Sony E3 2014 Conference Thread

The TV stuff really slowed it down, it was near perfect besides that.

I think it was a great conference, many a detractor will have to eat crow this night, unless of course they just don't like what Sony is offering in the first place.

Best conference in my opinion.

LOL at all the bellyaching.

What the hell were people expecting? I'll admit disappointment in the lack of TLG but aside from that, the showing was very impressive.

MS had the best conference and kind of sold me on a xb1, closely followed by Ubisoft.
Sony and EA were pure dissapointment

Same, sony really dropped the ball tonight. Didn't help that the stupid e3 ps4 app stopped working 15 minutes in so I had to finish watching on my phone...

As someone who didn't really care about almost any of the games at any of the conferences so far...

Sony: 8/10 (Probably had the most interesting games; horrid pacing at times; good pacing at other times)
Ubisoft: 7/10 (Had a few interesting games; made other games look fun; decent pacing)
Microsoft: 7/10 (Good pacing; meh games; no fluff though)
EA: 1.5/10 (Being generous)

Not particularly impressed with any of the conferences but I bumped them all up half a point because my previous scores were too harsh. Looking forward to Nintendo's conference tomorrow but I'm prepared to give them a 0/10 if they screw around with Nintendoland fireworks or something stupid like that. Oh, also wish I didn't waste my time with EA's conference.

I have to say... I wonder if there is any place for someone who just loves RPGs.... Sony just didn't have what I wanted to see. It was an okay conference over all. A few games I like and definitely will get but still...

=\

Made up with the GTA V news, especially for my PC friends. Uncharted/No Mans Sky are the highlights for me as the rest was meh, I might pick up the Infamous DLC at some point. The whole TV thing made me laugh especially as that Sean guy had a jab at MS with "it's all about the games right "

Next year I feel is when we really start to see the PS4 and Xbox One shine

So is everyone okay with the concept of exclusive DLC now that Sony has locked up tons of exclusive third party DLC?

Just curious...

I'm honestly surprised by the As for Sony. There were a ton of games that I'm looking forward to playing on the PS4, but a lot of them are either ports/remakes/sequels or multi-platform. The only thing that really excited me was seeing Uncharted 4's ridiculous graphics. I was hoping for more surprising new first-party IPs.

I thought it was great.

Bloodborne. My lord.

Only thing I didn't like was Layden. Having the new "Jack" host the least interesting segment was an awful way to introduce him to the fan-base.

They REALLY shouldn't have given Layden the network and TV job for his first ever E3. They should have given him one of the megatons.

79% Sony
71% Microsoft
64% Ubisoft
46% EA

Sony won clearly but would have been significantly better without boring comic book guy, TV shows and boring stats. Also what the heck was going on with that double Vib Ribbon mention not turning into an announcement. I mean that was just so odd.
Sony didn't "clearly" win. Microsoft's conference was better in every way in my opinion. Uncharted 4 is the only thing that saved Sony, and even that wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be.

Man, that was a boring conference. Aside from Uncharted, Batman Arkham Knight and the new From Software game, everything was pretty underwhelming. Maybe i'm just a being a bit cynical, but the whole "megatons at e3" hype seemed to promise more.

I really wish Jack Trentton was still CEO.

MS had the better conference in terms of pacing and flow, but Sony had the better games to show overall (although most of them were multi plat). Whoever came up with the "letter"-stuff should be fired IMMEDIATELY. Should have done just the joke.

Bingo. My sentiments exactly.
Me too. Sony had variety. I counted 2 shooters compared to Xbox One's 4 (Halo, Crackdown, Overdrive, Call of Duty). The Xbox One only had two games going for it, one being a port/remaster. Sony had 2015 games compared to 2016 games like Platinum's and Crackdown. The Last Guardian is a 2016 game, so they did not show it.

Can't say which of the conferences grabbed me more. Microsoft had better pacing, but the least interesting showing in exclusives and CGI heavy. Liked the exclusives more on Sony's end and the gameplay showcases (not to mention better trailers), but it was boring and disjointed among all the PSNow and PSTV talk. Microsoft was smart in putting all of the background shit into press releases and Xbox Live bulletin announcements.

I'll just give them both a thumbs up. Not expecting anything major from Nintendo outside of LoZ or Metroid being the featured game. Don't see X as some magical savior, and anything else is probably par for the course, despite how awesome they may be (SSB). Will probably do as well though. Don't see how they can go into Ubi/EA territory.

Everyone is talking how they wanted to be surprised.
Undoubtedly if there were no leaks, both the Sony and Microsoft conferences would literally blow all of our heads.

I wonder if people will still want these leaks in the future...

Great show. Started out incredibly strong, pacing was off in the middle, then closed well. Overall great selection of games!

Highlights:
Bloodborne
No Man's Sky
The Order 1886
LittleBigPlanet 3
Batman Arkham Knight
Uncharted 4

I'm seriously still wondering why that whole comics thing was so fucking long.
So I take it Bloodborne is a set protagonist and not a Souls-like customizable. Interested in multiplayer if any, that could be a huge hit to the game if it's SP only.
People assumed the same thing about Dark Souls 2.

This is something I'm struggling with. Going to be tough missing out on games like Crackdown, Fable and Gears. Not a big fan of the Sony exclusives but I had to go Sony with the best looking multiplats. Just don't think I have the time anymore to invest in both consoles.

I was extremely apprehensive about getting a Xbone, but now I'm leaning towards the Bone more than anything else.

What was Sony thinking with all that TV crap in the middle?! It ruined what could have been a great conference.

Overall rankings:
Microsoft: B (They showed of only games, which is always a plus)
Ubisoft: C+ (AC:Unity was great, everything else was OK)
Sony: D+ (Good game showing, but it dragged on and had TV as a focus for a time)
EA: D (Nothing interested me except for Battlefront, and that footage wasn't even in beta yet)

I can see Nintendo winning this. Smash, Zelda, Pokémon, and a couple megatons will give them an easy victory.

Sony wins. They had an awesome 1st party showing, and nearly every big 3rd party game showed up. To any 'casual' viewer PS4 'has all the big games!' they want to play + much moar.

and let's not forget Project Morpheus, which leaves MS and Nintendo completely ass-out.

Sony 'won' E3 by a landslide.

If you were disappointed, blame the leaks

Yeh it ruined the Msoft presser for me. Bloody insiders ruining the fun of everything.

Also lack of uncharted gameplay kinda ruined it for me, my most anticipated game to be shown. I didn't have high expectations for Sonys presser because most studios weren't showing anything so next year it is.

Unfortunate that the middle of the conference is going to make people forget the (IMO) amazing beginning - the Order, LBP3(!), Project Beast(!!!), No Man's Sky, etc.

The TV stuff was talk about ONE show! Why are people acting like it took a huge part? Layden talked more about PSNow and the PSTVita thing.

Finally some werewolf footage from The Order, that looked cool. And confirmation of No mans sky coming to PS4. But GTAV coming to PS4 this year is fucking sweet..
Im interested in seeing more of Dead Island 2, i thought Dying Light was pretty much the next Dead island under a different name... pretty decent conference, nothing really mind blowing..

By far the best conference today imo.

Bloodborne, UC4, TLOU: R, MKX.

Only downside was no Last Guardian.

It really was IMO, lots of variety, a lot of funky colors.
Was going well until the Shawn Layden bit and the Comic part those could have been kept shorter.

If TLG was there or 1 more JPN game it would have been perfect for me, glad that I stayed awake though.
It was well worth it.
