so if Portugal wins, the US advances regardless?

Depends on how big Portugal wins, and how big the US will lose.

Goal difference between the teams is 5 in favor of US I think. So if Portugal wins with 3-0, the US has to lose with 2-0. Which means they have the same goal difference but Portugal would've scored more in this case.

ESPN showing the scenarios for USA to advance:

Scenario 1: Win/draw vs. Germany on Thursday
Scenario 2: Loss to Germany + Ghana-Portugal draw
Scenario 3: Lost to Germany + U.S. holds tiebreaker over Ghana-Portugal winner

I'm n00b and have no idea what scenario #3 means, lol

Stop moping around, and be blessed by the Nazi Colombian Marijuana Pontifex Maximus.

lol

this is not in the WC. there are many old season shirts and FIFA would not have allowed DAT

junior crest is a local team (my team) and this picture is a disgrace but almost funny. dark humor I guess

I was half joking and even within that joke I did not indicate that I thought it represented a country. But since you said screw you, I now do really want you out.

Sorry for not catching the sarcasm, man. Seriously. I'm rather sensible towards people always associating drugs to Colombia.

I am being hard on Bradley, but to be fair, I will say there wasn't a whole lot he could've done at the end there; he was surrounded by 4 Portuguese and they were closing in. It wasn't an easy situation considering the ball had simply landed on his foot.

As a Toronto FC fan, it really sucks to see Bradley struggle at the world stage. I feel like it's either that he's being used out of position or he still hasn't recovered from his injury since he came back pretty quickly and then left for the U.S. camp.

nah mate

acting like your country would be a powerhouse if they gave a shit

pls

You are severely underestimating the athletic talent the U.S. has. If soccer were the number 1 sport in the U.S there is no question in my mind they would be able to field a legitimate world cup contending team. The popularity of the sport is slowly increasing, but they have to find a way to steal some of the talent that is going into the other major sports.

like how many goals?

Goal difference is a total of 5:

USA +1
PT - 4

e.g. if USA loses to Germany by 2, USA'a goal difference would become -1

if PT manage to win by 3, PT's goal difference would become -1

Even. I don't know how it would be decided when even, but that is just an example.

It's exactly BECAUSE he was surrounded by Portuguese that he simply should have bombed it to the other side of the field.

I think both Germany and the US should park the bus. Each team's starting XI stay in their own half and pass it back to each other for 90 minutes.

That's the reason why soccer is not popular in the US. Sure, this happens, but I can't see any fans outside the US wanting this. "Parking the bus" saved US in the first game but fucked them in the second one.

Where did I do that? You are just making shit up now or thinking of someone else.

Dude, I just read your post quickly and posted quicker. Don't need to become offensive. I am sorry, again, if it helps.

For our confused American friends:

USA goes through if they tie or win (lolz) against Germany.

They're out if they
- lose 1:0 (or 2:1 or 3:2 etc) and Ghana wins at least 2:0 (or 3:1 etc)
- lose 2:0 (or 3:1 etc) and Ghana wins at least 1:0 (or 2:1 etc)

If Portugal wins, it's likely the US will still go though unless Germany steamrolls you, and Portugal given Ghana a good beating as well.
