It was a joke, MGS3 is probably my favorite game in the series. Sorry if that wasn't clear :)

Jocchan's statement was misleading; Big Boss was already a complete moron in MGS3.
Heh, that's what I meant. It was one of the more amusing parts of the game.
 
I hope they get rid of the screaming and the "Yippee!" when you fulton someone. In a game all about stealth it's kinda dumb that people screaming at the top of their lungs while being launched into the air doesn't catch anyone's attention. I know Metal Gear is silly, but that's just dumb, especially since Kojima wants this game to be more serious.
 
I love the yipee. I don't want any of the Metal Gear humor lost just because Kojima wants to try and fail at going for a serious tone.
 
some of it can get lost. like the random cutscene in MGS4 that had Johnny Sasaki taking a dump underneath an oil barrel.

That scene (and a lot of scenes in MGS4) could have been funny if they were edited well. Faster, tighter, etc. Naturally, Kojima's solution for that in MGSV was to remove editing entirely in favor of completely uninteruppted shots.

I want to play a version of MGS4 that edits the shit out of the cutscenes and makes certain cutscenes playable instead of forcing us to sit through something awesomely badass.

I did not play MGS4 today. Tomorrow.

there is that one funny scene in GZ with a lot of cuts and stuff where you find the XOF patch on Boss' back.
 
Ew, they still haven't fixed the horrible draw distance/LOD pop-in from Ground Zeroes. I'm really starting to lose hope that it will be fixed for the final version. :/
Come on Kojipro, get a real LOD system in place, at least for the Quadbone versions.
We can hope they'll fix it, but I wouldn't bet on it :(

I agree. In fact, I was slightly disappointed when I heard that fulton and mother base are back. I found the motherbase management and the fulton system a snoozefest in peace walker. Base management and working my way trough endless menus is the least I want in a MGS.

Your first error is assuming base management will be the same as it was in Peace Walker.
 
Can't wait to see a forest in the Fox Engine, it'll look great... now if they can just fix the pop-in...

Considering we don't even have a release window from KojiPro, I wouldn't expect it for a good long time.

Kojima has said many times that he finds delays distasteful and humiliating, so this time I don't think they're going to announce a release date until they know that they know for sure that they can make the date, probably no more than 3-5 months before release. Still, we already know that Konami's current fiscal year (ending in March 2015) was the projected release window last year. I also definitely don't think it's a coincidence that the first day of this year's Tokyo Game Show is 9/18/2014. (COMING 1984!) I'd be surprised if we don't get a release date there.

And I don't understand the complaints. It's often been complained that 'open-world games' are nothing but a farce when it comes to the in-game moment-to-moment gameplay, because ultimately, even games like GTA and Watch_Dogs put you through a linear experience with limited ways of approaching the story missions. The openness only exist when you're out of the story, and within the story, it's as linear as ever.

MGSV ( by GZ ) is arguably one of the few games that actually give the player an insane amount of freedom, control and broad gameplay mechanics to approach your missions how you see fit. Your ability as the 'boss of a goddamn team of elite soldiers' is reflected within your control of the player even on the field, with the ability to summon helis and strikes. The level design is legitimately honest when they said "we didn't built waist high crates in this area" to suddenly populate the area with enemies.

For those who say 'hurrr not realistic', the breadth of gameplay options allow you to play without using the Fulton, or at least... roleplay into a gameplay experience where Fulton is realistically more restrictive.

To me, when I'm in story missions, I'm going to roleplay the hell out of the game by driving jeeps and tanks into areas without enemies before Fultoning them. But when I'm grinding non-story missions for cash and soldiers/equipment to steal, hell no I'm going to be confined by that.

I suspected all the humorous stuff being clearly amped up was because of the dark storyline. Turns out I was right as Kojima himself said as much in some interview, and wants to keep a balance in the mood.
 
While I think it's plausible that they turn the diamonds into knives and that Kaz is referring to them, I'd like to note that in a lot of Japanese media blades tend to gleam.

I'm guessing Quiet might be the one blamed for the death of the "elite squad" and Miller's capture. I doubt it's about them looking for the traitor of MB.

Why is a Russian soldier trying to drown her? It's the Russians that have him. So they try to kill her out of gratitude for Miller's capture?

I think XOF forces grab Huey when they attack Mother Base and he continues development on Zeke for the 9 years Big Boss is in a coma which might account for differences. Also could explain why they're water boarding Huey and giving him truth serum because maybe Big Boss grabs him back in Africa. Might be one of the missions there. Huey would have been working for Skull Face.
 
with the emphasis on knives in the recent trailer, and to continue the tradition of MGS final bosses being mano a mano showdowns, i hope phantom pain ends with an insanely bloody knife fight.

I wonder will there be unique special soldiers and stuff to futon so you can get new gear,

for example you need futon a specialist on "Material" a "Farmer" and "3 sheep" to get special Camo

Man my Motherbase is gonna be full off Sheep and Clamors, i dare you to invade hahahaha

Nope. It costs money. You can only do it if you have the money and that money can also being tied up in Mother Base. (In the demo they had like 90000 GMP).
