Strange that all his major issues tended to be centered around Square-Enix games.

Actually Derrick loathes Ubisoft as well, he has ranted many times against them and their reluctance to change their open-world formula (especially collectibles), to the point where I suggested he hang out with Yves Guillemont sometime lol.
He hates his perceived dumbing-down of games, that's his major issue. He had some valid points like the lack of a skill/lockpicking system in Human Revolution being a major misstep for Deus Ex, and the fact that Absolution was an ok stealth game, but not Hitman (and now IO have responded to fans with their new Hitman game).
He could get damn annoying, no doubt, but he actually liked some interesting games. He was a big fan of Harvest Moon A New Beginning because of all the complexity, and was gonna try Rune Factory 4.

Derrick had the occasional good point about the AAA dumbing down and madness but holy shit nothing ever, ever satisfied him. You tried to point him towards indies and he would blanket-statement hate on each and every single one of them using claims that made little to no sense. It got old trying to reason anything out of him. Toxic as all hell.

I never met Gaborn, but RIP. Glad he at least lived longer than what doctors told him. I remember on IGN, some well knownposter I knew passed away suddenly due to being run over by a drunk driver. We would've never known had it not been for his brother who sometimes posted on IGN. I think there should be a Wall of IGN posters topic that have left us and we'll rememer them for future and stuff

I was just looking through the Tomb Raider OT because I wanted to find a quote from him. It's kind hilarious. He trolls the shit out of the game for the entire week leading up to the release date, telling everyone what a disaster it's going to be. But still he buys the game on Day One, and (unsurprisingly) hates it.
As I recall he got it on a preorder deal for like $40 somewhere, but yeah he still bought it on Day 1 lol. He just needed to be able to stay away from those threads and games, but couldn't do it.
I kinda agreed with him too, but he shit on everything, not just AAA games.
It was posted on the last page what happened to Dragona and Red Scarlet. Long story short: they abused their mod powers in some very disgusting ways.

Red Scarlet didn't do anything disgusting. I'm pretty sure she left under her own accord. I remember she came back for like a week then peaced out.
Dragona was never as bad as some people say, she was pretty cool most of the time TBH. Shame about the account sharing, though.

Himuro, while possibly having a valid criticism, was acting like a prick toward a poster who liked to post images of her breasts in threads.
Yaoi thread. Bit slow on the burn but just as funny. Gets going about page 7-8. Another doom bringer.
Himuro went out in the most sexist way possible by bringing stuff that happens in Tinychat into normal yhreads.
I meant to say she didn't do anything that could reasonably be described as abusing her powers in disgusting ways. I can see why she lost her powers, but that's kind of an extreme way to describe giving away info about a forum user's ban. She was a good poster that made a dumb mistake.

That is an affront to privacy and can qualify as "disgusting" in my opinion. There are no gray areas in a breach of trust.
