs tons of work.

so whats the deal with soul sacrifice delta, is it good real time combat or what?
It's more of a "know how long your attack animation takes and find the appropriate window to pull it off" kind of thing. I don't want to compare it to Monster Hunter, but yeah, that's the feel.

Of course everything else is completely different. You don't fight with weapons necessarily, you don't wear armour.
You have six slots for spells. Some spells summon a weapon which lasts for let's say 45 seconds and you can slash or charge attack with them. Then you have your direct attack spells and support spells (heal, summon armour). Another weird class of spells are those that put throwing javelins in your hand which have some sort of auto-target lock going on. Press again to fire. The "explosion" area effect spells are similar to that.

Super-weird spells let you summon golems, transform into a huge rolling rock things and whatnot.

Almost everything I mentioned up to here comes in the six different elemental flavours plus neutral. Elemental strengths and weaknesses are a big thing in Soul Sac.

There are also spells that set "traps" in the environment, spells that alter your evasion (burrowing underground whenever you dodge is an option!), spells that let you body-check enemies, and all manner of unique attack spells you can get from bosses.

The thing to keep in mind is you have six slots. You have much more stuff than you can take into any one battle, so you need to decide on loadouts appropriate to the fight ahead.

It's really good.

Well, I just got the means to get a PS4, but became scared because my friend works with repairs and have seen a lot of PS4 going there because of overheating. I'll wait for a revision then, shame because I wanted to get one this year.

The majority of consoles sent to repairs are overheating because people put them in stupid places, you shouldn't worry.

I told him that, but he kept telling stuff about the PS4 dissipation and fan, and how it is too small and things like that. I tend to trust him because he is very knowledgeable with hardware and stuff, but I also understand that Sony had many teams of competent engineers working on the project. It makes me worried because here it is a lot of money that I would spend on something, like 2-3x the price on the US.

This isn't /b/ or /v/ m8. Don't think you should be using that word around here
I guess the word is f**, right? sorry :( didn't want to use it in an offensive way, I thought that could be used while joking - english is not my first language so it's possible that I could use a word while not knowing all of its meaning and whether it's very offensive.

1001 Spikes is awesome. I was a little apprehensive at the price, but there's three arcade modes along with the story mode and each is like its own separate game, haha. So yeah, no shortage of content, and the game really is tough as nails. I really wish it mimicked 16-bit or 32-bit pixel art instead of whatever low-fi look it has now, but that's about my only complaint.

No worries, pal, but at this point you're better off finding another word to use. To a lot of folks that's the equivalent of the n word. You're alright.

My PS4 doesn't even get hot. Are they putting it through hours and hours of use at a time or something?

Thanks :) I changed that part of the post, and yeah I think I won't use it again on boards.

Though I don't know if I got what the n word is, the one that is... written similarly to Niger?

btw gaf I'm going through the first four Crash platformers. I've just finished for the first time Cortex Strikes Back for the first time and rushed through all of the first Crash Bandicoot within less than a day with 5/26 gems and one of the two keys. It's much shorter and easier than I remember it to be, though getting all the gems must be a pain in the ass since you have to get all the boxes with a single life. Sunset Vista and Slippery Climb were the most difficult levels when I first played it when I was 9, and they still are, but I was expecting something really much more difficult.

The final boss was easy too, though not as easy as the ridiculous final boss of Crash 2.

The more polished games is CSB, but the first one has definitely more variety in the levels and a more satisfying platforming. Both have flaws in the gems collecting imo.

I'm re-evaluating the series, it's still my least favourite Sony platformers(except LBP which it's much worse, and Puppeeter and Tearaway because I didn't play them) but now it's definitely closer to the others.

Now it's your time Warped. I wish I could play Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity on a handheld :(

Crash Warped is one of my favorite games of all time. Takes the formula of 1 and 2 and perfects it so much that it is hard for me to go back to 1/2 afterwards. One of the only games I've ever played where I beat the final boss and still went back and got 100% (well, 102% in warped) even though there were no trophies or extra reasons to do so. I have a save file right now with every platinum relic that took me over 3 years to complete off and on. Fantastic game.

That said, I am glad they don't make more Crash games, and I don't think the game even needs an HD remake. The PS1 classic looks perfectly good on my vita and HDTV as is, and the nature of the game means it doesn't really need any modern conveniences added.
