man, hayter was pretty terrible in MGS3 too. sounding cartoony as fuck. surrrreeeeee
Fox engine = best engine. This game is looking amazing.
I read the absolutely bats hit insane OP MGS4 had. What are the odds this will get similar treatment? SO hype.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nolq5EPpOcAYou've seen how gullible he is.
I assumed this was the case as well. Peace Walker felt like a good middle ground between MGS3 and V for sure.Wasn't that the point? To start out as a green, naive soldier who gets his heart ripped out by the end of the mission and gets put on a path to become a villain? Naked Snake is not supposed to be the hardened badass that Solid Snake is in MGS1. I always thought it was Kojima's intention for him to be a bit goofy in order to create a more drastic character arc for Big Boss.
Don't forget the best Boss convo. And The Boss asks Snake to "try to remember the basics of CQC" in a tutorial cutscene in MGS3.
lol Snake was also just joking around.Well, I don't know how things are done where you're from, but around here that's just good manners.
It certainly convinced me...Were you the one who put together a rather convincing theory for Big Boss being autistic based on his interactions with others in MGS3?
Big Boss's silence is actually less jarring to me than Ocelot having to explain concepts like "don't run into an enemy base without planning or you might get killed," "use binoculars to see things far away," and "This is an open world video game so you can go different places whenever you want, uh, I mean, how and where you make it is up to you."
Maybe they assumed that Big Boss suffered brain damage when he got that horn in his head.

What was it that was so funny back then, Huey?
I wonder how they capture Huey. It's weird to think Otacon has already been born during this scene.
It's not like he can run away or anything.

Oh, I know. I just mean like, I wonder where he was before they captured him and took him back to Motherbase? Do Diamond Dogs literally barge through his house and capture him whilst he's living his family life or is he working on a base with Cipher somewhere when we find him?
Huey is probably still at Mother Base and he has no clue it was him inviting the inspection that lead to the destruction of MSF until Snake resurrects from his coma and rescues Miller, who then goes on full-on interrogation mode [with the help of Ocelot].
Me, too! Otacon would be four at this point, yeah? Freaky. My guess is that the scene of Huey "celebrating" (pictured below) actually takes place before his torture. I think that he is still working at Mother Base, but is unaware that Kaz suspects him in any sort of betrayal; he's probably working on that smaller, mobile Metal Gear unit seen at the end of the Red Band trailer and celebrates his accomplishment. Next thing you know, Snake, Kaz, and Ocelot (THE BIG THREE) are back at Mother Base and want answers. (Or something along those lines, anyway.)

Wait.
Isn't Mother Base destroyed?
Wait.
Isn't Mother Base destroyed?
Holy shit, I can't believe I've forgotten about that conversation.
Big Boss has aspergers.
Dudes I'm going to be so bummed when that scene comes, Huey doesn't deserve to take that kind of torture.
Also, Peace Walker question that is a spoiler:
Why does Big Boss believe The Boss is a traitor in Peace Walker? Throughout the game he acts as if he never found out that she was actually completing her mission due to Volgin screwing up the US's plans by firing that nuke. He keeps wanting to talk to that AI of The Boss hoping he can find out why she decided to betray him and her country. Is there a reason for this or is it just a big fuck up?
I'm not sure if you mean throughout PW or at the end. Strangelove was the one looking for confirmation (which she had already made up her mind about) on whether or not The Boss was actually a traitor. All Snake had to go on was EVA's relation (who admitted to being a double agent at the time) of The Boss's true intention and his own experiences throughout operation Snake Eater. Given that, it's not too unreasonable for a little self-doubt regarding the entire situation---though he probably had already internalized what she (i.e. EVA) left him as more or less the truth; the extensive tapes of The Boss's life in Peace Walker help solidify it for him too. Most of post-Snake Eater missions is Big Boss sort of childishly/grievingly asking "why" in roundabout ways when he in-fact already knew the answer to everything concerning The Boss's last mission. At the end of Peace Walker he seems to finally have accepted her choice and then viewed that as a personal act of betrayal to him, as she taught him to live, breathe, and think as a soldier---then proceeded to relinquish all ties to that in the name of "Peace" which is the game's overarching theme, one that Big Boss actively rejects at its conclusion.
cue The Phantom Pain---demon demon demon.
That makes sense, but I see how you have to kind of piece it together since it isn't explicitly stated. Still, parts of Peace Walker seemed rather strange as far as that goes. I thought maybe he was trying to maintain the US' government's story because it was a necessity to maintain peace between Russia and the US, but his reaction to first seeing The Boss AI thing made it appear like he either never heard EVA's tape or just didn't believe it. But not believing it would seem strange considering the ending of MGS3. Him having no honor from being congratulated by the president and leaving a tribute on her grave would make sense if he believed EVA's tape. I don't know, I guess that part just seemed to be handled in a very strange way.
I know some of you were concerned about the fulton system. While I am not worried about it, I made a fun little video that I think captured the reason some people are.
http://youtu.be/yoJu5qmSI6w
I feel like the fulton should attract more attention than near just about everything else that snake does.
That's my main concern. How could you not realize a giant balloon being picked up by an enemy plain flying over. Hell you can even hear it all happening.
Yeah it's ridiculous, using it should set the entire base in search mode or something...
Call in for reinforcements etc.
Fuck that, he went behind everyone's back and invited the UN to a nuclear inspection.
He fucked up and got everyone killed.
It should make a noise with the same radius as an unsilenced gunshot, at the very least. As it is now it seems you can fulton right behind someone and they wouldn't notice.

It was a lot of circling around and pussyfooting.
On the topic of PW . . .
I actually didn't like PW's story. Everything revolving The Boss felt like another episode of "Kojima can't leave shit alone."
I felt that at the end of MGS3 Big Boss had already established a plan in his mind. His understanding that countries were playing a dangerous game, made him want to establish a way to work outside the system, but still interact with all the current players. We knew that The Boss died for something greater than herself, but it wasn't something that Big Boss agreed with.
Then Kijima had to Kojima the hell out of it.![]()
Not enough... it literally has an "enemy chopper" flying over the area.
If you see a balloon zooming up and an enemy chopper flying over the place you're guarding, you'd call for back up right away!

How the flying fk can PS360 handle this gameplay scale? PS3 only has 256MB RAM!
