He obviously lost a lot of weight from gz->hospital->waking up 9 years later.

BECAUSE YOU HAVE PLAYED THE GAME AND WE HAVE NOT. And again, NOT MY THEORY (just agreed that his could be a possibility) -- quote the right guy, please.
Something seems just really strange. The hospital scene he is waaay skinnier than in Afghanistan.

Well it isn't like he goes back into battle right after getting out of the hospital. I am sure there is a time-gap of rehabilitation and getting that robot-arm.

I hope Phantom Pain gets rid of the kinda goofy shortness of the alert status in other MGS games. We all know it's very video gamey how guards forget your presence within 3 minutes. Hopefully they use the phantom cigar to fix this. How about now they make it so that if a guard radios in your presence, the base goes under full alert for an hour. A real full hour. But since you have the phantom cigar, you can hide somewhere safe and just blow by this hour. This would make being stealthy more vital since missions will have a time limit. Perhaps guards stay on more hours on alert the more times you are spotted as well.
They better have NOT cut the waterboarding scene or i'll be extremely pissed. Such a fantastic and heart breaking scene. You can see the soldier yells at the prisoner while pouring water all over his face.
I know but others have suggested that GZ might have been a dream or a VR mission and I am getting sick of these theories because they hold no value to them whatsoever.
What? No, I'm not saying Ground Zeroes was a dream. I'm saying, right before Snake wakes from his nine year coma that he dreams these moments, like the one where he's looking out of the chopper, as a sort of flashback.
EDIT: Ah, you were replying to someone else, my mistake.
I think they need to go back to the MGS2 and 3 ways where you can shoot out radios & guards have to radio in the alert. Anyway, the Phantom Cigar cannot be used while under stress (being searched for or on alert).
Yeah, like when Raiden's action scene went from being in the Middle East in one trailer to South America later. The other possibility is that both the waterboarding scene and maybe even Big Boss looking out of the chopper are scenes in The Phantom Pain that were simply reskinned to look like they happened in Ground Zeroes just to pad the trailer.
They've done this a few times before, taking a set animation/scene and playing them out in different scenarios. It's how they pulled off so many of the funny extra videos in MGS3 Subsistence.
Yup that's something that was discussed before. There is definitely a rehabilitation period that occurred after Ocelot rescues Big Boss. How long it took him to get back on his legs? We don't know but it definitely looks like a long period of time passed. Less than a year for sure.
Quoted for a new page, in case others haven't noticed this difference.

My thoughts exactly. Remember the secret theater in MGS2 Substance? I loved changing Vamp's model from his reveal scene to the old short hostage lady from the Shell 1 core.
TPP is still coming out for PS3, right? It's not just ground zeroes?
Have there been any hints of a PC version yet? I still haven't decided if this will be the game to make me buy a PS4 or if i'll just play on my PS3. If it comes to PC that will be the version I get.
I am quoting you for thinking it might be a possibilityNo more Quiet is Chico! No more SAUSAGES! ALL FOR REVENGE!
Well playable segments don't necessarily mean that it has to be a mission. So anything before the Afghanistan mission which is one of the main missions, could be playable.Yeah which is pretty weird because the Afghanistan mission should be the first one as seen in the gameplay video. (skip tutorial)
I'm guessing after the hospital escape we see a huge ass long cutscene (I LIKE IT A LOT NO HATE) Snake getting healthier, training with Ocelot and what not. Maybe even playable sections, a lot of shit must happen between Hospital and Afghanistan.

Holy shit, that's awesome. I never really understood how this happens. Is it time? Activity? Anyway, glad to be a full member!

I think we might be setting ourselves up for disappointment on this. I wouldn't be surprised if the hospital missions ends with Ocelot and Snake getting on a chopper, he talks about how they need to rescue Miller in Afghanistan. Cut to black, then the next mission starts with Ocelot and Snake in the desert having magically regained his mass and with the new prosthetic arm. I think the whole "Getting used to it?" part of the scene feels introductory in tone, to draw attention to the new mechanical arm that the player is seeing for first time.Yep, can't wait to see how and more importantly WHERE he gets his prosthetic arm.
Well judging by the color of the sky and the clouds, it looks like the top image happened during a different time of the day so the guy's shift could have been later that day? Everyone seems to be looking at the skies in MGSV rather than the damn game itself so I said to myself why not?Not sure if this was posted yet, but has anyone noticed this?

Top image is from the shorter version of the trailer shown at the Sony E3 conference. The bottom is the extended trailer. Notice the difference in his camouflage and how the guy behind Miller is missing in one of the trailers.
I wonder if certain characters rescued effects if they show up in certain scenes. This certainly leans in favor of us being able to choose our outfits, as they will no doubt bleed into cutscenes as they have in past MGS games.

For those interested, I'm gonna be streaming GZ for a little bit.
Knowing Kojima, how realistical is a 2015 release?

Pretty sure MGS4 was the only Metal Gear game that ended up being delayed.
I so want to see big boss getting strong through an 80's montage of him training and drinking egg.

I hope you're right. I think it will be mentioned how he got it in audio tapes, at the very least.Kojima is too much of a details nerd ...he would never NOT show something that important as how Big Boss get's his prosthetic arm. They won't just skip to a black screen and boom he suddenly has the prosthetic arm.
Eyepatch is on the wrong side, you scrubs.
And you call yourselves MGS fans.
Wrong training montage, breh.
THE GOAT!
HEEEEEEAAAAAARTS ON FIIIIIIIIIREEEEEEEE
Edit: This is even better.

Kaz, I'm already a seme.
I've been out of the office since Friday, so excited my team got it put together in my absence. Will continue to follow up on further news when I get in tomorrow.

I guess I should have said updates, not news, but hard to think/respond before boarding a plane.
Donkey Kong is my MK8 main, I love his dumb faces so much.
