there's no gameplay, other than some annoying flying through rings that penalizes you excessively and makes you play more of its bullshit, and then it turns into superman 64
also it's laggy (which makes no sense since it looks terrible in its attempt to be 'artistic')
Who plays only exclusives? Let's stop being fanboys and judge the conferences as a whole. Sony killed it. Microsoft tried too hard. EA was boring besides BF and Ubisoft keeps,on surprising me.
MS/Spencer overhyped it. In the end, it was a "Halo show" and an average presser.
SONY's conference was "bigger". Announcements were great.
Bloodborne, Uncharted, The Order: 1886, LBP3, No Man's Sky and Grim Fandango were killing it. GTA5/Batman/FarCry4/MGS5 etc. etc.were a damn nice bonus.
In the end, SONY won the conference battle.
Seriously? Too bad, it was one of the very few games that actually seemed interesting. Can it just be tommorow already to see what Nintendo has to offer? I can't deal with the disappointment-fest that Sony still-birthed today.
Xbox One
-Forza Horizon 2
-Crackdown 3
-Phantom Dust
-Halo Collection
-Ori & the Blind Forest
-Project Spark
-Sunset Overdrive
-Fable Legends
-Scalebound
Playstation 4
-The Order
-Little Big Planet 3
-Bloodborne (Project Beast)
-Uncharte 4
-Magicka 2
-Grim Fandango (timed exclusive)
-The Last of Us Remaster
-Let it Die (Suda 51)
Those are from today. But also there is Halo 5, Quantum Break and Gears of War for MS. And Lilly Bergamo, Deep Down, DriveClub and Rime for Sony.
Overall, I prefer MS line-up. But Sony line-up is not bad at all, and tbh, my most wanted title will be on PS4 (Uncharted 4).
Ps.: Is "No Man's Sky" exclusive for PS4? Or will it be released on Xone / PC too?
Lot's of great stuff from both sides. Don't see why we need to get into petty arguments about which is better though, both companies did solid this year.
Hell, I don't even take advantage of all the PS exclusive stuff even though I buy my games on PS4. Like those extra 60 minutes of Watchdogs or whatever AC gave out last year.
What's the PS gift for attending the theater E3 show? The code on back of my lanyard? It has a picture of the ORder, so I'm guessing it's a beta access?
It was pretty evident here that third parties are hitching their wagon to the ps4 as the market leader for this generation the same way they did with the Xbox 360 last gen and the ps2 before that.
I think they had a great show but that entertainment stuff was awful for about 10 minutes there.
New account, was just approved a few days ago. Last account was perma-banned a long time ago with no explanation (but I assume it was because I stupidly made a personal dig at someone).
Voicing my opinion apparently makes me a shill or a troll. Isn't this a forum for gaming fans to state their opinions and have open discussions?
well done sir. Always funny to read these. Can always tell you're reading bs when they throw in the "i own both, im super stoked for <insert exclusive to make me seem legitimate>"
On topic.... I think microsoft and sony kinda tied. Both had great games to show, sony tripped up a bit in the middle w/ the dumb TV stuff that nobody cares about, but they got back on track and ended better than expected. Microsoft was solid throughout. But lets be real guys.. Ubisoft won the day.
You can tell you're reading BS? Because that "reading BS" meter must be broken then. Why can I not voice my opinion without being told I am a shill of some sort? I do in fact own a PS4, XBO and a WiiU. I do in fact love me some Little Big Planet. And, I did think MS had a better E3 showing this year.

Listen, xbox fans will say ms had the better conference, Sony fans will say Sony had the better conference.
Truth be told, Sony had a bunch of megatons while microsofts conference was leaked and did not have the same impact.
Sony had a fantastic e3. Absolutely killed it. MS did well also. Impartial media seems to give the win to Sony. But it doesn't matter. E3 was about games, and that's awesome. Let's all agree EA sucked.
Would be much better if everyone just admit that with regards to their preferences, which exclusive lists was better. That said, I kinda wanna see the number of real exclusives for Xbox and PS platforms.

Definitely one of the best Sony conferences ive seen since the launch of PS3.
Nice to see PlayStation TV coming to north america. Very much on board with that. Really interested to see how they go about pricing playstion now.
Only thing that really left an impression on me was No Man's Sky. Might have been last years conference I saw it last. Either way forgot about it completely and that was an awesome reintroduction. Very stoked.
Some great looking indie titles all around.
Unfortunately, non of this made me want to rush out and buy a PS4.
If a team of Carnegie Melon graduates wants to charge $9.99 for a game I think it's fair that we judge it just as harshly as any other game priced at that level.
Lot's of great stuff from both sides. Don't see why we need to get into petty arguments about which is better though, both companies did solid this year.
Both companies did badly in my opinion. Only game that seems remotely exciting on the xbox side is Sunset Overdrive while only games exciting on the PS side seem to be uncharted 4 and Bloodborne. Pretty mediocre showing by both companies.
I'm here to post my useless comment about the fact that Sony had a really good show.
Now, please, behave like a grown up person and don't waste your time trying to figure out who had a better show. Those kind of things are pretty childish.
Both companies did a great job with their conferences, but the only one that left me thinking their Gamescom could be equally good or better is Sony's.
We all know E3 has held a far greater importance to MS than Gamescom going by their historical showings, and if this is what their E3 was, I'm skeptical they'll have a great Gamescom. OTOH, Sony's Gamescom is usually on-par with their E3.
After all the hype-deflation of many Sony studios saying they're not going to be at E3, but they still had a great show regardless, that makes me more excited for when they do appear.
MS/Spencer overhyped it. In the end, it was a "Halo show" and an average presser.

Not only that, but the ammount of exclusive content they have on 3rd parties is mindblowing. MS went for timed exclusive dlc content. Sony went for exclusive features, game modes, etc, for several games. The Far Cry 4 announcement was godlike. You can play co-op with anyone on your friend list and they don't have to own the game?
Unbelievably stupid move by Ubisoft, but an amazing feature.
Yeah, I'd love to hear more about this Tech. Seems too OP, I'm playing a game, friend is interested, clicks on my name, they see an option to join in progress as a demo or w/e, the server pushes the level to the second player and heli-co-opter action begins(plus elephants!). Would love this in more games. Also, is this a PSN exclusive feature? First I've heard of this type of tech in consoles.(Starcraft2 is actually the only other game I can think of a similar mechanism, there may be more.)
Was 3+ years ago man. I'm just being honest and trying to prove to this guy that I am not a shill and that I am trying to have a legitimate discussion.
I watched the conference off and on and saw a bunch of good stuff. However, did they mention anything about ps1 and 2 games on the ps4? Also, anything about minecraft?
So, 2 ports (Grim Fandango & GTA V) and some DLC (First Light) is all I got excited about. I wouldn't have minded some more information about Playstation Now, but I guess anyone outside of the US and Canada have quite a wait ahead.
Not the most exciting of conferences, 6/10.
(PS, I liked the Mike Oldfield track during the MGS trailer)
I honestly have no clue what you're talking about. I agree that Sony's Conference was better than Microsoft's. I cannot agree that EA's conference was better than Microsoft's. Microsoft's had decent games and great pacing. EA had concept art and shit pacing. Neither conference made me want to buy any games, but I could actually watch Microsoft's conference whereas I spent more time refreshing Neogaf than I did watching EA's conference.
I think I said they were both a C-. Microsoft showed me a bunch of crap that I had no interest in seeing at all (opening with Call of Duty, barf) and a couple games that I'm going to buy for my PS4. EA showed a couple games that I'm going to buy for my PS4 and did some obnoxious cockteasing. They were about the same for me.
That's my personal viewpoint on it. You have your own take away from it. It's not a big deal and I'm not trying to convince you of anything or change your mind - I'm just presenting what I took away from the events. It's okay to see things differently you know!
I'm here to post my useless comment about the fact that Sony had a really good show.

I would give the same score to Sony and MS for their conferences. A good solid B. Sony wins for me though because their exclusives are far more interesting than Microsoft's. The Order, Bloodborn, Uncharted, and TLOU look more fun than anything MS showed.
Plus I got to watch Sonys with a bunch of other nerds at a theater. I was actually pleasently surprised with the average age of the crowd. I thought for sure it was going to be a bunch of highschool kids but most everyone seemed nearee to my age (30). Had some laughs and met some cool people.
Destiny: We've seen this before, so this isn't how you should open the conference. :/ Looks good though.
White PS4: Hawt.
The Order 1886: Cutscene: The Game. As a QTE cinematic experience, I think it could be really cool. As a game? The jury is still out. The visuals are really impressive though.
Entwined: Beautiful and unique. Can't wait to read some impressions since it's already out.
inFamous First Light: Love the logo and I like inFamous, so...cool.
Far Cry 4: Can play multiplayer even if you don't own the game, if first invited by a friend? That...is crazy. I don't have any interest in the game, but that is a really cool feature.
Indies: Some looked cool, some looked meh. Indies are cool, but I don't think any of these were exclusive, so that dampens my excitement a bit.
Grim Fandango: I never got to play the original, so I'm really looking forward to being able to finally play it.
ABZU: Scuba diving game from Journey's art director? YES PLEASE
No Man's Sky: Incredible. Game of the show.
YouTube on PS4: woo
Free To Play: yay
PlayStation Now: hurrah
Mortal Kombat X: Not my thing.
Powers: Okay. Here's the thing. We already knew that 'Powers' had been picked up to series to air exclusively on PlayStation. We knew all of that shit already. So, if you're going to dedicate a segment of your press conference to this, why not give us something new? Some new detail - casting info or something like that? They literally just regurgitated information we already knew. If it's coming in December, then surely they have more than a single piece of concept art to show us?
Ratchet and Clank The Movie: I like Ratchet and Clank a lot but this just screams "uninspired bore fest".
Ratchet and Clank Remake: So it's a remake of the original game but with an entirely different storyline, gameplay mechanics, and visuals. Why not just make an brand new game if that's the case? Very odd direction to go in, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless.
Last of Us Remastered: I already played this on PS3 so I don't care.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Yuss give it to me Kojima!
Grand Theft Auto 5 Remastered: Can't stand GTA, so whatever.
Batman Arkham Knight: This looked very impressive, visually. Gameplay wise it didn't look a whole lot different than the previous games, but I guess that's to be expected. I skipped Origins, but I definitely want to check this out. I do hope Rocksteady moves on to a new/different franchise after this though. I'm kind of sick of Batman.
Uncharted 4: CGI "in engine" cutscene/teaser. Eh.
if it looks like that in game then holy fuckballz
Despite some length and pacing issues, and an overzealous audience, I thought it was the best conference of the show.
Company I Like (A):
- Praise Games I want
- Praise features I won't get but are exclusive.
- Praise the indie support
- Great Multiplats
Company I Don't Like (B):
- Downplay Games I don't want
- Downplay features I wouldn't get but are exclusive.
- Too many indies
- Only multiplats. Where are the exclusives?
Therefore, henceforth, objectively, conclusively without a shadow of a doubt, Company A won hands down.
Both companies did badly in my opinion. Only game that seems remotely exciting on the xbox side is Sunset Overdrive while only games exciting on the PS side seem to be uncharted 4 and Bloodborne. Pretty mediocre showing by both companies.
Really? Wow! Ok. Opinions.
But for me theyre both strong line-up's. And I actually will be looking forward for those:
Forza Horizon 2, Crackdown 3, Phantom Dust, Halo Collection, Ori & the Blind Forestm, Sunset Overdrive, Scalebound, The Order, Bloodborne, Uncharte 4 and The Last of Us Remastered. Aswell as Quantum Break, Deep Down, Halo 5 and Rime.
Lots of exclusive games of my interest on both platforms I guess. And between all the multiplatform games, I guess Destiny and The Division are the two Im looking forward the most.
Why are you talking exclusives only? There's these things called 3rd party games. They're really good you should try them.
Songs conference was the best. I think most agree with that.
If you liked some games at MS conference then that's fine but that doesn't make their conference better. Sony had more AAA games. More stage demos. More announcements. More games with exclusive content...etc. Sony killed it and they even got partnered up with EA for. BF:H. EA. the same EA who pledged allegiance to Microsoft last year.
Try to get over your personal bias. Look at these presentations as a whole. Who has the most support? Who is partnered up with the biggest upcoming games? Who has the most impressive exclusives? Even if a game is not my type I can easily see how big an announcement is. No Mans Sky looks amazing. A lot of those indies look really fun. But at the end of the day I'm more of a AAA gamer and Sony more than delivered for me today.
Let's be honest. The XB1 exclusives are nothing special. The Halo collection will probably outsell all those other Microsoft exclusives combined this year.
Sony's Conference went off to a fantastic start, but was bogged down when Shawn Lynden came on. Not because he was a bad presenter, but the subject matter was pace killing. I am certainly interested in buying a PS4, but there was no megatons that was of earthshattering proportions (Maybe Grim Fandango for the nostalgia factor)
Both Microsoft and Sony had Solid press conferences, in my opinion, none of them really "Won" but that is just my opinion.
The interesting thing will be to see the how the consoles will sell from here on out, overall though rather solid but forgettable press conferences this year.
Anyone with an ounce of subjectivity would not claim one company destroyed the other company this E3. It was a complete stalemate, in terms of # of games shown and # of exclusives shown. Ultimately it all comes down to which games you prefer, but that is hardly "destroying" the competition.
