I don't enjoy the witcher one bit. It is a scripted power fantasy action narrative game in the modern console tradition with little true 'role' playing.
I like that a "tactical camera mode" is something Larian just slips into a patch at some point, while Bioware has advertised it in DA3 for years.
You should really put some links to the music samples in the OT as well.
Also maybe quotes from people who played the EA version. Like this:
.Tons of stuff I will never use!
And a cloth map, which makes it all worth it.

One question though: Is the learning curve for this game steep for new comers?
Not at all. You can adjust the difficulty level of the world, and the game offers good stock classes (the game is classless so you can manually make any combination); so you don't have to worry about what every skill and talent from the beginning. There is also a in-game tutorial that will help guide you in understanding the mechanics of the game as you play. And when you level up, the game has contextual text that explains every stat, ability, or talent and how important for your class and/or what it will do. Additionally you can upgrade at anytime after a level up so you can tackle each aspect when you feel ready to make a choice.
(The above blurb makes the whole process seem more intimidating that it really is, everything is given to you in a piecemeal fashion.)
Watching the livestream from yesterday (skipping around the parts where Swen shows off higher-level areas/encounters), just so I could get a look at the Level Editor... oh man. Oh boy oh boyohboy. Oh my. That's some high-level, weapons-grade shit.
Do you have a link to this stream? I can't seem to find it.
I'm using a Knight and an Enchantress in the early access and that's been really fun so far. Teleport (Enchanter spell that allows you to pick up an object or enemy and drop them somewhere else for good damage) is useful and fun and Enchanters also start with Slow and Chill which are great debuffs, especially when stacked.
I'm wanting to RP my team as a couple who are basically good and honorable and somehow the witch teaming up with the Knight didn't seem to fit.
Is there an in-game tutorial/guide already? I thought I looked and couldn't find it but maybe I just missed it.

Yeah, the editor is extremely impressive.Watching the livestream from yesterday (skipping around the parts where Swen shows off higher-level areas/encounters), just so I could get a look at the Level Editor... oh man. Oh boy oh boyohboy. Oh my. That's some high-level, weapons-grade shit.
Hopefully sales today offset them launching on the 30th and people being broke/fatigued of buying stuff. Assuming the date doesn't get pushed back again of course.Divinity: Original Sin is 20% off right now.

You did the right thing.I just bought it yesterday though. Dammit, I even broke my "never buy a PC game for full price" rule for this one.
With the CE and the two-pack, do you get two copies of the DLC as well?
Pure turn-based.So is this purely turn based or is it more akin to Baldur's Gate or NWN?

It's turn based, but probably unlike most turn based games you've played, since it has completely free positioning. It's a bit like ToEE.So is this purely turn based or is it more akin to Baldur's Gate or NWN?
Hmm.. may give it a chance. Looks cool enough![]()
Absolutely. You can either control the other character's responses or have them adopt their own personality.I see that it has multiplayer but I wouldn't be playing with anyone else, still a good buy if playing single player only?

Yes, though it's not extensive. You can change things like skin color and hair, and you can have a party of two female or two male if you don't want the default male and female. Very basic customization as far as appearance. Is there any sort of character appearance customization?
It's designed to be a great single-player, party based RPG, and then they added co-op support on top of that.I see that it has multiplayer but I wouldn't be playing with anyone else, still a good buy if playing single player only?
