Do you really think Kojima would let his team handle a Solid Snake (his baby!) story after they fucked up with Rising?

I think Kojima will finish his story with his Snakes and after that IF he moves on from the Metal Gear series his team works on a The Boss game in WW2 or something.

Everyone knows Kojima has a hard on for Big Boss. Just look at Old Snake.

Did Kojima not like Rising?

I thought it was fantastic, not story, but damn the game was a lot of fun to play. Plus the soundtrack was ace.

Solid should get his own Ninja game.

He liked Platinum's Rising not KojiPro's (before Platinum stepped in and teamed up). KojiPro was struggling to get the game produced.

kojipro confirmed for not reading torashiro's reports

The way this all came off to me is that Kojima was oblivious to Hayter's popularity as Snake and thought most western fans would embrace a hollywood star taking over. Now that it's come to this he's sticking to his guns and doing his best to ignore all the people flaming him on twitter about firing Hayter or asking for Hayter to come back, so I'm not sure he's even considered the possibility that he could bring Hayter back as Solid Snake and keep Kiefer as Big Boss let alone had it up his sleeve all along. If he has considered it, he probably doesn't even want to now out of spite... especially after Hayter's twitter tirade.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love this... it would be a great surprise. But the way this has all played out makes me think that if a scene does happen between Big Boss and a young adult Solid Snake, it'll either be Kiefer playing both (like I assume Akio Otsuka will) or they'll hire someone completely new. And that's gonna suck so hard.

If it's all been some prank from the beginning then I applaud Kojima and Hayter for pulling it off so well, but i'm very skeptical based on what i've seen. I'm sure Solid Snake will be in it in some form but I'm scared it won't be Hayter.
That's my biggest concern. I can imagine the meltdowns that will occur if anyone else does the voice-over for Solid Snake.

Well we've already got Troy Baker, there's only one other man for the job: Nolan North. :P

I really, really doubt, after the backlash over Kiefer, Kojima would choose anyone other than Hayter.

Baker as Snake? ...............................................................interesting.

I'd sacrifice a MG1 remake (if that's what you're referring to) to the videogame gods to get Kojima on a new IP. There are so many settings, characters, and themes that could use his maniacally detailed approach.

So I hope he hands it off, and I dun curr what happens to it.

Plenty of room for a brand new Solid Snake adventure that isn't a MG1 remake.

But i agree, as much as i love the MGS series a new IP from this mastermind would be VERY interesting.

Imagine Zone of Enders 3 next-gen...omgrzzzzzzz Kojima pls

Sutherland is without a doubt better. The problem is that I hear too much Jack Bauer in the voice, though that is quickly diminishing as I warm up to it.

Hayter is classic Solid Snake though, and it would be a shame to replace that.
I'm so glad I dont and never will watch 24.....kinda makes it easier to accept Kiefer as BB...but will still miss Hayter cause of his work in MGS1 and 2, was ok in 3, but pretty bad in 4

That concept art they've shown looked sooo good!! Too bad the game got cancelled because the HD collection sold like shit.

*fingers crossed* they get back to it in the future.

Hayter was so bad in MGS4 and PW. Especially in Peace Walker, it's like nobody told him he shouldn't use his Old Snake voice. So terrible.

He was the best when he voiced young Solid Snake and this is why i hope he returns.

I thought Hayter was fine, if not a bit rusty in Peace Walker. Liked him a lot in MGS3 and fit well with the vibe of the rest of the characters.

But when it comes to the superior Sutherland, he owns Big Boss. I also have never seen an episode of 24, so I have no basis for what his voice sounds like beyond his voicework in COD: World at War.

i love 24, and have no problem with him sounding similar as BB. you can draw a lot of comparisons between the characters. plus it was amazing hearing the classic "DAMNIT!" and "don't fight it" clearly whomever is localizing threw those in as easter eggs for 24 fans

Yep, it was great hearing those.

According to this, it's in:
I see
Clouds wheel through the sky casting dynamic shadows, coming together and parting in unrepeated patterns with the passing of time.

Maybe "Atmospheric" wasn't the correct term to use. I meant the realistic skyboxes, the ones that have varying levels of contrast and very little clouds at certain times. These:

I captured these two in the special ps4 level that featured them

Just curious if this was dropped because it was resource intensive. The e3 2014 trailer and demo didn't have this special pattern to them.

I hope it wasn't dropped. That cloudless sky is bootiful

im still hoping for this ZOE 2 is one of my favorite games of all time.

Maybe, (hopefully) some days have that atmospheric sky, while others have the cloudy one. Or, maybe some missions will have different types of sky's compared to others.

It did look gorgeous on the Anti Air Gun mission on PS4 though, so I hope it's in Phantom Pain.

It actually looks like a sky. Also it adds definition and contrast to the image. The xb1 version doesn't feature this tech and besides the fact that it was 720p the colors were washed out because it didn't feature the special tech:

I know the game is still in development but i am just curious as to why the sky is different when it was present in last year's gdc presentation and e3 2013 trailer.

Speaking of 24...

In the thread for the most recent season of 24, someone linked to the GAF season 5 thread (season 5 spoilers) with reactions to a specific scene.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3059091#post3059091

Little did they know they had stumbled upon some interesting posts on that page:

Oh damn, Jack did him Big Boss style.

Every fucking 24 fan got played like a fiddle on that one. They have been making it look like it was the VP since he showed up.

Actually he must have changed his mind because in a recent interview he said he'd like to remake them to fix the inconsistencies with Phantom Pain, but this isn't a project they're currently working on or have planned.

As someone who did watch it, Sutherland is beyond the perfect cast for Big Boss. There really was no other choice.

Finally gave in and watched the trailer. This could potentially be the best MGS yet. It has enough atmosphere to top MGS3.
Oh God I'm hoping it's as good or tops MGS3.

I do hope that in the future they just release the entirety of MGSV, with GZ part of the game as normal.

I actually like the subdued grizzled fatigue part of his voice, like he seen a lot of shit (and he has). That Ironside Sam Fisher.

Then again, it's jarring to hear that seriousness alongside wacky stuff like fulton sheep and captain-obvious cardboard boxes.

Yep, unfortunately I think it's just FAR more likely that Kojima simply didn't know/didn't care about Hayter's popularity in the west and thought swapping him for Kiefer would please everyone rather than him and Hayter playing a long con of concealing his role (however minor) in the game.

I mean, everyone caught onto that Joakim/Moby Dick Studios thing almost immediately, so I don't know that Kojima is even capable of keeping a secret for that long. :lol

Everybody may have caught onto to Joakim/Moby Dick Studios, but a decent portion of people sure fooled themselves into believing that an interview for Spike TV was CG.

Snake_911, do you know who was responsible for the godlike music that played is by ludvig forssell? and why isn harry gregson-williams not working on this title? or is he?

He is. His name is in the opening of Ground Zeroes. The reason Ludvig is on is because they decided to stop hiring Norihiko Hibino, the guy behind all the amazing background musics of MGS2 and beyond. Ludvig is great, but I really will miss Norihiko. Here is a link to Hibino's amazing work from MGS2. Enjoy.

It's hard imagining Sutherland delivering on the more humorous parts of Snake's character. Think of all those side-conversations that could be had in MGS3. Can Sutherland's Snake play that role?

Was there really that much backlash about Kiefer? I love the choice, but I wanna see his acting before a final judgment.

Ken, a producer at KP, publicly said he wanted to ask @DJmizuhara a question on twitter and said he private messaged him. That guy works at gamersyde.... I'm sure we'll get a 60fps version of that demo soon!

That's awesome. They could also do what Capcom does and put super high quality 60fps footage on Mega.

Yeah, hearing Sutherland talk about cardboard boxes as enthusiastically as MGS3-PW Big Boss does would be...weird.
I kinda think Big Boss himself won't be a source of humor in this game considering the themes and plot points.

I still can't get my head around how anyone genuinely believed that. Like I've said before, it just goes to show how much of a number Kojima pulled on people with MGS2.

i like norihiko hibino's work quite a lot but i'm glad they're letting some new blood get at the series with ludo. it reflects how kojima productions has become a lot more international since mgs4.

Agreed. Funny how Ludo got in KP with little to no prior work history. At least, I can't find anything he's known for. He did a good job with GZ though, especially that motif "dun, dun dun duuunnnn". I love it! It's my text tone.

Not sure if this was posted yet, but has anyone noticed this?

Top image is from the shorter version of the trailer shown at the Sony E3 conference. The bottom is the extended trailer. Notice the difference in his camouflage and how the guy behind Miller is missing in one of the trailers.

I wonder if certain characters rescued effects if they show up in certain scenes. This certainly leans in favor of us being able to choose our outfits, as they will no doubt bleed into cutscenes as they have in past MGS games.

i think he was a general konami sound guy before being bumped up to kojipro. that said, i don't really know what he's worked on either. possibly one of the smaller silent hill games? i dunno.
