Metal Gear Solid was ALWAYS about silly! This is what makes the series.

No, silly is not what makes the series. It was always a part of MGS, but PP has obviously a more serious tone than all the other games before it. It looks weird and cartoony when Big Boss is fultoning soldiers back to mother base.

You can... choose to not play it with the silly (translation :awesome) mechanics.

That's not really an option since most mechanics seem to be integral to the experience.

Well that's the most impressive game I've seen thus far, everything looks stellar and the gameplay is so robust and varied it's ridiculous.

The Mother Base aspect was underwhelming, but to be fair we didn't see any of the customization options.

Afghanistan looks just as good as I expected but I am so turning off the reflex mode, enemy markers, and whatnot.

Looks good, but man that GPS voice is annoying, I hope you can turn that off.
That Mother Base really reminds me of the Suikoden games, pretty cool stuff.

Yeah that demonstration was really good. It has all the elements I loved about Peace Walker, while moving forward to a more seamless and detailed world capable on consoles, with deeper gameplay and options. Being able to move around and see the various parts of Mother Base feels like the sort of thing Kojima always intended for Peace Walker but couldn't fit it in because it was on a portable device. Mmmmm.

Looks good, but I want to disable most of that stuff so I can play an actual hardcore open world stealth game.

Airlifting everything not only looks corny (which I'm mostly OK with), but it also seems like super easy mode, as it literally removes dangerous elements from the map. I hope the idea really isn't to fulton everything or run the risk having a weak home base.

But the flesh and bones of the game looks incredible, as expected. I just hope I can tune it like Ground Zeroes, for maximum stealth tension.

I wanted to build outer heaven , not another oilrig.

I also dislike the Fulton being op and able to grab objects that should not be movable by an air baloon, plus the sound associated with it kinda break the serious, dark mood this game is going for. I also did not like the sound when grabbing the diamonds and the way the cardboard box dissolves when unequipped. Looked unnatural.

Basically, I "Riked it", but I think Ground Zeroes omissions were mostly for the best, as it helped the game feel more geniune and less corny.

Looked great. So many ways to control the character. I especially loved the mother base portion. Really awesome how you can explore the whole thing by foot. I guess I also kind of miss the old hi-tech facilities and warehouses so this kind of did it for me.

That was fucking brilliant. Tons of little details that make this into what seems like a great game.

This has sold me on it without a doubt, might even pickup Ground Zeroes for a play around!
